I stumbled upon Jimmy's Painting on my way to work and saw their advertisement with their contact number. I gave them a call and within a few hours, they swung on by to my home to see the work I needed; which was finishing to paint my cabinet doors, drawers, and shelves throughout my house, due to myself not having enough patience nor time to finish alone. 57 - Cabinet Doors & Drawers 7 - Shelves When they came over, they were very friendly, helpful, and understanding to my concerns and work needing to be done. They provided me a fair quote for the work and immediately got to work; within 2-days, they were done! They communicated well and did a great job overall; some small, minor imperfections here and there on the paint coating, but nothing majorly noticeable. I've attached some photos of my kitchen and living room below, showcasing the work. Like I mentioned, overall great work on customer service, communication, pricing, and timeliness. I'd love to use Jimmy's Painting services again in the future, when I have another project. read more

Jimmy and his crew may know how to do painting but do NOT trust his claims to doing hardwood floors after agreeing to a install price that was 30% more than typical ('Jimmy is very busy') He brought in his crew who worked real fast, but turns out also they didnt know what they were doing - the floor wood panels started to pop like crazy all over the place So, Jimmy brings back the same skilled crew, and they rip out the panels, only to have me find that they had not bothered to apply glue evenly to the panels, and instead blaming me/kids for walking on them !) - which i /they never did for at least few days. Now 3 months later, even more panels are popping up all over the place - Unless you want to waste your time and $, Jimmy's painting simply should not be hired to do hardwood or similarly complex jobs. read more

FOUND MY NEW LOCAL PAINTER I needed a couple of wooden shutters painted that were on the upper story of my two-story house. Most local painters either flaked out or never returned my messages, likely because it was a pretty small job. Contacted Jimmy and got a response the same day with a reasonable quote based on my description and picture. Scheduled him to come out and he showed up on time and quickly and professionally set up and prepped and painted the shutters in no time. During my conversation with him, I mentioned that I had already painted a couple of the lower shutters and my front door with the same color. He took a look at my front door and noticed that I had missed a couple of spots and immediately offered to touch them up at no charge. Additionally, he rolled an extra coat on the shutters that I had painted just to smooth things out. While he was there I asked him to take a look at my house (3,000 sq/ft) and tell me how much you would charge to paint the entire thing. He gave me a very reasonable quote and discussed how he would go about it. I've been around painting and have done enough painting in my lifetime to know that what he was telling me was spot on. Found out that he has over 20 years experience so he knows what he's doing. I found Jimmy to be a very nice, personable guy and great to work with. Would absolutely recommend him. read more

He and his crew worked on our house for about 2.5 days; they were very thorough with wood rot and needed repairs, as well as calking and other items to be fixed. This happened some time ago, but I wanted to caution others considering getting work done by Jimmy. Got a quote for painting the exterior of the house from Jimmy and agreed to start the paining after a week. Then discussed some other work. Jimmy said he could do it. As soon as he started on that, I mentioned to him my concern about how he was doing it. It was flimsy and of very poor quality. He wanted to rush thru it. Instead of discussing it with me, his immediate reaction was "If you don't like it, it is your problem. This is the way I do it". I asked him to stop and leave. I have had an exterior paint contract with Jimmy's painting company, and I had very bad experience with him on the contractual terms. He told me to do 2 coats of paint and did only one. And when I asked him about the second one he started talking trash and used foul language just like that. So I had to asked him to leave my property immediately and he threatened not to leave. Finally I had to call Fremont Police. He did not finish even the first coat and left the house with job half done. He kept on threatening to sue me as I only paid him for the 2/3rd of the agreed money because of the incomplete job. So then he mentioned that 2 coats were to count as one coat of primer and one coat of base paint. He also has very poor cleaning habit, never cleans without telling him. He did not cover the plants next to the walls. Painted the door without any masking tape and never bothered to scrap the old paint or even prime the door before putting new color. I felt that I was tricked or cheated by this Jimmy contractor. So please be very clear on how you want your house painted with all the detailed quotes in written and signed by him before you hire Jimmy's painting. read more

If you want your paint job done quickly, Jimmy's Painting is for you. If you want your paint job done well, then you should probably find someone else. They are very fast, but they are also very careless, messy, and lack common sense (examples below). We hired Jimmy's Painting to remove our popcorn (acoustic) ceilings and re-texture them, and paint the newly textured ceilings and some of the walls. I am familiar with re-texturing since we have been re-doing the ceilings room by room the past few years. The guy who did the first three rooms did a good job, but his dry wall guy retired. We hired someone else to do our master bedroom last year and he dd a good job but there was a scheduling mix-up and he couldn't do this year's ceilings at the time we needed. We hired Jimmy's painting because a neighbor told me they did a great job on her ceilings and their few Yelp reviews were positive. I don't know why it would be different, but my experience was more like a Three Stooges film.. Unlike every other company I dealt with (or gotten estimates from), Jimmy's Painting doesn't cover the walls when removing the popcorn and re-texturing. Their "method" is to spray the texture using as few dropcloths as possible, then wash the texture off the places it doesn't belong. In theory, this method could work fine, since the texture material dissolves easily in water. But this only works if it is actually washed off. Instead the texture was washed off in some places (usually leaving a residue that I washed off later) and just painted over in other places - like on vents and windowsills. Once it is painted over, it can't be washed off. I had to sand my windows sills and repaint them. Builders apply popcorn ceilings because it hides all their mistakes. The painters who re-textured other rooms in the past evened out any dents or bulges before re-texturing. Jimmy's Painting just textured over these spots without fixing them first. Some of these dents are very noticeable. I walked into the living to find two workers painting the trim around the windows. One guy was painting with white and the other guy was using beige. These windows are only a few feet apart and they were not even supposed to paint the trim, just touch up wherever needed. I was in the garage, which was a forty foot walk from where they were, but they didn't bother to ask me what color it should be. The workers at their lunch in my back yard. This is fine with me since we have a picnic table and shade there. However, my dog discovered that they left their garbage in the yard. There were empty cans and one of them had thrown chicken bones and orange peels in my plants! There is a garbage can 3 feet away from where they were sitting and they had to walk past the city garbage cans on their way to the back yard. They painted over some outlets (and all cable/internet jacks). When I pointed this out, Jimmy told me that my outlets would look better in white and I should have my electrician change them all. I told him I wasn't planning to change them, so he wiggled one of them and said they need to be replaced anyway because they are loose. I guess he thought I was too dumb to notice that it could be fixed by tightening a screw. When I was writing their check, Jimmy told me that I should pay him extra for all the extra work they did! Any extra work they did was either something they decided to do on their own or something I had them do to correct their mistakes. For instance, they re-textured 3 walls in a room that they were not painting. I don't have any idea why. Jimmy tried to make it sound like they did me a favor, but I pointed out that now that they re-textured, I would have to prime before I repainted it. So I told him that they need to prime the wall when they prime the ceiling. After Jimmy's Painting was done with our house, we removed our carpets and touched up some paint before the new carpets were installed. The leftover paint Jimmy gave us doesn't match on one wall, but does matches in the other places that were supposed to be that color - The paint he gave us for touch up is in a Kelly Moore can and is is labeled "Close to Swiss Coffee" which is odd because Kelly Moore keeps Swiss Coffee in stock already mixed (that is one of the reasons I chose it, because I could always get matching paint - if it were the actual paint). I tried using real Kelly Moore pre-mixed Swiss Coffee but that doesn't match either. I realize that this must sound unbelievable, things like covering outlets are something even the most novice painters know to do, but this is all true. I half expected someone to walk in a tell me to smile because I was on candid camera. I wish I could just forget about the awful experience I had with Jimmy's painting, but that is hard to do when they left about 20 footprints in paint on the walkway leading up to my front door. read more

Definitely would not use them again. Much better experience with other painters. Pros: The wife who answers the phone is very nice. Price was competitive. Willing to negotiate with me on price. Did a very good job restoring a ceiling panel (they have a good carpenter on staff) Cons: Knocked my satellite dish out of alignment. Didn't paint some trim on side of house as agreed. Had to argue with Jimmy. Not very response at all on a follow-on request for a quote. Had to call them several times to finally get a quote. Didn't have the wood panels that matched my siding. Said it "wouldn't be a problem". Had to argue over the final price. Charged me about $200 extra. read more

Last year, 2012, I again contracted with Jimmy's painting to do an interior paint job of my home. I requested all rooms, except the kitchen to be painted. In addition, I had all the doors and window trims painted. Jimmy had great suggestions for color schemes and which walls should be painted bright versus dark colors. I was very impressed with his color and decorating suggestions. I needed to paint my house quick for move in that I called Jimmy 's painting crews . When they came to do the job , they recomment to replace the hard wood floor and do some electrics outlet damage . They cost were cheap that was I agreed . But .... finally .... I agreed w/s HEIDI , they worked fast but seemly they didn't have carelees for the cleaning . Also they didn't have any license for GC - general contruction . I don't know what happend if unfortunatively our house got fired ? They got all jobs without license from electric, marble , hard wood floor .....ete ????? It was my false to ask them the licenses before signed contract . I had my exterior painted by Jimmy's Painting at the end of last month and I am completely satisfied with the job. They were courteous and punctual each morning to start work. My garage door was in very bad shape from weather and not having been painted in quite awhile. Once it was repaired and painted it looks like new again. They also were able to fix parts of my wood trim which had dry rot and I am not sure all painters will do that without going to an outside contractor. The crew seems to work well as a team with each knowing their roles and I was told that they have been with the company a long time. I was given a written estimate which called for one coat of primer and one coat of finishing paint and that is what they did to my satisfaction. They cleaned up very well after themselves. Once again, I was completely satisfied with the job and would not hesitate to recommend this company to others. Jimmy's Painting was hired to paint the exterior of my house in Fremont. He did an outstanding job. He explained the process to me, i.e. power washing, filling the cracks with caulking and replacing rotted boards. He had great suggestions on the choice of colors. His crew performed all of those steps meticuously. I am glad I followed his suggestion and did not use a fourth color on the trim!. I have received numerous compliments from my neighbors, friends and real estate agents on how great the paint improved the appearance of my home. We recently had our exterior stucco home painted by Jimmy's painting and are very pleased with the job. He and his crew were always on time and worked very hard to do the best job possible. They used quality paint, Kelly Moore and since he is also a licensed contractor he was able to fix a few dry root issues that I had prior to painting. I had my house painted 2 weeks ago by Jimmy and his 'crew.' He came highly recommended by two friends here in Fremont and I was not disappointed.
