One company with the Initials of SP- S= Smart But not in my book, the guy never came out to give us a thorough Bid. I merely submitted photos and the measurements his bid came back for materials and labor that's all, very vague and incomplete in my experience. Target painting was highly recommended by a friend it was the best decision ever for us. Isban came out and met with us looked over the job and gave us pointers, suggestions and it was the best decision for us. one of 2 ethical businesses with volume in stucco and painting. Didn't use them Had 2 holes in apartment from removed AC units. Quoted 700-800 which is the correct price. Everybody else who has no volume quotes 1k or above. This and lopez plastering. The ones on thumbtack and most on yelp are incompetent. I am very glad I went with Target Painting. I had to remove ivy from our house and Ibsan and his team did a great job removing the remaining ivy remnants by powerwashing and sanding the stucco surface. They were able to match the paint and make our outside wall look like new. I felt that they went above and beyond by getting to hard to reach areas and we are very satisfied with their work. We especially appreciated that Hugo came back the next day to touch up a few things that we had noticed. Both him and Jose were great!They also charge a fair price for their service. The Stonegate Body, Carbon Trim, and Redwood front door were bold and beautiful. Makes our house stand out in the neighborhood! We only have our exterior painted. We have a 2 stories, stucco house with wood and metal trim. It's about 4600 sq ft. Having different painting projects and my family's experience (6 of them living in Los Altos and have hired various painters from most expensive to surprisingly cheap ones) the result between the highest bid and the middle range is unnoticeable. Paint is paint. It's not easy to screw up unless you have no skills nor any experience. Hence, pricing becomes the more important factors to consider. (I can't believe some painter charges extra on the metal rails where Target just includes everything) FACTS: 1. Out of 17 bids I have received, 1 of them was below Target's bid but 15 of them were much higher. On average 40% - 100% higher than Target's bid. Most of them were around 40% more. Please be aware I didn't inquire bids from big painting companies but mostly small firms. So if you go to some of those companies you heard from radio or TV, their bid will likely be higher than 100%. 2. We bought our own paints and we chose one of the better paints out there. Therefore, if they paint it properly, the result will always be good. Thus, it's important to look at their preparation, are they being careful etc. 3. They spent 1.5-2 days power wash and prepare the house for painting. My only concern was Ibsan (may be the boss, who met with us, gave us the bid and told us how much paints we need to buy) was a little late to inform us about paint needed. It'd have been much better if he informed us the first day. Still, we were able to get the paint to them before they start. 4. Ibsan wasn't the person who painted the house. Leon and Mario are the painters the whole time. Just 2 of them. 5. I was not in a hurry so when they told me it will take 6-8 days, I have no problem with that. They were able to finish the project within 8 days. Pros: - Leon and Mario were very hard working, even during the heat wave around 100 degree they didn't stop. - The preparation was pretty good. There are some minor issues but overall, they did a very good job. Again, the main thing is to prep the house properly for painting. The painting part was easy, they spray paint and use roller and brush on some area. - They were very accommodative, Leon repeatedly asked if there is anything I am not happy, let him know, they will make sure they do a good job. I have given them multiple requests and they fixed them all. - They did a relatively good job to fix the cracks around my house. It's not perfect and I'm not going to hold them to it because the stucco finish we have is level 5. Smooth finish, very difficult to hide the cracks or repair them. I am being reasonable and think that they have done a pretty good job in most cases. - The deal was 2 coats of paints and they did that, but I was concerned one side of the house always got the sun and point out some of the old paints not fully covered by the new (It could be the paint wasn't dry yet) and wonder if 2 coats were enough, they didn't even said another word and told me they will put on another coat, they have to prep the windows again and all... that flexibility is what I REALLY appreciate. Cons: - They promised to remove their equipments but took 2 days and still here. - For a 4600 sq ft house, there are couple spots that I thought was not perfect but it's not bad. We have to be reasonable and can't be too picky (even though I am pretty picky already) Conclusion: After seeing the result, I'm confident to say if I pay the highest bid painter, the result will probably be better but not noticeable. Hence, I'm very pleased with Target Painting. (Given stucco house is easier to paint than wood or other materials) read more

We were shocked by how meticulous and thorough the crew was! For our exterior painting project, they carefully prepared the house over 2 days, sealing gaps and cracks we hadn't even noticed, neatly masking complicated areas like garage window cutouts, replacing a piece of deteriorating wood trim, and even digging away a section of pebbles so that they could paint all the way to the bottom of the side of the house. They were consistently on time, courteous, and efficient, completing the painting over 2 additional days. Ibsan was easy to work with, from onsite quote to coordination of the crew & equipment. We appreciated that he runs his business with clear start, break, and stop times for his employees. There is no way to sugar coat this, our Willow Glen duplex rental property was (and still partly is on the exterior) slummy. There were things such as obvious & major termite damage in the bathroom, disgusting carpets, limits to electrical usage, original 1940's bathtub & tile & kitchen countertops, and other smaller, but, incessant issues. Our tenants of 4 years left to no surprise so we finally decided to fix as much that made sense for this rental so we could re-capture the fair market rental rates, increase value in the case that we wanted to sell/1031 exchange it, and have a property that we, along with our tenants, could be proud of. After calling 5 contractors we went with Ibsan & his team because they had the best value for us. They were available to start right away which contributed to lowering the units vacancy period, and they were also experienced and confident enough that they could demo and replace the part of the bathroom that had the termite damage down to the studs. After learning that the building hasn't been painted in over 25 years and that paint is actually crucial for keeping moisture [and therefore rot] out, I found Target Painting and chose them because of the Yelp reviews. The project was to paint the entire exterior and to match the existing colors. I ended up rescheduling my initial / estimate visit because of an unforeseen conflict, and they easily rescheduled me. The important thing to note is I wasn't made to feel like a burden or a troublemaker because of my rescheduling request, which made me feel even more comfortable to go with them. On the initial visit, Ibsan told me all the nearby buildings have their door painted the same color as the accent colors on decorative pieces, something I never noticed before. I agreed to paint my white door the accent color because it was a fun color. He gave me a quote, it seemed reasonable, so I agreed and we start in a couple of weeks. In total, the preparation and painting took 6 business days to complete. The crew were 3 people who demonstrated attention to detail and care. Our two story house in the Silver Creek area with a mix of stucco, stone and wood exterior had not been painted since it was built in 2004. The exterior paint was faded, stucco was cracked and the wood trim needed caulking. I obtained 3 quotes. Ibsan, the owner, walked the house with me, identified what needed to be done and provided a very competitive quote. I prepped the house by trimming bushes next to it and moving things away from the house. Three weeks later, his team of 3 painters began the process of pressure washing, caulking, filling cracks, masking, priming and painting. Ibsan found good matches for the stucco and wood colors. There was one large stucco crack that needed better blending and the team re-did it to make it appear almost seamless. After 7 days, the house looked like new. No modifications were needed to Ibsan's original quote. The team was very careful to avoid splashing paint on the windows, stone, patio and grounds. They were also careful not to damage the many bushes and shrubs around the house. They also found a crack in a cement roof tile and repaired it. They left extra paint for the stucco and wood.
