Food: With this being my first time to Nashville, I had high expectations of their BBQ and well.. this place did not disappoint in the slightest. The brisket was well balanced along with the chicken. The sides went perfect with the proteins. Greens were straight seasoned to perfection. Service: Fast and easy Ambiance: Has that old school vibe to it. Feels like a BBQ joint. Make your way there!

Shawn. We have no food pics as we dug in quickly.

This is a nice sit down BBQ place. We were first time guests so we were treated to yummy cheddar biscuits. The big baked potato was huge. The brisket sandwich is just the right portion. I ate half now and half later. The brisket was good but I like a bit more smoke and black pepper. It was lean and tender though. Our server Shawn was super friendly and fun. And Ciera the hostess was sweet as well.

Jim and Nick's was catered for a meeting I attended. The food was great especially the corn muffin. The food was delivered hot and fresh. The chicken and pork are tender and very tasty. All the sauces were available, as we're buns, and sides. Great choice for the meeting.

I've come here a few times. I love how they can accommodate large parties. We were a group of 15 and they didn't miss a beat. All the staff was attentive and kept our orders right. All the food came in almost simultaneously which is amazing service. The food was all warm and tasted fresh. The drinks were interesting but this is a bbq place not a bar. Alcohol was just a plus. There is plenty of parking outside.

Awesome BBQ spot! They give a basket of free cheese biscuits (you can get more too) which are DELICIOUS! Highly recommend them with butter and a little bit of their bbq sauce on top. My sister and I both loved their peach lemonade too, very refreshing! I ordered a bowl of their chili and a side of baked beans. My husband tried their Carolina-style pork sandwich. Loved my meal, it was sweater weather when we went so my dish along with the cheese biscuits was a nice cozy vibe. And very filling, surprisingly. Unfortunately our waitress said she was triple sat and it appeared she was also the bartender for the day so she was running around and thus our service was a bit lacking. It took a while for us to get our bill and we saw her just chatting with a customer at the bar. Was almost tempted to go up front and pay at that point if it was an option. Hopefully next time we visit they don't have their staff handling too many tables. Other than the service we had a good experience. Everyone enjoyed their food and I'd say this is a restaurant I would come back to for more!

Food was fantastic. My wife loves salads. She got the salad that has the brisket on it, she said it was the best salad she has ever had.

It was very good. Ive been all over for BBQ and I'd give this a 7 for the brisket and that's high compared to Texas and KC.

The fried chicken is cooked to order so I went with the white meat option (breast and wing) and I added a thigh. For sides I selected the pinto beans, cabbage, and sweet potatoes along with a fountain drink. You may have to wait 15 minutes for the chicken...but the chicken Adrian serves up would make your Granny jealous. This was some of the best fried chicken I've had in a very long time, crispy skin that was not overly seasoned and the meat was tender and juicy. While the chicken was excellent, the sides were saying "you ain't tasted nothing yet"!!! Pinto beans had a great depth to the flavor with a rich sauce and tender beans. The sweet potatoes were not overly sweetened (like candied) and you could taste the sweet potato, slightly firm, and reminded me of Thanksgiving. I saved the best for last...the cabbage. Many times cabbage offered is just boiled, but Adrian adds some secret ingredients and it is awesome. So while the meat was excellent, the sides are created in true Southern tradition. Several homemade desserts were available...but I was stuffed. The location may be difficult to get into with traffic, but the food that awaits you is well worth it. Pay Adrian a visit and enjoy some good old home cooking right here in Murfreesboro.

Date of Visit: July 1, 2026…read more After driving all day the previous day we were wanting a real good county breakfast. My wife told me she had just the place in mind and I've been there before too (City Cafe). But when we arrived we saw they were permanently closed, dang. I could taste it. Then the wife recommended Puckett's and they are just around the the corner, a short walk. As we walked up on the place I noticed the marque, retro. The inside was bit as well. We were quickly seated and drink orders taken. This was a weekday morning visit so not too busy. Looking over the menu, I may not have looked close enough, I decided on the "Build your own Omelette". Onions, tomatoes and pepper jack cheese. The wife ordered the B&G. I noticed I wasn't asked about my side? I wounded potatoes. Also rye bread with my omelette, hmmm. Our food arrived, all looked good. I saw my order came with what looked like frozen type of potatoes, perfect squares. I was expecting something home cooked, fried potatoes with burnt edges. Flavor. The wife's B&G looked great, two basques and potatoes as well. The omelette was good, plenty of everything and filled. The wife said here B&G was really good and she's a B&G expert. Over all, all was good just disappointed with the potatoes option and no rye toast. Perhaps they could consider fresh cut potatoes along with the frozen type. Also maybe offer some type of toast. Give the place try if your on the square. Peace.

Someone studies demographics, invents a "concept,"…read morehangs a few Edison bulbs from the ceiling and charges you eighteen dollars for something your grandmother made better. Fried Tater Cafe is not that place. This is the kind of restaurant you hope to stumble across somewhere outside of town. An old building, a little history, straightforward Southern food and people who seem considerably more concerned with whether you ate enough than whether their plates are Instagram-ready. And then there are the fried taters. Crispy, salty, unapologetically fried potatoes--the sort of food that reminds you mankind occasionally gets things exactly right. Nobody needed to deconstruct them. Nobody needed to drizzle truffle oil over them. They needed hot grease, seasoning and somebody in the kitchen who knows when to pull them out. The rest of the food follows the same philosophy: familiar, filling and comforting. This isn't a place trying to reinvent Southern cooking. Thank God. It's trying to feed you. The old building and its history make the whole thing even better. You sit there eating fried potatoes and realize people have been passing through this little corner of Tennessee for generations. Places like this increasingly disappear, replaced by chains and developments that could be anywhere in America. Fried Tater Cafe still feels like somewhere. Come hungry. Order the taters. Don't count calories. You'll survive. Five stars.

Date of Visit: July 2, 2026…read more On this afternoon my wife wanted to take me on a country drive after an overwhelming day in Murfreesboro the day before. Murfreesboro used be an easy navigable town, not no more, so many people. So off we went. Heading out towards Chapel Hill we came up the Fried Tater Cafe. After yesterday (if your following) I needed something authentic to the area and this looked the part. We both agreed to stop. Walked inside and I knew right away this going to be great. We were greeted and told to sit anywhere. Nice. Found a booth against the wall and were given menus and drink orders taken. Drinks came while still viewing the menu. I almost wanted a burger but chose the patty melt with coleslaw. I was going to have fries but they have those Checkers type fries. My wife had the BLT with Tots and after having a couple of her tots I should of had the tots. My wife even agrees, these are the best tots she has ever had and she has tots when ever offered. These had the crispy outside that you can bite into without crushing and fluffy innerds mmmmm. But getting back to my patty melt. The menu said it came with thousand island dressing. I would usually hold the TI, but now I'm in a phase where I order with no substitutions. So I took it with the Thousand island. And so glad I did, it did something to it. Don't know if everyone does this but wow. And the slaw was good too, though I wish I had gotten the tots, next time tots. The wife and I will be back here next time in town for sure, if just for the drive. Peace.
