This is the place you go to for a great down home plate. Amazing food. Great service. And on and on. I really want to try their catering now. Memphis you have a gem right here. All the guys are great truly a wonderful group. I will make a trip back to Memphis just to experience them again. O and try them for catering too!

This place is great! They used to be open for dine-in and more often pre-covid. Now they do pickup orders mainly on Fridays and Sundays or special holidays. Sundays are more for the big meals like chicken, greens, mac n cheese, etc. Follow them on Facebook for best updates or send them a message. They are also featured on the Netflix show. Somebody Feed Phil. Check it out.

We've been here at least 5 times over the last year and every time is better than the last. The food is amazing. The owner, Talbert , turned his grandmothers (God Rest her soul) house into a restaurant which gives it a down home, cozy feel. We come in hungry & we leave feeling satisfied and lazy! The food here is seriously good! . The last time We had the fried chicken, roasted corn, macaroni and cheese & collard greens. And if that wasn't enough, Talbert started frying cat fish and brought some out to every table. All the food was Like mama used to make on sunday evening! Can't say anything bad about the food here. Insanely delicious! Writing this review, thinking back about the food is making me hungry right now! Oh I almost forgot, we had some kind of super moist lemon cake that was melt in your mouth delicious. I don't even like lemon cake! The portions were beyond generous! Guaranteed to make you full even if you have a big appetite! The service was good. Everyone is very friendly & attentive. Only been there on the weekend, so not really sure of the hours during the week.

Today I visited for the first time! It is a quaint little house in South Memphis. When you walk in it feels like you are truly visiting someone! I had the fried ribs with smothered dressing, greens, and sweet potatoes with a side of peach cobbler. The food was absolutely delicious! The people are also very, very nice and personable. I really appreciate it this experience and I will return.

Amazing chicken and waffles with the best scrambled eggs I've had. Also got a side of cheese grits. Everything came out hot and tasted amazing. This is home cooking at its best. Friendly owners at this converted house. Just a few tables, but no wait when we went.

I enjoyed a great plate of freshly fried catfish, spaghetti, green beans and hot water cornbread. You talk about some good eating.

This is just part of the home that you get to eat in! So cozy and full of love!

Sunrise Memphis did not disappoint. We stopped in around 12:30 p.m. on a Wednesday and didn't experience any crowds or much of a lunch rush. That being said, after eating here, I completely understand why people mention waiting hours on weekends. The ordering process is simple: walk up to the counter, place your order, grab a number, and seat yourself. I appreciated that they offer both breakfast and lunch all day because it meant we didn't have to choose between the two. I ordered the chicken tenders with tater tots and an Arnold Palmer. Everything was fresh, hot, and exactly the kind of comfort food you crave in the middle of a long road trip. Kyler ordered the Kitchen Sink, which came with eggs, bacon, hash browns, grits, and a biscuit. He asked if he could swap the cheesy grits and biscuit for biscuits and gravy, and they ended up bringing him everything anyway! It was a massive meal, but absolutely delicious. Beyond the food, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I also loved the fun, eclectic atmosphere. The colorful Memphis touches throughout the restaurant gave it so much personality, and there was even a bar area that made me think this would be an absolute blast for brunch with friends. Sunrise Memphis ended up being one of our favorite surprises of the entire drive. If you're passing through town, do yourself a favor and stop here.

This place is quirky with its decor but on point with the food. Get the bacon! Always get the bacon! I'm still dreaming about it! Be warned! We were told during busy times, the line stretches around the building for a steady 8hrs at a time! May the timing of your visit ever be in your favor!

Knowing my particular taste palette, I was like OK let's see what they have looked on the line and saw the reviews. Very good reviews Check nearby location Check serves chicken and waffles Check. So I thought I'd give it a try. Totally in love with this quaint repurposed house now restaurant extraordinaire. They should have chains all over the world concept is perfect. They even sell libations via bartender, so you're gonna get more than a good brunch. You're gonna have a variety with the kit and caboodle. The Customer Service was top notch, top shelf, from the server to the bartender to the Manager, and order taker, everyone was smiling and friendly and courteous. My friend had been before so she said the catfish was good and I had a taste for fish. We both ordered the catfish basket and I ordered a separate banana's foster waffle on the side line. She had a Coca-Cola drink and I had the mimosa from heaven. When I tell you, everything was perfect it was perfect and I have a very sensitive taste palette. We had so much fish. I had two more pieces to take home to reheat and I didn't reheat because I was visiting and staying at my hotel so I ate a cold and it was still fresh and crunchy, I'm just saying. So this was in the middle of May so the still pretty cool and not humid and we sat on the patio and so learned from the server that you may get served a little quicker on the patio. Because the inside those small and quaint with all the tables was awaiting list of about 20 to 25 minutes. We sat outside to wait but then when we got our menu, she explained we could go ahead and order so we only waited like maybe 10 minutes. This is a perfect choice. I can't wait to come back just to come to this restaurant which is did I say black owned black run black service black excellence. Get your Eggs-Eggxactly Exclusively, Eggcellent!!!!

So I Yelped places and found Eggxactly just down the street. I was a little concerned when Google Maps took us into a residential area, but no worries: Eggxactly Breakfast and Deli is located in a former house that has been wonderfully remodeled into a quaint, cute breakfast joint! Go early as there is not a lot of sitting room inside. Having said that, the service was great and the food was AMAZING!! I ordered the Smoked Turkey Omlett Special and found it extraordinary! Whether you're here to see the King or just passing through south Memphis, definitely give this place a try! Smoked turkey omlett special!!

The food and coffee was so delicious. I wouldn't say I'm a food snob, but I'm particular about breakfast foods, and this made me very happy. We each ordered a coffee and the bacon potatoes to share. I ordered the Juniper Benedict and my friend ordered the loaded biscuits and gravy. The bacon potatoes were cooked perfectly, soft and slightly crunchy with plenty of cheese and bacon. The eggs in my eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly and they used a regular house-made biscuit that soaked up the egg yolks perfectly. The restaurant was pretty big, but the ambiance felt like a small-town diner. The staff was super kind and attentive, too. The cost is par for the course for a nice diner in a big city. The owner and the servers are very friendly and strive to exceed customers' expectations, but the staff seems a little undisciplined at times. When we stopped by for breakfast about 815am on our last day visiting Memphis, there was a growing line of customers standing patiently outside while the staff was getting the restaurant up and running behind schedule. We waited outside for another ten or fifteen minutes before the hostess invited us inside and sat us right away. The owner stopped by after we had received our meals to check in to make sure we had everything we needed and apologized for the delay in opening, which was a nice gesture. She also explained a bit how the restaurant's menu was comprised of dishes she'd developed over the years while cooking for her children as they grew up. The menu includes plenty of tasty, filling breakfast and brunch staples, both savory -- a variety of omelettes, benedicts, bowls, and breakfast sandwiches -- and sweet -- several innovative pancake and french toast options. I had the house-specialty Salmon Cakes platter, consisting of two salmon croquettes with homemade honey mustard glaze served alongside two eggs, grits or potatoes, and toast, which was excellent. My dining companion had the Garden Omelette, filled with tomatoes, broccoli, caramelized onions, and mushrooms, which she really enjoyed as well. We will definitely be back next time we're in the area! PRO TIP #1: The Garden Brunch Cafe is only open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8am til 230pm.
