Go elsewhere!! Your child will not advance in dance if you keep them here. Wasted a lot of time and $$.

My issue, however, is with the abhorrent waiting area & lobby. With as many families and children who enter and exit the building, there is zero excuse not to have built a larger more accommodating front lobby. Kids and teens kick off their shoes and leave them EVERYWHERE while the lack of seating forces some parents to wait in the car (keep in mind, there is only curbside parking unless you leave your vehicle across the road in a CVS lot). I wish they could knock out a wall, reduce the size of the main studio or figure something out. Again, not much thought was put in to this aspect of the facility. While I stress that the actual instruction is outstanding, there is very little organization when it comes to ushering students aged 3-6 in & out of their lesson. This age requires guidance and direction, but in between classes is a free-for-all. Instructors should retrieve, line up and lead their students into whichever area they're heading to. Given the aforementioned situation with the waiting area, it'd be a huge help in reducing some of that front lobby chaos. Ms. Pat is incredibly knowledgeable, kind hearted and direct with both her staff and the families who attend. It's a great studio, especially for first timer little ones and I recommend DDA to anyone seeking options for dance. Just be aware of the surrounding factors listed above and you won't be as surprised/frustrated as I've seen some parents be.

I could write a book about this place. But to sum up:…read more They are very unprofessional - their classes do not start, or end, on time. Not a single parent will complain or even ask about this. There is a very obvious fear among them that if they were to say anything perceived of as negative, the teachers will take it out on their child. They play favorites with the dancers (on this they will merely claim that I am disgruntled or that my child was not at the top - neither of which is true) Parents become unpaid labor as they are pressured to "volunteer" (if a company that's been around as long as Taylor Dance has and can't afford to hire employees, something is very wrong at the top. They very plainly do *not* have the safety of the children in mind and are clearly out for making money only. At the height of the pandemic they did not mandate masks until pressured by the city to do so. At least two of them contracted covid during one wave and were mysteriously missing. One for a week, the other for even longer. Every single parent knew they had covid, but to keep the money flowing Taylor Dance kept it hidden. Special note: When they get a bad review online, they send out emails to the parents asking them to rush and post good reviews to counter-act it. These good reviews are not real. They are from parents trying to please the owners to secure a better standing for their child. I could go on, and maybe I will when I have more time. Final note: There are far more professional and far more caring schools to choose from

It can be hard to keep the attention of young toddlers but the instructor handles it with ease. It is hard to find toddler dance classes so I was thankful when I found one where not only are they good at what they do but it's also fun. A bonus is that they allow the two year olds to participate in the Spring recital which is absolutely adorable!

Having eleven years of experience at other schools, Trenton shocked me. Gone was the favoritism,…read morethe in-fighting and pitting the dancers against each other. Gone was the oh-so obvious out to just make money while pretending to care about the dancer's. At Trenton, they do not make girls dance late Friday and early Saturday morning. They do not dissuade dancers from homework or school events with subtle comments or rolling of eyes, suggesting that if they have any kind of life they are not truly committed. Unlike other schools, they are respectful of the dancer's time and the dancer's families time - meaning they do not run 15 or 20 minutes over on classes like other schools do. And one of the BIGGEST things? When they say they have their dancer's safety in mind, they mean it. Before joining, they were the only school we could find that followed the masking mandates that Michigan schools followed during the last surge. We were so excited to find a private dance studio that followed science/medicine. I could go on, but I'll leave you with this - we are not currently attending the studio. We had to leave for reasons that have nothing to do with the studio. I have no bias in this as we are no longer there (for now at least). Unlike other schools, Trenton Dance did not solicit this review and doesn't even know I left it. Thank you.

Though seemingly a good dance school, a bad taste was left after the Nutcracker experience. It…read moreseemed to be more of a money-making enterprise than something for the students. Not only are the parents paying their normal tuition, they had to pay part of the costs associated with the production (yes, there was effectively a fee for their child(ren) to be in the play), plus the parents were required to pay to attend the play. They didn't have to attend both performances, but come on, what parent would just drop off their little one and not stay? That seems like a lot of paying on the parts of the parents, don't you think? At $20.00 per person, they weren't exactly cheap tickets. Two stars were chosen because the definition for two was "Could've been better", which is precisely the point. The experience was damaged by what appears to be gratuitous fund-raising.
