Call backs are either non-existent or you have to call yourself only to deal with an annoyed nurse on the other end. I called for cholesterol results nearly 2 weeks after my blood work was done. A simple test that should be back at the doctors office at most within a couple days. When I called, the girl immediately told me the results weren't back yet. She didn't even check and I'm not even sure she got my name. I insisted she check and sure enough, the results were there. Then she didn't want to give me the numbers.....it was like pulling teeth and she even gave me a heavy sigh when I wanted more than just the total cholesterol number. I'm annoyed that I should have to fight to get simple answers. I asked for a call back to see if I should stay on the same dosage of cholesterol medicine, but never heard anything back. This scenario has happened more than several times over the past few years and I don't recommend anyone settle for having to fight for their own information. Schueler and Kelly do seem to care, but if their office staff doesn't......then it's a problem for me.

She tried mightily to handle customer service, testing, sanitation, coordination with off-site staff, and more--and I do commend her for her efforts. But this is no way to run a health clinic. I was really taken aback by the fact that, once I accepted a telehealth appointment with a nurse practitioner, I was expected to discuss all of my symptoms and treatment options using the receptionist's phone--in full earshot of everyone in the waiting room (though there were only a couple people; one was a minor). I question the legality of practicing medicine in this manner, ie, who is supervising the clinic if no doctors are on site? Are nurse practitioners in Illinois licensed to provide care and prescribe without direct supervision? Furthermore, while the nurse practitioner I spoke with was as kind as can be, their medical advice wasn't helpful. For an unknown respiratory issue I described, they prescribed over-the-counter meds including a sleep aid (although they knew I already had an Rx sleep aid from my own doctor), and a common motion sickness remedy (although they knew I already had an Rx anti-nausea med from my own doctor). They also prescribed a cough suppressant that was just plain ineffective. I don't doubt their intentions, but when I was able to see my own doctor days later, he was frustrated that they didn't prescribe any antibiotics (not knowing whether my infection was viral or bacterial), and at the OTC choices I was given. Moreover, he immediately ordered a chest x-ray, which found that I had already progressed to acute pneumonia. I would return to this urgent care only if--like the day I went there--I had no other choice. And that would be silly, considering there's a reputable hospital right across the street.

The employee said, 'they have grandkids they help with sometimes...' I explained I would leave at 7:30am if Dr. Etcheson still had not arrived. He still had not even arrived by 7:30am. I drove an hour to the appointment to arrive on time and missed work. As I was driving back around 7:40am, the employee called & left a voicemail saying, Dr. Etcheson was there now if I wanted to come back, and that he'd just been 'a little late!' Dr. Etcheson did not get himself up and to work on time, although I drove an hour each way, only to sit there for his no-show. Even worse, he did not call himself to apologize for such poor, unprofessional behavior! Really Poor!!

She is soft-spoken, gentle, and explains every single step of her processes. She gave me my first pap, delivered my child, and has performed a coloscopy with biopsy. She takes all kinds of insurance, like Obamacare. But it can take up to a few months to schedule a first appointment with her. You will want to keep this in mind if you need a GYN quickly. In the past, it has taken awhile in the waiting room but my last appointment I was in super quick and no other patients were there. Dr. Staten delivers a lot of babies so she is all over the hospital and her office, so this may account for it.
