Technician came out and assessed issue. Call manufacturer and was told due to age that parts were unavailable and whole unit would have to be replaced. Technician called my home warranty and OK'd new unit. However, home warranty only allowed $629.00 leaving me with a balance of $2,400.00 ( Flue vent=$650.00, Gas line modification=$650.00, Permit=$450.00 (county only charged $53.55 for permit), Water line modification=$650.00)!!! Demanded we pay in cash. When installing the new unit, Patriot Plumbing's work "interfered with the seal of roof pipe collar and caused it to fail and created a gap around area. " (Assessment done by my roofing company). My roof is less than one year old. This repair is going to cost me $500.00!!!!! Per Patriot, they are the sole contractor for American Home Shield.
