While the painting was done carefully and looks great, they decided to power wash a brick walkway which we did not request ("we wanted the yard to look nice and refreshed"). The power-washing took almost two hours of the worker's time and a TON of water. I am NOT going to be happy when we see our water bill next month. I worked with David to get my rental property refreshed. He worked with me and my tenants to find a time to come by and give a quote for the job. Later on he met me at a short notice on a weekend to decide on a paint color choice and at that time we decided to change the work order and get more work done. Because we found their prices so reasonable, we used Proactive Painting to not just paint our indoor walls and doors but also to refinish out kitchen island and to also power wash the the outside of the property and the driveway. David was very patient throughout the process and answered all my questions, making suggestions (but not pushing for more work) and helped me arrive at the final work order. He shared the work order online and it was very detailed. Their quotes included the materials, so it was easy to see a single number and decide if it worked for us. I can't recommend Raymond and Proactive Painting enough. I hired Ray for a full interior painting job for a 2-bedroom condominium: walls, ceiling, trim, and doors. And it wasn't a simple one-color job: counting the two ceiling paints (flat for most of it, semigloss for the bathrooms), there were 13 different paints for this job. First, what matters most: the job came out absolutely perfect. Ray and his crew used excellent quality materials, did extremely thorough prep, and worked with an incredible eye for detail. Each paintable surface got at least two coats, and in some cases, more. The condo has a ton of fairly unforgiving natural light and Ray didn't stop painting a surface until he himself was satisfied it was perfect. In one instance, he even cleverly used paint to visually correct for a structural flaw in the kitchen (a poorly-aligned soffit). Professionalism and communication was flawless. He was on-time every day of the job, stuck to the schedule, never left a mess, and was super responsive with phone calls, emails, and texts. He was also understanding and adaptable when I personally made a mistake that set the job back by a day - giving him the wrong color code for the ceiling paint. I noticed many little things I didn't even request, such as making sure my self-closing front door never slammed so as not to bother my neighbors. After a year of delayed, failed, and largely unprofessional home improvement jobs with other contractors, Proactive Painting was a breath of fresh air. I received a few quotes for painting the old Victorian house and finally selected Proactive Painting. I am glad to have made this selection! Raymond, the owner, is prompt in providing me a detailed quote. What makes this quote stands out is the details provided eg the prep work such as scraping, sanding, priming the areas with peeling old paint, etc. The other quotes I received merely provides a price. Most importantly this company also takes good care of employees by offering insurance, etc. During the course of their work, I do drop by every 2 to 3 days. I can see the pride the workers put in their work. They are meticulous. They did a tedious work in preping the house for painting. No short cuts! Also as an example, there was a missing wood design motif. They communicated this to Raymond and he promptly notified me. This allows me to quickly buy a replacement and install the new motif.
