I still dream of getting Birria from this place... All things Birria in this place are pretty awesome and you really cant go wrong. Went with the Birria Ramen special which had two Birria tacos and of course Birria with Ramen. I initially didn't understand the Birria ramen craze but it makes perfect sense to me now! There is enough Birria broth for dipping tacos in and for slurping noodles. Definitely check out when you are in Yakima

We will purposely make a trip to Yakima from the west side to have these tacos. No other reason to go to Yakima but to have lunch. We will even bring some back so that we have some for the next couple of days. The meat is always tender and the consome is always filled with flavor. We've never had an issue with service, everyone is always so nice and quick to get us our food. The Yakima location is quite modernly decorated which is different than the original Wapato location. Personally, we like the traditional look a bit better. We've been visiting JJ's since they were in Wapato and would make a point to make it out during covid to support their business because we love it so much. Highly recommend and so long as the quality of the food continues to be this good and staff is friendly, then we will continue to return!

Easily the best spot to grab birria tacos in Yakima outside of their original location in Wapato. Recommend ordering their queso tacos platter or birria pizza for a large group. Overall a great new spot that stands out among the hundred plus Mexican restaurants here. read more

Came by to get some Birrieriia taco for dinner with some friends. When we arrived, there was parking out front and once we got in there, we were shown to a table. It took a while for a server to bring us menus, although the restaurant was empty at the time since it was early dinner. After ordering, we waited about 30 minutes for food to come out and to our surprise, the portions were quite small. Overall, it was okay, flavor was nice but service was a bit slow and portions are smaller than expected for the price. read more

Customer service was terrible. They brought the check when my wife and son were still eating and no more than 2 minutes passed when they came to ask how we were going to pay. Basically kicking us out of the door. Food was okay, overpriced if you ask me for the okay quality. read more

Not as advertised save your money go to a taco truck. Placed an order to go when I asked for more salsa lady was kinda rude about it. Thought whatever food usually makes up for attitude not the case today! Ordered a regular burrito asada and got a rice and bean burrito with a hint of meat. The wife got the birria tacos, not very crispy and once again a hint of meat in a TACO. Don't fall for the hype salsa was good +1 6/10. read more

Went there for lunch the dirty birra street tacos were on special sooo delicious! Great chips, we did find the oddly watery salsa a bit disconcerting, plus it was served very cold and just didn't load on the chips. The green and red sauces for the tacos was very good with surprising heat, but also cold in temperature a way that just took some of the fun out of dribbling it on everything. We would go back for the tacos but I hope they improve their table salsa. read more

Well to make a longstory short, they took forever to bring our food. Didn't receive our drinks and only got 1 out of the 3 consomés we ordered and paid for. We stopped by on our way back home from a road trip. It's okay, not the best, but not the worst I've had. The rice and beans were flavorful. We love the food. We've tried the dirty 5 tacos, asada fries, and the quesabirria. The first couple times we went in when they first opened the service was slow but it's definitely improved. Everyone is pleasant and the facility is clean. No complaints. read more

This place is amazing. Went there on our way back to Tri Cities from Seattle. Saw it was 5 star on maps and went. So glad we did. Food was amazing. Prices were good. They brought out refreshing cups of water, chips and 6 types of salsa, while we reviewed the menu. The "chips" are actually whole corn tortillas fried! So you use them whole or break them into chips yourself. My guess on the salsas are: salsa verde (tomatillo), avocado, pico de gallo, a smoky ancho, a citrusy habanero, and something else. They all had distinct flavors and a little light spice, but we wanted spicier. They brought out the "no way Jose" sauce and warned us it's their spiciest and it sneaks up on ya! We tried it and found it was not burning but quite nice. We drizzled this sauce all over our food. It was the most flavorful of the bunch. The menu is quite extensive, with everything from sopas to sopes, tortas to tacos, cocktails to desserts. We each got a plate of food, meaning the main entree comes with Mexican red rice and refried beans. I got the sopita (aka sope) with barbacoa and a fish taco and husband got a dipped torta (I forget the name) filled with adobada. The amount of food and meat was quite generous, the toppings (veggies) too. I really enjoyed my sope - it had the perfect crispy crust and I could taste the slightly sweet creamy taste of the masa. The barbacoa was not as flavorful as I thought it would be. It was more like stewed beef meat. It was fine but I was expecting really deep flavor. The fish taco seemed freshly grilled and was moist, but there was a bit of a "fishy" smell and flavor that kind of took over. Thankfully, the generous veggie toppings and fresh handmade corn tortilla and salsas helped mask the flavor. Have to hand it to them that those tortillas are really good! The Mexican rice was perfect. I haven't had that flavor and texture in Mexican rice in a while and thought that was well done. The refried beans were good but also had a flavor I couldn't place my finger on... My husband said everything was really good on his plate. His torta was massive! Really flavorful and stacked with things. The adobada was very tasty. I wish I ordered that meat instead of the barbacoa and fish. Overall pretty good Mexican food, generous portions, really sweet service. The interior is also really clean and nicely decorated. They have a small parking lot out back.

The restaurant is medium sized with adequate parking out front, and if things get busy, there's plenty of overflow in the adjacent Fred Meyer lot. The restaurant is in the middle of the strip mall just north of Fred Meyer. My spouse ordered the Avocado Tostada, which was generously sized and clearly delicious--he ate more than usual. It came with rice and refried beans, both well prepared. I used to order the Cheese/Onion Enchilada plate, which includes two enchiladas plus rice and beans, and I'd always end up taking half home (never quite the same reheated). Since my appetite is smaller, I now ask for just one cheese/onion enchilada on its own. The staff never blinks at the request, and my husband happily shares a bit of his refried beans with me. My meal was perfection. Definitely worth checking out. It's not the most extraordinary Mexican food in the area, but it's always very good--better than we can make at home--and that's why we keep coming back.

I wasn't expecting to see them and happily joined them for breakfast. I ordered a Country Omelette because of the white gravy that is layered on top of the eggs. I really wished I had taken a photo, but I was distracted by talking with my friends. While we were there our server apologized for delaying our order because someone else had ordered the challenge breakfast!! Personally, I think it was an effort to save money as the order came from a group of 4 adults and 1 child. I was not able to verify if my theory was right though because that group was in a different part of the restaurant. My friends and I enjoyed a pleasant breakfast with tasty food. My country omelette was cooked perfectly and I loved the gravy on top of the eggs.
