We hired Jon "JJ" Jacinto to DJ and emcee our wedding, and we couldn't be more pleased with the results! First off, my husband and I are musicians, so the music choices and timing were extremely important to us. We had special music files we were emailing to him just days before the wedding (original songs written by us or friends), in addition to playlists. We were VERY pleased he did not miss not one single detail on the day of! He ran sound for the ceremony, cueing and fading each song exactly where we wanted it to occur. I am a firm believer that the music can make or break a wedding so I put together a very detailed list of music for the pre-ceremony, procession, cocktail hour, grand entrance and dance music. Bottom line up front JJ was one of the biggest reasons our guests said our wedding was so fun and awesome. We hired JJ to be our DJ at Wilshire Loft and the process was super smooth. I remember seeing JJ perform at my family friend's wedding the prior and I really loved his energy as the MC and his elite skills as a DJ. When I saw he was a preferred vendor for Wilshire Loft it was simply a no brainer. From my years of being a wedding guest I've found a DJ can either really help or really hurt a wedding. You don't want a DJ with low energy MC'ing the event or playing dull music that doesn't flow together or that has to keep interjecting to try to keep the crowd energized. JJ had so much happy energy on the mic which is important for keeping your guests attention and had the dance floor full from start to finish. Not once did he have to interject on the mic to try to get the crowd going on the dance floor nor did I see people come up to him for requests. He just sat back and felt the energy of the crowd and kept us going all night. Seriously at 1am there were people still going strong. Process was super smooth. JJ sets up a time to call you to get a feel for the couple then sends over a song planner that includes songs you want for the ceremony, genres you like, and must and don't play songs. I told him I grew up on 90s hip hop and R&B, my wife was 2000 pops, and the family was 70s era music and he flowed all of that seamlessly while throwing in others that mixed. I had so much on my plate for my wedding that I needed to find a DJ who could take the lead with the music selections, timing of the first dance, cake cutting, entrances, etc. JJ is the right person to get that done. For our wedding on April 30, 2016, we knew nothing about where to go for a DJ. The venue we were having our wedding, the Oviatt Penthouse, highly recommended JJ the DJ and so we reached out. Almost immediately, we heard back from the JJ the DJ team. They were extremely friendly and most of all professional, which reassured us greatly. There was a first set of messages and then a call with JJ to get an idea of availability, what services were available, and an estimate on price. JJ had our wedding dancing all night long! He was so good that my wife and I extended our reception even longer because we wanted to keep the party going. JJ and Trisha (Booking Manager) were so easy to work with. They were professional, cordial, and down to earth.
