The girls the accommodated me and my 8 yr old, and the girl stayed after closing for me. My nails w were awesome! One wierd thing I noticed was the first girl started my nails and then in the middle abruptly got up and switched to another girl- no warning or explanation. Strange but ok. The day before yesterday I went for the second time. I went as a walk in, and the girl seemed a bit off from the beginning. Why I'm giving three stars is because I'm happy with the nails, the attitude I got was not ok. She seemed bitchy and at one point she was pointing out that she had to change my mail as the last person did it crooked, she said. I know my mail is slightly cracked and I didn't notice anything the last time- then she held up my finger to show me. When I didn't understand and asked for clarity she got all pissy and said something in her language which in sure was very derogate, right there in front of me! I felt so uncomfortable and upset about it. A bit shocked, even. I let it go but it's still bothering me so I hope this communicates . I paid a lot and tipped too. I must say that my lady was detail Oriented and took her time to clean and paint my toe nails. Similarly manicure was done with care. The staff can speak good English even though they talk in their language. Clean washrooms and too many towels to be used after hands cleaning. Drinking water is available at request. After Nancy confirmed my appointment she harshly said, "and don't be late otherwise I won't be able to see you until 1:30 ". Her comment stunned me because I had not been late in many months. Over the years I thought Nancy did not like me because no matter how much I said hello, tried to make conversation and gave good tips she was very serious, hardly acknowledged me when I came in she never wished me a nice day or thanked me for a tip. She shows no basic customer service in politeness. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt because I did like how my nails were done, but yesterday I read through other reviews where others were treated rudely by Nancy. Other customers also said Smile Nail employees would call them if they are even 1 minute late for their appointment threatening to give their appointment away. I had the same experience. Then I would walk in the salon and no one would even be there, they weren't even that busy. Frankly, those phone calls made me feel a bit harassed but I let it slide and tried to remain a loyal customer. Other times if I asked for my mani pedi to be done separate, Nancy would get upset and say, " I'already told you before, you have to request that ahead of time, as if its my fault for not keeping track of all her rules. " It's rude and I don't need to be chastised like a child, especially in front of other customers. I pay too much money and give nice tips to be treated so harshly. They are losing workers and recently I have noticed they only have one other guy still working with them. Lin is friendly and gives good pedicures. She recently complained to me that no one wants to work for them. Perhaps if they created a kinder environment others would want to continue working there. I ended up calling back a couple hours later and just cancelling my appointment. I will no longer be going to Smile Nails or recommending them. I hope they stop and read these comments and work harder on their attitude.

But just now I noticed that another nail has a huge chip/rip in the polish. This manicure cost over $60.00 and hasn't lasted even a week - beyond the chips I now have hangnails which I've never had before. My hands look worse than they did before. I've included a photo of today's damage. Six days, $60.00 and this is what I have to show for it. UPDATE - a second photo as I woke up this morning with another chipped nail. Three chipped nails in under a week. UPDATE - a third photo as a fourth nail chipped today at work. Four chipped nails in a week.

I went in to the salon not thinking it would be a big deal to see if I could get it fixed before my trip and the lady who came to assist me was extremely rude and made me very uncomfortable for even asking to get it fixed. I never complained about the service and she made it seem like I was a huge inconvenience, was giving me dirty looks, talking to the other employees and even though I couldn't understand exactly what she was saying it was very obvious she was not talking very nice of me. This was very embarrassing and she even had the nerve to tell me to call next time after she started to fix my nail. The previous owners were wonderful and had great service and staff ALWAYS. Since the recent transition things have changed. I never leave bad reviews but I wanted to this time in hopes the new owners read this and can understand how rude this one particular employee was. Having staff like this will turn clients away very quickly. Even though this is a convenient salon for me, I am really considering never going back because of this awful treatment and how embarrassed this employee made me feel for such a small ask.

After hopping around the area, I finally stumbled across Four Seasons Nails & Spa who were able to take me in immediately on a Sunday afternoon. The chair at the pedicure station was comfortable and great for a quick massage. The woman who took care of me was super pleasant, but also respected the general peace that I was in much need of. After an hour, my feet looked as good as new and felt great despite having been relatively sore before. Two weeks later, and the polish still looks like the first day it was put on. Furthermore, the prices here are super reasonable - far cheaper than an equivalent pedicure back in Seattle. Don't forget to bring your own flip flops if you're getting a pedicure! They don't have any to supply, and you'll otherwise get stuck waiting for your nails to completely dry so you can put your socks/shoes back on. Also, contrary to some of the listings out there, they do in fact take card.
