Although I stand by my good review a few months ago... my recent experience was less than satisfactory. I asked for two things (kilts) to be altered and dry cleaned and to have a pocket fixed on a pair of jeans. When I came in for pick up they told me they didn't have time to clean the jeans. Hmmmm... I asked for the kilts to be cleaned (I mean why would I want jeans dry cleaned when they can go in the washer?). Even so, they had all three items for a week-why wasn't anything cleaned? I needed the kilts for tonight so I took the dirty altered garments home, but they just lost me. A shame too since I liked their alterations department a lot. read more

There's really nothing too modern or high tech about this place but I don't care. They do a fine job at a fair price. Everyone there is polite and the owner remembers my name each time. Absolutely the worst business I have ever dealt with. They lost a rug I had brought in for cleaning, strung me along for 6 weeks and then told me their rug guy lost it. This was my first and last time going to this place. Worst experience with a dry cleaners in my entire life! I paid over $150 up front to clean my suits and dresses. I went on a business trip with half of them and they smelled as if they were never cleaned. When I got back, I tried to take the ones i didn't wear back to be cleaned. An employee by the name of Susan insisted that it was my first time there and that i didn't get my clothes cleaned at this specific location because my name was not in the system and there was a different label on the suits. I assured her that they were cleaned at this location and to double check her recorded. She finally realized that my name and number was misspelled in the system however she would only take the ones that didn't have other tags on it even though the receipts showed that these were the same suits I dropped off. She kept putting words in my month, twisting what i was saying to make herself right, basically insisting i was lying about what i was saying as oppose to trying to figure out how we could solve the problem. I will NEVER come back to this place and would not recommend anyone to go here. I feel like i got ripped off of over $150 of my hard earned money and then insulted by a staffer. read more

I hate to write negative reviews on local businesses but for what happened, I must. I left my bridesmaid dress with them with almost one month to alter. It needed a lot of work, which I understood, and agreed to paying $130 for alterations. I went back almost three weeks later to pick up my dress and it wasn't even started. He claimed to have thought I had plenty of time, which I did, but three weeks was plenty of time. I gave them two days until I needed to pick it up, which was disappointing because I knew they would be rushed, but I needed the dress for the wedding. I returned two days later and the dress was completely destroyed***!!! Not only were the alterations rushed, there were black stains/burns all over it! Not one person even acknowledged it. They tried to push me out the door, saying "oh u don't need to try it on, do u?" After $130 worth of alterations, of course I did! They were hoping I wouldn't have noticed. I had to ask them what had happened and they played stupid for most of the conversation. They promised me they could remove the stains and fix alterations. Promised me that if I came back in a few hours it would be perfect. Blamed everyone but themselves for the problem. I knew they would never be able to fix it, so while I waited the few hours I called Michael and asked if he was waisting my time or was the dress being fixed!? He again promised be it would be ok. I went back and the dress was STILL the same. All I expected was a sincere apology and them to take the blame but that still didn't happen. I did not accept my dress and demanded them pay for the dress. Which they paid me for, a few days later, via check plus $30 in gift cards. I had to find a brand new bridesmaid dress which was different from everyone else's, and rush alterations at another place. This isn't the only time they have ruined my stuff. They completely burnt my husbands Tommy Bahama silk shirt by accidentally putting it in the press and once again they didn't even acknowledged that they messed up. Michael told me "that's how the pattern was supposed to be". I let it go, which i shouldn't have. They never offered to pay for it because they wouldn't even acknowledge they did it. Here's a little tip: How about you stop trying to play your customers for fools and be honest. All I ever wanted was an honest answer. Someone to say sorry and take blame. I live in the area and have been going to Jim Dandy for years. Called over the phone to check on an order b/c I lost my receipt. A young man was trying to get my info and in the back round I hear a women yelling "Tell her to call back! Hang up the phone! We are too busy"....and the young man just hung up on me. I immediately drove over there and confronted the women and again she yells..."Yes, that was me. I told you to call back b/c we were busy!" Who does business that way!? Btw, she did not ask me to call back, she yelled at me! Needless to say I will not be returning there. Yes they are convenient but there service is horrible and staff is extremely rude. Not just after this incident but in the pass as well. Plus my clothing was returned to me on several occasions less than satisfactory. read more

Jim Dandy Cleaners is horrendous. Do not trust them. I brought in my grandmothers quilt in for cleaning. Asked to speak with a manager- showed Mike the quilt. Asked if this could be cleaned safely. I explained in detail my concern- and pointed out the age of the fabric, and stressed that this quilt was irreplaceable . He looked it over - said no problem. This heirloom was ruined. The fabric shredded in many sections. My heart is broken. They NEVER had me think for one minute that there could be a problem . Then he says he will fix it to the best of their ability. I waited 2 months- thinking they are really taking their time with it. I call, I go in- they hadn't even touched it. Oh they apologize - the tailor there then says I can't do anything with this. Mike says he is going to give it someone else. A week later I come in and they not only did not repair everything they said they would- the things they did try to repair were done by an amateur -They basically ruined the quilt - I could have sewn better.
