Second night to eat dinner here. But I have to tell you a funny story…read more When we entered, we asked for a table for two. The lady tried to put us at a table for two right by the front entrance. I asked her, "I'd like a table in the back please?" She turned and looked at me with the Evil Eye. Like the mother-in-law who can't stand you but puts up with you. She acquiesced and put us at a table in the back. Ordered spring rolls (2 per order) and pork shu mai (4 pieces) as appetizers. Spring rolls were vegetarian, nice and crispy with a decent amount of cabbage filling. Shu mai were good considering they tasted like the frozen variety. You need some soy sauce and chili oil for dipping. I couldn't find a shrimp dish I liked so I just went for shrimp fried rice instead of white rice. Caution, there were three whole shrimp cut in half in the dish so don't expect much shrimp in your fried rice. For dinner, I stayed with the Hot and Sour Pork and Sauteed Bean Sprouts for a veggie side dish. We tried their Rice Noodles with Beef, similar to Beef Chow Fun, but with thinner rice noodles. Again, three pieces of flank steak beef in the entire dish. Not too bad. It was tasty and not too greasy. We finished with a Lemon Sorbet. A premade frozen lemon filled with lemon sorbet capped by the lemon top. We could see the server take it from a plastic bag out of the freezer. A unique looking dessert...i liked it frozen. It was refreshing. So I return to the seating. I don't like to sit near the front door. I'm a bit superstitious and like to sit somewhere where I can watch the front door and see who walks in. This time, I got a healthy dose of side eye with my Chinese food!

Well, when in Rome? Try some Chinese, lol. We thought we'd venture out for something different…read more Found a Chinese place within walking distance from the Rome Cavalieri (Waldorf). Won't say its the best Chinese I've ever had, but it certainly was very interesting. The staff was very attentive, and owners are from near Shanghai. We got the chicken gyozas, vegetable gyozas, mixed tempura, California roll, ramen, orange chicken, chicken curry, and grilled sea bass. All tasty but don't expect traditional Chinese flavors.

So when you travel thousands of miles to Rome to explore their food, culture, etc... where do you…read morego? A chinese food place obviously!! Haha. We stumbled upon this place looking for italian food within a block radius and it was late, didn't have internet on my phone and the italian place next door was reservation only. You come here and you can tell the local Italians love their Asian cusine. We had no wait but it was crowded on a Saturday night. I ordered the pineapple and pine nut fried rice as well as the orange chicken. Thought it was an interesting combo... And it was! The fried rice had a little too much olive oil on it but it was delicious!! The orange chicken dish had slices of yummy blood oranges on it and the batter reminded me of the sweet funnel cake batter you eat in the states. Unlike Chinese food back home, this didn't make me feel bloated at all. Overall it was a great option if you're visiting Italy and for some reason crave Chinese. The dishes were good, prices were cheap and they cook in olive oil! Who woulda thought Chinese food would be amazing with olive oil?!? They also have sushi, but I figured I could get that back in the states too.
