My mother went to him with a pain in her head, he sent her home, where my father discovered a thorn lodged in her head. When I went to see him after a head trauma worried about a concussion (hit in nose with baseball), he didn't even examine my balance or head at all until he was shown a picture I had taken right after the accident, only THEN did a thourough examination take place. He exclaimed, "OHH, you DID get hit in the head". Many people I've spoken to have horror stories of botched surgeries. One claims he nicked her while giving a hysterectomy and had to send photos to Springfield so they could tell him where she was bleeding from. Save your time and money, find a different doc.

I finally caved and got a new pediatrician after this incident with my 14 month old daughter. I have reported to him since last July which my daughter at the time was 8/9 months old about her right leg going sideways, her right leg looking shorter than the other, her right leg not wanting to bend the same as her left, and also my daughter showing discomfort sometimes when trying to rotate the right leg. He "addressed" it by looking at her and running his finger down her spine and said, "She is fine, she will most likely grow out of it once she starts walking." I reported different occasions each time and finally he said "I don't see anything wrong, wait until she's 18 months and we will see how she is then." Then I refused because I KNEW something was wrong, as well as all my family members. It was clear as day. My last appointment I had with him I demanded answers and X-rays. He was extremely rude with me, and was even training another gentleman at the time of the visit. I was showing him videos of her trying to walk and it was clear that she wasn't using her right leg properly and she had a gait in her walk. He stated he saw nothing wrong and doesn't feel comfortable doing X-rays for my daughter. He did send me a referral over at St.Louis Children's Hospital after that visit and we got X-rays there and it was confirmed. She not ONLY has hip dysplasia, but her hip was completely dislocated and her Femur is twisted as well. She will be going in for a procedure, and possibly surgery, 6-8 weeks in a spica cast & physical therapy afterwards. The point is he neglected my daughter and I truly believe that. He ignored all signs and did not want to listen to me(The mother) when it was clear as day what was going on. Even the doctors/nurses at Childrens saw instantly she had something wrong by looking at her stand. DO NOT get Dr.Zenker. I don't want this to happen to another parent nor child. We as parents should feel comfortable and listened to when coming in and having a doctor we can trust with our babies. This should have been caught when she was an infant, or even when I myself addressed it multiple times when she was a baby. Now as a toddler, she will have to be in a darn near full body cast and go through this procedure, robbing her from playing on the water this summer and as well as walking on her own. When it could have been AVOIDED by this doctor and taken care of wayyy before. Please save your time and go with a pediatrician that cares about your child's well being and not his ego.

First off, he's always made our family feel comfortable with voicing concerns and asking questions. He patiently listens to all that we have to say and makes my daughter feel comfortable during every visit. Secondly, every time I call with a concern, his staff ALWAYS gives me the option to either have someone talk to the doctor and call me back, or to bring her to the office to be seen by Dr Zenker. I appreciate that they give me an option, because most offices are too quick to diagnose over the phone. Lastly, the thing I love most about Dr. Zenker is that he doesn't hesitate to order lab work or x-rays. I feel that he wants to be 110% sure of what is happening, and won't give a diagnosis or medication until he's absolutely sure that it's necessary. (We had gone to an after-hours facility that was quick to diagnose and medicate her, when it turned out to be something completely different, and the medication was unnecessary) Kudos to Dr. Z!

Before my appointment, I was sent a plethora of pages to fill out as requested and brought them the morning of my appointment. I, like many people, read the fine print. Upon entering, I had to have a photo taken to load internally to help prevent fraud, which I kindly declined. If you have a credit on your account of $5 or less they expect you to write it off. I wrote, "I want any amount refunded". I also had to submit a credit card to keep on file. "Who in their right mind gives anyone a blank check to charge at any time?". I put a line through that and initialed it. Christy handed me another copy of that page and told me I could not write anything in, that I just had to initial it. She was insistent I initial the Workman's Compensation Form. I declined. She said, "Everyone has to initial it". I'm 70 years old, tell me why. The last straw was when I had to give my SS#. Again I was told, everyone gives their SS#. Christy said it was very secure and I'm thinking, computers are hacked every day. I said "I will leave before giving that information", and Christy's response was "Well, it will probably come to that". I wonder how many people don't read the fine print and don't realize what freewill they give businesses. As someone who has been a victim of credit card fraud more than once and identity theft, there are some things that need protection. Dr. Bell may be a very nice man, I wouldn't know as I couldn't get past the office staff. I have never in my 70 years had to have a mug shot taken upon entering a physician's office. I got the feeling the office staff was more concerned about getting their money than caring for people. First impressions are lasting.

In doing so the lady explained where to go as the building had changed and that they would be open to 2PM. So my wife with a fever and bad chest congestion showed up to the doors locked on Christmas Eve. Now she may have to go to an emergency room, if it's covid is that where you wanted to here to be! She drove an extra 30 minutes to be seen to find the doors closed. Thanks for hanging a sick lady out in the cold. I know you don't get praises for being on call during the Holidays, as I was before I retired always expected to work, and worked more during Covid-19. But you never direct a person, in need of medical care to come and have the doors closed on them. My wife will not spend the money for the ER, so she will have to wait till Monday. There are no words I can express to explain my disappointment! I would like to thank Berry in Greenville - Urgent Care for helping us find a place my wife could get to before they closed, as they did not know that Breese is useless.
