This office is gross. First I felt like I was in a 3rd world country assembly line, felt like cattle getting ready for slaughter, just to go passed the first step and into the medical area. Then the medical area was so unorganaized, I saw cups of urine and blood just in common area that can be touched by everyone. Personalized level of care went down in recent times as the clinic expanded, and the staff now makes it known that you are just a number and they are too busy for you. I also had a negative impression from the very first time I went here, when Dr. Song discussed another patient's private matter with amusement as though it was an entertainment topic, chatting with me about a woman who was cheated on by her husband and seeking STD testing. It was wildly inappropriate and I wasn't sure if I should come back. I've been a patient here for years and have always really liked Dr. Song for her great bedside manner, but the office has really changed for the worse. It has become a money gouging operation where it is impossible to even ask the doctor a question without booking a separate office visit for which they collect an additional copay. If they write you a referral for a procedure they decide you need? Another copay. This is literally the only office I've ever encountered in my many dealings with primary care and specialists that operates this way. Seriously, what other doctor's office charges patients to *ask a question*?! Most modern medical offices even have apps and publicize doctor's emails addresses to make communication with the doctors easier, not harder. I've been harassed in the past over owing a balance of as little $1, and they will refuse to see you if you have a past balance of $25 (for a virtual visit that lasted no more than 5 minutes to either answer a question or deliver test results). If they had their way, you'd be making three visits within three weeks and paying three copays each time. There's no question that their primary focus is $$$. What's more is that the front desk staff is extremely rude toward you. Where do they get off treating patients this way? It's not the first time I've been met with a nasty attitude when I ask a simple question. Although I have always liked Dr. Song and her PAs (Yiling Chao, who is no longer there and Michelle Li), I can take my business (since that's all they seem to care about based on this behavior) elsewhere. In early 2019, I made an appointment with Dr. Song through ZocDoc and it was a 5 star experience. Attentive, timely with appointments, and thorough. In 2020 when she reopened post pandemic, it became a 3 star experience. Her staff told me they wanted to get rid of me as a patient because they didn't like how my UnitedHealthCare insurance reimbursed. For the record, I always paid my copays in full. As added transparency, the office billed UHC $390 for my annual checkup and was reimbursed $130. Mathematically yes the reimbursement is 1/3 of her requested amount but it's still higher than her cash rate. Also, I never got to see Dr. Song this year because I had to choice to wait an unknown period of time for her or to see an NP. I chose the latter because the meters out front have only two hour limits and I had already spent 1.5 hours at the office. When I told the staff of my parking limit they just scoffed and said I should have budgeted more time... I also didn't like how I made a virtual follow up visit to get my lab results read to me 7 days later only to have no one facetime me at the appointed time. When I called the office they said they discontinued virtual visits with no notice and I should come to the office. I expressed how this unprofessionalism is almost unheard of so instead they got a nurse on the phone to tell me three words, "You are okay" before hanging up. They billed my insurance $150 for that, at $50/word, and was reimbursed $65. I really don't understand why they would complain about the reimbursement rates when they deliver such low effort. In 2021 it finally happened. They figured out how to get rid of me as a patient. I called to schedule my annual physical only to be told that the earliest I can be seen is on 12/31/21. There is apparently a three month wait. I was able to schedule surgeries with leading physicians in the nation faster than this. 1 star. Overall average across the three years, 3 stars. read more

I chose this as my PCP based on the stellar reviews, however I was let down. My first visit when I was asked to provide a urine sample, the light bulb in the bathroom was blown out and there was no toilet paper. During my visit with the doctor, she had her desktop screen open with Yelp opened indirectly implying she wants me to write her a good review. A few days after the visit, I called the office and asked to come pick up my results. I went to the office the following week and was BULLIED into another office visit so they can bill my insurance. I clearly told them 3x that I'm only picking up my results and the medical assistant wouldn't give it to me and proceeded to take my blood pressure, weight and height again (Already did the previous week). I was so upset. Then I saw the Physician Assistant and when I asked her to help me set up a patient portal, she asked me to set up another appointment. For what? Why couldn't I set up a portal on the same day? I even called the doctor and she told me I can set up a portal during my first visit. So how many visits do I need to make for you to set up a patient portal to access my lab test results? I honestly don't understand how this place has good reviews. Guys my sister got Tendonitis because a nurse struck her nerve when her blood was being drawn!! WTH?! For background, I came to this business last year due to the great reviews but I really didn't see where the 5 stars was coming from. The receptionists are curt, which I don't mind as they have a high volume of attendees to take care of- I saw the doctor for a total of 5 minutes during this visit. (But again, whatever as they are a high volume facility and have many patients) The nurses took me and my sisters blood but it was as if they were inexperienced and kept moving the needle when it was underneath my skin?! Anyways- I decided not to review the office that time because it was not a great experience and maybe it was a incidental one time issue. (I swore I was never going back though) Last week however, my sister had to get a form filled and bloodwork/checkup for her new employment. Since the office already has her information she decided to go back there. When she got her blood drawn, they were unable to find her vein on the underside of the elbow (which is fine but the place we usually get blood drawn) instead the nurse decided to draw the blood right next to her wrist bone. the blood apparently wasn't even coming out steadily. My sis said "ow" a couple of times but the nurse didn't react. There was a PA there who asked if she was okay afterwards, which was nice of him. The next few days after the blood test, she experienced pain every time she moved her arm, like a shock running down her arms. She went back in today and they told her she has tendonitis. The doctor was frustrated at the situation, and offered to waive her copay for her visit today and also gave her the option of a steroid shot on the house if needed in the future-but she still has to go back, sign more forms, and now do even more specialized test. Let's also note the receptionist and the nurses there that day said sorry to her (the nurse that took her blood wasn't there) They stated they're going to find who the nurse that have her the shot but I don't think that is fair compensation, whatever, I hate critiquing a business, but just hearing this situation makes my blood boil! Thank god that I read all the great reviews on ZocDoc before I choose Dr. Song as my new PCP. Her office was so convenient from my bus stop. First time here this morning to do my annual checkup and I came prepare to build a relationship with her. I arrived 30 mins before my appointment at 10:15AM and filled out new patient paperwork. I am loving that doctor's office takes pictures of their patients that way no one can mistaken you for someone else. I didn't have to wait too long like my old PCP's office. I was weighted on the scale and the nurse took my blood pressure then at 10:08AM, I got to meet Dr. Song. No PCP that I know is open 7 days a week which is really good because I hate making appointments so far back and the problem that you have might escalate. I've had terrible experiences with other doctors in the past, where I am early to my appointment and STILL have to wait over 2 hours, or when I see the doctor, I'm in and out in 5 minutes. I did a lot of research on zocdoc and finally came across Dr Song. I'm glad to say that I had a fairly painless first visit and followup. The staff manages time well and I didn't have to wait long for my appointment. She's extremely friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. She seems to really care about her patients and tries to make small talk rather than just treating you as a number. She's glad to answer any questions you may have and doesn't try to rush you out. I needed to make an appointment for allergy testing and Xiaoyan Song's office came up as #1 on my yelp search (awesome location, right on Roosevelt). I called their office and they made it very clear that Dr. Song was not able to see me that week BUT there were other doctors in the office that were able to see me on such short notice. Walk-ins are also welcome! The staff was very welcoming and friendly from the beginning and walked me through all sorts of vaccines and necessary treatments that were covered under my insurance that were overdue. The staff were able to communicate with me in both English and Chinese which is a nice surprise. In the past, I've dealt with many only Chinese-speakers and although my Chinese in not bad, there were many medical terms that I was unfamiliar with. They were able to diagnose my allergies (there were a lot!) within a week along with the regular check up results. There were some issues with my insurance as well but the staff were eager to make calls and clarify with the insurance companies right away. Overall, I had a great experience and plan to have them as my PCP. read more

Dr. Song is very friendly and dedicated doctor. Her office and hours are convenient for me. The nurses are very attentive and caring as well. Her receptionists are competent and speedy. Combine everything together and you have a great medical team in a convenient location. - They are closed on Thursdays, but opened every other day. - The building is right by the subway entrance and to the left of a Capital One Bank. - New office location! I walked over to the regular spot and got confused when her office wasn't there. The Suite number was the same though. Apparently, she moved down the hall to a bigger office. - The waiting area is spacious now. My rating is mainly for the front desk staff, as Dr. Song and her team are AMAZING and I highly recommend them to be your primary physician!!!!!! ***UPDATE Now we made another appointment for online session with Dr. Song and using our "new" insurance for the third time, the front desk first claimed our insurance is still not reflecting Dr. Song as our primary doctor (which we already changed and confirmed with them two months ago!!!), and then proceeded to tell us to wait a whole hour AGAIN and said we did not book the appointment for online session. WTF. Had to get their manager on the phone who resolved the issue immediately and she checked us in to wait for the session. *** However, after having been visiting them for a long time, we've encountered numerous problems with their receptionists. They have many receptionists but can't seem to get simple things right. For example, when we showed up in person and waited for our turn before our appointment time, my file was placed in queue but my name never called and they skipped me and I had to ask how much longer when they realized what had happened. They sent prescriptions to the wrong pharmacy when asked to and confirmed the location and name of the pharmacy twice. They failed to inform me when a requested doctor wasn't available on the day of my appointment. And now, when we've scheduled for online sessions twice: the first time, when I called in before my appointment time and they still made me wait more than an hour before being able to link me in to the doctor. Don't overbook by a whole hour just because it's tough times for everyone. What's the point of an appointment? And the second time another doctor I requested called out and my appointment was not until noon but they also failed to call me to let me know. Unbelievable waste of time and total lack of courtesy. And mind you, they have so many receptionists and not many patients going to the office during the pandemic. I called for make appointment, the staff was very nice and explained all the questions since I was a new visitor. Once I got there, I didn't have to wait much. And i meet Dr. Song and I found out why she gets good reviews. She is friendly, kind,caring, good listener, and spend times about my health situation. I met other Dr's before but it's hard to find Dr who shows cares and focus on me. One more, her staff's are also nice and professional. They work hard and fast so I didn't have to wait much. Thanks to Anna H. for her review of Dr. Song's practice otherwise I would have never found this gem. Since finding out about Dr. Song I have made her my primary care physician. One problem I've always had with doctors in flushing is the language barrier I've had with the doctors and staff. Thankfully Dr. Song and her staff are a welcome change. Most of the staff here are bilingually fluent in English and multiple forms of Chinese. Although it seems to be a inconsequential change for a doctors office, it goes a great distance in making me feel more welcome. The office and staff work very efficiently, having me swap in-between rooms to get different procedures done. I think I had my annual check up done within 30-45 mins. My one qualm with Dr. Song's practice is that it doesn't take credit cards, so you may have to pay your copay up front in cash. Thankfully they do give you a receipt so you can claim the copay from your FSA. Despite this, I will likely continue going to Dr. Song's practice for her efficient and fun staff. Dr. Xiaoyan Song, herself, is a great doctor and has great bedside manner. The wait times are not that bad depending on the day and time you go. But I've become increasingly discouraged by her staff. For example my recent visit, my insurance requires that you call in for eligibility. Although the worker who took my information was pleasant, her fellow co-worker who was supposed to help make the call voiced displeasure at the task because it was going to take 20 minutes or more to verify. I was feeling really sick and was already waiting for awhile when they said this. They also only accept cash and check copayment of which I had only credit (not faulting them, just a tip). My husband and I started going to Dr Song after searching endlessly for a primary care physician. Finally after a long search we found her. She is located in flushing queens on Roosevelt ave. I have to say that Dr. Song is a very sweet and compassionate physician. She also has quite a sense of humor, every time we go there's always a laugh involved. The office staff from the front desk to the MAs are always very nice. We never wait more then 10 minutes to be called in. They also do in office testing! Which was amazing. Who wants to go to multiple facilities to do testing. They offer in house lab work( blood work/injections) and also onsite radiology exams. (Abd ultrasound, thyroid u/s, etc) If your looking for a primary care physician, I definitely recommend Dr. Song read more

Workers there are very nice and efficient. After switching doctors and meeting Dr song she is very nice and even knows how to crack a joke at times, very funny and easy to get along with. Not even her but there is a young female doctor that is very nice and helpful as well. Don't understand why most people wait so long for Doctor song when there are other great doctors there too. Usually some nurses would slap your hand so the veins will pop out if you a little chubby but one of the nurses after 10 seconds of feeling my hand she was able to quickly find it and withdraw blood, very cool and efficient from my point of view. She's very personable, thoughtful, is great at reading you in a way, and takes the time to really discuss things with you. She is funny as well, which is a plus. There is no better PCP-MD Period. Case Closed. I met Doctor Song on a July 4th weekend about 5 years ago (maybe 6) she had recently opened her practice. Not only was it one of the biggest holiday weekends of the year, she was also open on SUNDAY of that weekend. Very much In need of a doctor, I called was told "come over" and the rest, as the saying goes, "is history". Doctor Song is compassionate, considerate, kind and caring and she tells it like it is, direct to the point and will answer any and all questions. Since I met her she has cared for my son, his wife and my wife. Doctor songs goes the extra mile, works days, nights and weekends and before I forget, she has a great sense of humor. Received a message in the afternoon the day before my appointment that they are out of network but I can still be seen if I pay out of pocket. I rearranged my schedule at work so I can make it to this appointment. Insurance should be checked in advance so situations like this don't happen. Seeing so many high ratings for a doctor conveniently closer than Manhattan, I decided to give it a shot with low expectations. And it has unfortunately met with the worse experience. Came in for a possible flu and decided to just do the annual. - Majority of the staff are unhelpful and extremely disorganized (the office left me a VM after my first visit. I called back an hour later and after 3-4 women unable to figure out who called me or why and being hung up on by one, they finally tell me I need to come in for abnormal results on my blood test). - While the actual MD is your average kind of Flushing doctor (friendly enough, not thorough, and rushed due to the walk-in policy), I saw the PA for the most part. Now here is what really pushed the adrenaline. In the first visit, she doesn't introduce who she is so I assumed she was the MD as she came in after the medical assistant. Proceeded to lecture me like a 5-year old about not having done a Pap smear and then telling me their office offers it (I declined as I prefer to get it done with a gyn). She is also the one who requested this return visit only to simply tell me I need to come back for another blood test in a couple of months to monitor the levels. No additional testing, personal questions (diet, history, etc), recommendations, or any sliver of information (possible causes, what to look out for) despite my questioning. And so I threw my first ever calm hissy fit at a doctor's office. "Why did I need to return for a visit if you are not conducting additional testing? Just to tell me I need to come back in two months?" "You stated you would make comments on the online portal where my test results should be, so again, why did I have to come in?" "Am I actually going to be meeting with the MD or is it just you?" To confirm my intuitions of her, she tried very hard not to roll her eyes with my line of questioning but was unsuccessful. Said I can meet with the MD if I wanted to (in which I said yes). Returned minutes later to say the MD has urgent matters and can't see me but they will return the copay. Will follow up those test results with a more expensive but competent office through a coworker's recommendation in the city. Positives: - It seems they open seven days and they do take credit cards (a prior review stated they hadn't during their visit). And for those who urgently need to see a doctor, as mentioned, they do walk-ins. - The medical assistant during this second and last non-visit was very helpful. She actually followed up in the waiting room and provided me with the portal information (since no one gave this to me on my first visit) and offered me a printed copy of the test results. Wish I knew her name because she was the most professional one of them all. Tip: - If you have admin questions, make sure you ask multiple people. Have been told different answers depending on who I've asked. Don't trust reviews (even this one). I'm sure this office works for some but it's a very personal experience so try reaching out to people you know with similar expectations for recommendations.
