I wanted to upgrade from my 2018 Traverse to a 2023 Traverse and they had just the right vehicle on their lot. Recently bought a vehicle here for the first and last time. I sold myself on the vehicle so a sales person really wasn't needed but whatever. At first, everything seemly was going fine. Did paperwork and left with vehicle. I get a message the next day that they forgot to have me sign an automatic withdrawal for the payment. I asked if the automatic withdrawal was necessary as I prefer to manually make my payments as I've always done. Was ignored on this question. The lien for the new vehicle reached out with other ways to make payments online or using their coupon book. So I assume that automatic withdrawal wasn't needed and that they just don't want you to pay off the vehicle sooner to avoid the extra interest. I asked if I would need to pick up the title for the new purchase or if it would be mailed. Was told it would be mailed. I gave them some time as I know titles can take a bit to send out after purchase but was not made aware that they would only release the title for the new purchase once the trade in title was released to them. There's tons of miscommunication within the staff of what was going on and I was being told different things. I asked if I could have my trade in back and was told it was already sold. I asked a different staff member about the title of both vehicles and was told I could get the trade in back since the titling of both vehicles were dependent of each other. I mentioned that I was told the trade in was sold already and was reassured I could still get the vehicle back. Was told they needed a certain document on the trade in from the lien holder to release the title for the newly purchased vehicle to which was provided and then told that they needed something else. Once all the titling was done I mentioned again I wanted the trade in back. Did not get a response. Had to email a higher up about it to which I was told it was already gone even though I had been told I could get it back. I was given the run around, misinformed, and ignored when it was convenient for them. I unfortunately would not purchase another vehicle from them. Also, sales person lost my screw caps for my license plate bracket when they changed over my plates. read more

We purchased a Jeep in 2015 here the transaction went well. In 2022 we needed to sell two cars and buy one, the transaction was terrible. Trying to negotiate a price was nonexistent and I feel like they took advantage of the personal situation we were in. Having asked numerous times about a better price they ignored it. We needed to get rid of our cars and get in a cheaper vehicle they took advantage of the situation. We came in with our own financing and they decided to try and finance us... resulting in them sending our information to like 7 different lenders! Drastically dropping my credit score for 'too many inquiries.' It took so long to get the final check after we sold it to them. Won't buy a car here again. Came in for my car making noise when I press on the accelerator. They did services I didn't even ask for and charged me $100 for a 'diagnostic test.' The $825 issue they said it was, was fixed with an oil change like I suggested my husband(who was deployed) said. It was low on oil. $218 for them to do an oil change, balance my tires (which I didn't ask for) & the 'diagnostic test.' We'll never use this business again. If you're someone who doesn't know a lot about mechanics, get a second opinion. I feel like they took advantage of me since I didn't know what it was. read more

Went for an alignment check since they did the last one, before they even looked at the car the service writer began making excuses for the tires getting chewed up for a third time. I drove from Manhattan for this service center for the past 3 years, never again Jim Clark. I hope the $80 you charged for looking at my car was worth it. read more

Horrible experience with Service Department. I am a military veteran and throughout my military career I only purchased Chevy vehicles, for myself and my children. I have brought chevy vehicles over 25 years and had them serviced only at Chevrolet Dealerships. I brought my daughter chevy cruise in because it was overheating, was told I needed a radiator by Jim Clark Service Department Ok, no problem the radiator was $1200 worth of work. Daughter drive car 4 miles and the car over heated, sent back to dealer and they say it could be head gasket!!! What!! Called another dealership and mechanic said before putting on radiator or after putting on radiator a block test should have been conducted. Since a month before car was overheating and Jim Clark put in a thermostat. Mechanic said first thing to do is a block test, a whole coolant system check. Jim Clark said block test was not done and after going back and forth with Manager over the phone: Well, I had my car towed back to another mechanic, Mechanic said that if it's the head gasket more than likely it occurred after the new radiator was put back on and not before, it should have been a block test done after new radiator was installed. Mechanic gave me results and I am Sueing. If I do not win the case, I sure will blast this over the surrounding areas!!! I've been with Chevy too long and spent too much money without any complaints for them to not make this right!!! I will not be doing business with them ever again!!! But this is not the last of this situation I will get justice!! I maybe a single mom and they may think they can get over on a woman, but I will get results!!! read more

He is on the phone talking about how he is working a deal to move the oldest car they have on the lot. Bragging to his buddy on the phone and laughing that he got this guy a 19% interest rate. The guy has said allowed the name of the gentleman he plans on selling this SUV to as well as his employer and how much he makes. Waiting area is so close to where this guy is talking extremely loud. Made an appointment for oil change and a new door handle install over a week ago and when i came in on a Saturday the service advisor stated they were understaffed and might be unable to install the new handle. They changed the oil in a timely manner however forgot to reset the oil on the odometer and didn't even do the usual courtesy wash but when i went out to my car they had just pulled a truck off the service line with a fresh wash. They lose one star for being unable to accommodate for the handle which willl involve me making another appointment, another star lost for forgetting to reset the oil odometer and another star for failing to wash my car after the fact they pulled another vehicle off the service lot with a fresh wash. Unsatisfactory performance on their end and one unsatisfied customer. read more

Jim Clark fixed my tire for free, by fixed, I mean they had to give me a whole new tire due to me driving to long with a nail in it! The manager, Robert, was so kind to talk to. We were cruising along 70, heading west on a multiday trip when 3 pm on a Friday, west of Topeka, KS when the "battery is not charging" light came on. We also had our 3 dogs with us. Luckily, we were just outside of Junction City, KS and found Jim Clark. They got us in, confirmed a bad alternator and replaced it. Better yet, they are dog friendly, so we all got to wait in the lounge on a cold and windy day. We were back on the road in a couple of hours. Sherri and everyone else we met were wonderful. If I could give a negative number I would. The first time I dropped my truck off for service they asked is I wanted to wait and thank goodness I said no, I dropped it off at 830 and no one called me back, I called them at 430 and they said they were almost done and I could pick it up before they closed (all I had was a speaker checked because it was blown and a noise in the front left tire....which they didn't even fix). They had the audacity to tell me the noise was because i was driving in 4 wheel all the time (which was a bold faced lie). I brought I back to have the speaker replaced and again I am waiting over 2 hours and nothing.....DO NOT BRING ANY VEHICLE HERE FOR SERVICE...EVER!!!!! read more

Other than the disparity between parts and labor costs, which given the nature of the service requested is almost understandable, it was once again a pleasant experience. The Courtesy Shuttle is the reason why I choose Jim Clark in Junction City over the Chevrolet Dealer in my home town of Manhattan. Without that service, or a Loaner Vehicle - maintaining my vehicle with a dealer is almost impossible. Customer Service like that is imperative and should be mandatory at EVERY dealer. Just had the worst experience ever in the service department. Called them and told them I was having a problem and they said no problem. Bring it in, we will look at it and let you know what it will cost to fix it. I bought my jeep from them so I thought it would be the place to go. They looked at it, said it needed an ignition coil and system flush. At a cost of almost $500.00. I declined to have it done at thar time and went to the service desk to get my keys only to be told I owed $110.00 for just checking it out. I told them I was never informed that it would cost anything for diagnosis. They told me they would not release my keys until I paid it. Needless to say I was furious. In the end I got my keys back without paying them a dime. I then took it to another mechanic (who looked at it for free) and he told me he could replace the ignition coil for $50.00 and as far as the system flush..all I needed to do was fill up my tank halfway and get some Lucas feel injector cleaner (all a cost of $7.00) and put it in the tank and drive it out,. Jim Clark wanted $115.00 for this "system flush". What a bunch of immoral people. I will never purchase another car from them. Ever. They also put the bolts on my oil pan with a torque wrench so when I went to change the oil at Walmart they couldn't get them off leaving me no choice but to go to the dealership for the oil change at a cost of $98.00 vs Walmarts $39.95. That place is a con. Don't ever use them. read more

Never buy a used car from Jim Clark auto. I bought a used Ford Explorer Sport Trac and the next day I texted the salesman that it smelled like oil and the cruise control wasn't working. The salesman said it might smell like that for a couple of days but it should burn off. I have my dad call him later and tell them that it was still smelling like oil because we know sales people don't listen to women when it comes to cars. I took it down there the next Thursday and they said I needed to keep it there because there was something seriously wrong with it. They kept it for two weeks and gave me a new Camaro to drive instead which some people would think that was great but I wanted to go kayaking with my kids. They pulled the motor and check the transmission put a new oil pan in it and send it back with me. I get about two blocks down the road and the check engine light comes on so I turn around and take it back again. An hour later they say it's ready. Drove it for about two months after that and the timing tensioner's decided to give out and now the motor is absolutely shot. They're wanting me to shell out anywhere between $1500+ to get it fixed or to get something different. They keep saying don't you want to spend a little bit more on a vehicle. Never buying another used or new vehicle from them again. I've known Jared Leis for almost 20 years and feel absolutely furious. read more

Thought I was getting a great used vehicle! The sales consultant, Danny Armidon , walked me through their process of vehicle inspection for used, non-certified pre-owned vehicles. He stated that they had a 180 and some point inspection. If this had been true, I would not be having the issues I am currently having with the truck. My problem is not with the sales department. It is with the service department. Every time I bring my vehicle in there, some thing else crops up. Let me give you an example. I took my vehicle in there because it told me to service the charging system. This was 2 days after purchase. The technician told us not to worry about it because the alternator had not gotten the battery up to voltage. This was clearly untrue, but I could not get the department to work on it. I had to have it diagnosed by Firestone (which I paid for out of my pocket and the dealership will not reimburse) just for Jim Clark to admit that the alternator was bad and replace it (which they did free of charge). The starter also went out on the vehicle a week after we bought it. One of the seats that was supposed to fold down wouldn't. The door handle on the vehicle fell off. The air ride compressor died. The driver's side seat won't move, even though the service department diagnosed the problem and made me pay for a motor for it. The truck is currently sitting in my driveway, not able to start, making the clicking noises like the starter went out on it (after Jim Clark supposedly replaced it a couple of months ago.) The turn signal sometimes doesn't make the clicking sound when I turn it on (which I believe points to bigger problems), but the dealership won't even look at that. There was also water dripping from the information center at the top of the truck, but again, that's not an issue either. I have had this vehicle for about 4 months and it has been in the shop to be worked on 10 times. Tell me again about the inspection they do on all used vehicles? The service department can't seem to find the issue with the driver's seat not working, why trust them with anything else? The one bright spot there is Sherry, who sets up our appointments. She is bright and cheerful despite being clearly overwhelmed with work. Of course, if people are taking their cars back for the same issue over and over and over again, then that would explain why she's so busy. Jim Clark is friendly and a good place to buy a NEW vehicle (where the lemon laws protect you - and as long as you have a different dealership to take your vehicle to for maintenance). But I would never recommend anyone to get a USED vehicle there. Their service department is just too incompetent. I will be looking for somewhere else to take my lemon of a vehicle to get it fixed. read more
