We were in a bad spot and stopped off here in desperation because this shop was listed as 24 hours service. When we got here at about 5:00 on a Saturday there was no one around. We called the number painted on the front of the building but the phone rang inside the building and no one answered. I left a message but never received a call back. So I would just recommend calling before you go out of your way to stop here (like we did) to make sure you get confirmation they will be there.

It felt like a tire issue, but tire pressure was good and everything looked fine with the car and the trailer. However, on the road we were getting horrible shaking. In desperation, we went 20 miles off our path to get to Balmorhea for a 24 hour repair shop. We limp the car there only to find that it's closed. We search frantically and my girlfriend finds Balmorhea Towing and Tires on some website. It took us a few minutes to find because they don't have an office, it's just a lot with a couple trailers, but we found someone to help us. I think his name was Jeff. He and Markus (*sp) we super helpful, figured out which tire was giving us trouble and put on the spare. They were able to diagnose that the problem was a quickly collapsing sidewall. They gave us instructions on speed and where to take it next and how far we could make it on the donut. My girlfriend and I are both transgender and being in the middle of nowhere in Texas, let's just say we weren't expecting any red carpets. But these guys were so kind, patient, and courteous to us both. I felt like I was at one of my home shops. This was in the middle of one of the worst travel days I've had and was such a bright spot and a saving grace. We really appreciate these folks!

I later discovered the dispatcher on the insurance end told Balmorhea that I needed gas. Thankfully Balmorhea came prepared for all issues and with a little creative use of various jacks, was able to get me back on the road later that night. So grateful that they are willing to drive such a far distance to get stranded motorists to safety.

After waiting for hours, I decided to use a different company since Mr. Davies told me he would take too long to get to where I was. However, after I was towed to my destination, I saw Mr. Davies looking into my car for no reason, ia different town. When I asked him what he was doing, he started harassing me and my family, demanding payment for a service he never provided. Despite giving him the little money we had left after paying for the towing expenses and a new tire, which was more than the call out fee that the towing company that I used charged, he wasn't satisfied and continued to threaten us. The whole experience was terrifying, especially since we were stranded in the middle of nowhere with no money. I wouldn't recommend anyone to use Robert Davies' towing service since he's unscrupulous and a scammer.

I called the parts store to see if they had a belt and they did. I then asked for a mobile mechanic recommendation. JCP was in the store at the time so I talked with him to make arrangements. They were there within 30 minutes and were able to make the repair. When I was sorting out payment he asked if the veteran was my friend. I informed him that I had just met him and saw he needed help. There was a pause and then JCP kindly deducted $100 from the bill. Have a bbq. & if you need any work done on your truck-take it some where else. I asked if the guy that owned the company if they can do wheel seals & he said yes of course! The guy put his Dad on my truck to do the work. 6 hours later, my truck was still not put back together yet. Hourly rate is way too high to have to stand out in the heat while they work on your truck. I would expect to pay $110 an hour in an air conditioned shop that had a bathroom & shower. But instead my Husband my two dogs and myself, sat in that south Texas heat for 6 hours. But they're really nice guys tho
