I've had quite a few endocrine doctors over the course of the 26.5 years I've had Type One Diabetes, and Dr. Radparvar is one of the better physicians I've been treated by. The staff at the front desk is always friendly and happy to answer any questions. They also send email and text reminders for upcoming appointments, which is helpful. The techs who check vitals and perform the A1C and blood work tests are also kind and do a great job drawing blood.

My arm draw was 10 a.m. My appointment with Dr. Bagnegni was 11 a.m. At 11:30 a.m., I went to the front desk to inquire. "She's running late." Well, if she's running late in the morning, what's going to happen in the afternoon? It's a continual lag. And THAT'S why I always choose a morning appointment. Dr. Bagnegni is wonderfully personable and knowledgeable. She asked about everything. And she wanted me to get a bone density test -- earliest availability. I had not had one in two years. Well, earliest available turned out to be August 17, 10:30 a.m. arrival, 11 a.m. test. That was the day I had to take Thomas Raymond to the groomer. So, I juggled a whole bunch of time frames to get Thomas Raymond to the groomer, me to the bone density test. And it worked!

I am probably the exception to his patients in being relatively proactive when it comes to my healthcare and he is usually willing to place orders for whatever bloodwork and screening tests that I request when I see him to stay on top of my health. I had to push to get a CAC scan in 2019 which revealed much more coronary artery calcium than either of us would have guessed based on my other risk factors. However the medical establishment (AHA) only recognized the value of it as a tool for coronary vascular disease risk assessment within a year of my requesting the test so I certainly don't blame him for not recommending it sooner.

I've been treating here, for Atypical Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome, since 2017. My specific type of chemotherapy is highly experimental, but it has been such a lifeline for me. I want to also personally thank two amazing nurses, named Susan and Tamela, for caring for me since the first day of my diagnosis. They've watched me grow into a man from a grown up kid. When I was so confused as to why this was happening to me, so angry with God about it, they sat with me, and helped me understand He was taking me through a journey of epic proportions. I pray that everyone who must go here for any treatment, finds the same type of healing I have found. And one day, should I become cancer free, I cannot wait to ring the bell!
