She helped us decide where the rhinestones would look best and she shortened the length of the dress exactly how my daughter wanted it. Nadia showed my daughter different lengths that she could do, and told her which she thought would be best. We picked the dress up two weeks later and it is perfect. Her work is amazing! Very disappointed in this place. Dropped off a tuxedo shirt to be dry cleaned last week. After my son picked it up the tuxedo black buttons were all missing. After returning to the store in the Plainview shopping mall I was told they send out the dry cleaning to their other location on Woodbury Road. She calls they put her on hold and NEVER came on the phone. So I was told to go there and complain. I get there, manager was totally unhelpful, she goes to the back and gives me the tuxedo buttons. How they did not place them in a bag and attach them, or put them back on the shirt so they wouldn't get lost is beyond me. I had to go out of my way looking for the lost tuxedo buttons. I have had no issues with American Cleaners in the past. They have always been professional and efficient. HOWEVER, today, when I went to pick up my dry cleaning, I noticed many workers through the glass walls surrounding the store, were not masked. Although the person helping me behind the counter was masked, the seamstress sewing within 6 feet of me had a mask below her chin and a man walking right behind the counter person within 4 feet of me had NO MASK whatsoever on his person. I feel this establishment is not respecting their clients and people should know, who frequent this business, what is going on. I am very disappointed in this cleaners. read more

This review is solely for the seamstress. My husband and I dropped some clothing off to have adjusted for an event we are having this Sunday, fine- good enough. Finally my sons baptism outfit arrives from Greece, but happens to arrive Tuesday and I needed it by the weekend. I understand it's a rush, but she said she would do it with a huff and puff and slapped $65 dollars on top. Just got the shit back and it looks like complete shit. The stitch is completely lopsided, and she only cuffed in the jacket and add some bs stitch. I understand, it's a tight turnaround but for the ridiculous price I paid for a shit job and an attitude was uncalled for. I will never ever come back. The girl at the register didn't know what to charge me, she called over a guy and he seemed unsure as well and at the end they charged me $250!!! What a rip off! When there was a fire in my building my apartment was thankfully spared, but there was still a lot of smoke and particulate residue. The landlord sent these folks over and they did a bang-up job of ridding my apartment of all that stuff. I have been using this place for a short period of time but I have to say I am VERY impressed. On Long Island I have always struggled to find a great dry cleaner. The reality is most suck. I have checked multiple areas and finally came across this one. I read some reviews then went in there and the experience was awesome. I pass by this dry cleaner nearly every day on the way to and from work. It is always very busy with customers. I needed a hem on my long evening dress, and saw the tailor avaliable last Saturday morning. He was extremely friendly and worked quickly and gave me a good price for the alterations. I have no complaints about their work. I dropped off shirts to be laundered, and they came back crisp, with collar stays and on hangars. I appreciated their free dropoff service. I do have a lot to complain about regarding pricing, and their practice of changing the amount to be charged without notifying. When I dropped the shirts off, the person accepting the shirts gave me a receipt for $1.80 per shirt, laundered, on the hangar. Somewhat more expensive than the other providers in the area, but I thought, well, must be a quality cleaners. Some of the shirts were dropped off a few days later. After a few more days, a few shirts were dropped off - apparently these were missed earlier. This got me worried. With the complacence that the convenience of dropoff service brings, I skipped the verification of shirt count - and that was not right. If you are picking up shirts, you are focused on the task, so you count and check. If they are being dropped off, you are likely to be in the middle of something else, and pay little attention. Nothing really bad so far. I missed a step, I could have lost some shirts, but they took care of the situation. A few days later I checked my credit card. I was charged 50% more than what I was expecting. I followed up with a visit to the store. Apparently I wear shirts that are too small for their automated machines, and they had to press by hand. This also, apparently per policy, bumps up the price per shirt from $1.80 to $5.60 - a three fold increase - without any notification to the consumer. This is ridiculous. I don't mind paying $5.60 per shirt - if that is what I know I have to pay. Printing off a ticket for $1.80, then charging $5.60 without notice - of any kind - before or after the charge - is not fair game. So, overall, quality cleaners, but they've lost my trust with their billing process. I won't be using their pickup / delivery, since that's how they can charge without me noticing what they are charging, and I'll have to be extra careful on what I'm dropping off, what's the size of those shirts, and what I'm picking up. read more

I dropped a bridesmaids dress to be altered on a Tuesday and picked it up on Thursday, the seamstress did such amazing work fitting this dress to my body. And I received it before I requested. Yes is was expensive but great work! They also cleaned the dress for me at no charge and got every single stain out. I didn't think that was possible! (purchased the dress online because the store was out of the dresses and when I received it in the mail there were stains all over the dress because it was a sample) I would recommend coming here.
