AAA sent out Jim Smith Wrecker Service to assist me this evening after receiving a flat on I-40E just outside of Conway on a cross country trip. AJ literally arrived about 20 minutes or less after the dispatch request was made. It wasn't just me, but also my kids and pets, so I felt a bit stressed trying to figure out how to handle everything. Unfortunately all tire shops were closing in 5 minutes so it would require an overnight stay. AJ went above and beyond with kindness. He dropped us at a local hotel and my car at Discount Tire. (So glad this all happened only a mile away from an exit with everything needed to make this easier!) He didn't only do his job but recognized my need for someone to show they understand being human and helping them be seen when life happens. If you had a wrecker truck with a black SUV on the flatbed portion, and towing a truck in Ash Flat at 4:55 pm on Friday 6/27, he was driving so close to my vehicle that I could only see his headlights,,, and then passed me going up a hill with the solid yellow line, almost caused a wreck head-on. He whipped back in the lane in front of me almost causing the truck he was towing to sideswipe me. He's going to kill someone with the way he's driving. I give these folks no stars!!!! What u did to my dad and the other lady involve was wrong!!!! I know everyone has to make money but how a towing service thinks it's legal to charge 500 for a tow of less than a mile. 328.50 is way too much too FYI!!!!!! And don't blame it on the fact the state police called.......,How do you sleep at night owner? You tend to me ppl on their bad days! Be it wreck or tow for other reasons. DO NOT GET YOUR CAR OR WHATEVER YOU HAVE TOWED FROM JIM SMITH. They like to call their customers liars and defend their messed up drivers when it comes to a mistake. I got my truck towed with a WHOLE different issue but when I got my truck back the transmission was not working. I've talked to several other tow truck companies and EVERYONE has claimed the only reason that can happen is from a TOW TRUCK and especially if it was not properly put on right. I've called several times trying to talk to the owner because it is not fair at all that I have to pay 2k out of my pocket for something I DID NOT DO. They didn't even want to work with me or assure me I'd be taken care of. I paid a big amount for my truck to be towed from Conway to Fort Smith so yes I'm UPSET and yet they still treat their customers this way. When my car broke down on Route 40 on a cross country trip, my Subaru representative sent Jim Smith Wrecker service. The driver, Tiny, was very kind and professional. I was feeling pretty anxious but he put me at ease and reassured me. He took me to a nice, new local hotel where I was able to manage service to my car and for the rest of my trip home to the East Coast. I was able to reach the owner by phone early the next morning and arrange for him to drop my car at the dealership. What a relief to be treated so well by strangers who don't know me. If I could give a negative rating for Jim Smith Towing, I would. They towed my car near Christmas, and were promptly unavailable for the next four days. However, because my car was on their lot, I was still charged a beautiful large fee for holding my car that I didn't want towed in the first place. By the next day that they were open, I had racked up $290 worth of fees. They also don't pull parts, so if I left the car there, I would already be in the hole by $20. Brand new alternator, car still runs, but please keep my running vehicle, and let me pay you to keep it! These people are literally Hitler. Worst. Service. Ever. read more
