Friendly, efficient staff. Very clean establishment. The sandwiches are terrific! Almost always enjoy the "Vito".

Great higher-end grocery store near Woodlake Inn and in the strip mall area!…read more We were here for the weekend visiting, so weren't grocery shopping - but we had heard they made great breakfast and lunch sandwiches, so gave them our business a few times since we were staying at the hotel in walking distance. It was a bit on the pricier side, but seemed to fit the vibe of the store and clientele. I got a matcha in the morning (a bit grainier than I like) and a protein shake in the afternoon since I missed the 3pm food cutoff (which was a little chalky for my taste). The service was a bit slow and unfocused, so I ended up waiting a bit both times. I loved that they had complimentary samples of food and drink out - and both were delicious! Our friends that ate breakfast and lunch here raved about the food, but I wasn't able to get anything besides drinks during our stay.

Enjoy this place so much, I go out of my way to visit…read more My primary reason... it's one of the closer places to me that sells my favorite coffee (Colectivo). But... I have found so many other reasons. Like their awesome in store Cafe, or their great deli/meat department. They also have a remarkable wine/liquor and beer section with so many unique spirits to chose from. All this is pretty remarkable for a small grocery store. The people who work there seem to be much more invested in their job compared to a regular chain grocery store. (And are mostly adults) Yes, the cost is most likely higher than big box, but to me it's worth (at least once in a while) a few more bucks to have better choices and great service.

Their was 1 women waiting on her order and after she received hers it was approx 6-7 minutes before the only women working on what looked to be 3 subs by herself noticed me and asked if I had been helped yet, I told her no ma'am and she stopped what she was doing and took my order. I finally got my order and paid, the women who cashed me out (not the pleasent women who took my order) never smiled or said "Thank you", maybe she was having a bad day or was just tired..not a major deal but I always believe customer service is a MUST. *I also made eye contact with an older gentlemen that was working in the back area who came out to restock the clean cups and gave him a smile with none given back* I ordered the Sicilian sub and It was spicy as it advertised so I enjoyed the first half but the second have lost it's appeal due to the spiceiness of the sub so I definitely will not be getting that again. I did see a small dining are where you could order your meal and enjoy it there. I liked the bottles of wine they have displayed as decor. I may or may not be back but a smile and thank you go along way.

So right out of the gate we're not doing well. Once the soup got here, they redeemed themselves. French onion soup was delicious. Lots of onions, perfect amount of cheese, croutons were seasoned well. Now I will say, the pretzel was ok. The honey horseradish sauce they served with it though? Outstanding. I'd eat that by the spoonful. Be careful though, it DOES pack a punch. I had the Corned beef on light rye and my wife had the tuna sandwich. My bread was nice and soft, well flavored. The corned beef was delicious as well, even though it's just a sandwich. Hers? She liked the tuna, but was skeptical about the bread. It was a bit more firm for her liking, but she DID ask for French bread. Didn't take away from the fact it was excellent. Potato salad that came with it? Meh. It's potato salad. Nothing snazzy about it. But it was still appetizing. Just wouldn't say it's out of the park. Overall, I'd like to try a few more things from the menu as they have a range of delicious items. Nice establishment, friendly people, and nice atmosphere.

The quality of food was disappointing. Seemed like the sandwiches had been left under a heat lamp which dried out the bread. Made it taste stale! Over priced for the quality delivered!

I tried a tuna melt, having been underwhelmed by a breakfast experience on a prior visit and since I don't eat meat. the sandwich was good and I enjoyed the challah bread until about halfway through when I hit a fishy bite and was put off. The accompanying fries were very good. BF really enjoyed his Reuben, which was filling and meaty - thus the 4 stars. I'm waiting for a winner from Benji's, but as a vegetarian, I might be waiting a long time.

There were several servers hanging around and it wasn't clear where I could order. Sat at the counter and was ignored for 5 min. The server came over and told me to go to the deli area. It was a challenge to understand the clerk. A quart and pint of soup with a bagel and lox was $40. While I waited i read recent reviews and was alarmed. What happened to the best Jewish deli in our area? The lox tasted very fishy, like smoked fish. Unlike any lox I'd ever eaten. I asked for capers and regretted it; there were so many and with only the tiniest shmear of cream cheese, it was inedible. Too salty to be edible. The bagel was ok, but couldn't eat much of it. The chicken soup with mishmosh also disappointed. The lid was swimming in grease. I discarded it carefully. There was 1 matzo ball (ok), tons of noodles (meh) rice (ugh - underdone and inedible) and a kreplach ( I had to spit it out - filling was rancid and sour). The broth was tasteless and unseasoned. What happened to Benji's? So sad.
