    Tortillas

When we came in, it was quiet with just a few tables of couples. Within ten minutes, a bus load of teenage girls and their chaperones came in. I don't fault the restaurant for their behavior, but they really ruined our date. They were so loud we couldn't talk to each other. One girl went on for nearly ten minutes describing her diarrhea. If you're reading this review, and you bring young people to restaurants, step up to train them about how to behave in a restaurant. Tell them to talk more quietly, to consider other customers, and to talk about things that are appropriate at the table. The lady who helped us seemed very warm and welcoming. I liked her. Made us feel like family. I loved that the tortillas were brought out in such homey tea towels. The asada was fine. The beans were very watery. The rice didn't have a lot of flavor. The salad was just bagged salad. I had a agua fresca that was good. Salsa was brought out early, but there were no chips, so we had nothing to try it on. I felt like I wanted to like this place more, and that was disappointing. Chips should come out with the salsa. They should use fresher greens.

There are a lot of Mexican restaurants in Yakima. For me Tammy's offers authentic casual dining. The waitstaff are always friendly and helpful. The food always fresh and delicious. Most are a little hotter than I am use to but all are flavorful. This visit I had the quesadilla and it wasn't hot at all and oh so tasty. My partner ordered a vegetarian burrito, the green sauce carried some heat but still scrumptious. I always like this place

This pic was why I wrote the edit #2 look at the beans and rice!?

Awesome food! The best in town if you ask me... Just today I sat and waited for like half an hour for my order witch was CALLED IN half hour prior to this! Granted they where busy but I was asked by 3 different waitresses the name on my order time and time again and as well as the gentleman that seems like the manager... Other then that 5 stars and I will still be back hopefully their service gets a little more convenient. *edit* I'm still sitting here waiting. I was charged of course witch insures their benefit. *edit #2* I get home and open the orders and there is literally bean juice instead of beans and a small scoop of rice I have changed my stars from 5 to 2... I really don't know if I'll be back after going threw this.... *edit #3!* DON'T BOTHER TO CALL AND VOICE YOUR EXPERIENCE! All they said was to come back for more beans! No profesionalism what so ever for customer appreciation. They lost me!

The best Menudo in Yakima hands down.

Everything about the food here screams hot and fresh. There is so much flavor in every bite. I have not had a meal I didn't like. Whenever I am craving Mexican food this is my go-to. Sunday's are good days to grab some menudo and you have a side of fresh tortillas with all the fixings. They don't skimp on the meat! But they do serve it everyday if you want to skip out on the Sunday crowds. Sunday's and lunch time is when it's the busiest, sometimes it's a bit of a wait depending on the crowd but it's so worth it. It's small, cozy, family owned, very friendly vibe. If you are homesick and crave your mommas food this is definitely the place to go. All the tortillas are hand made and huge! Their salsas are also so delicious.

Cozy, not too crowded, had a homey feel like you're at someone's kitchen. The food was average despite the generous portion, had the tostadas and huaraches which were kinda similar in taste somehow. I'm not really familiar with Mexican cuisine but this is probably the greasiest I've had so far.

My friend recommend it this place , after a night of party we wanted some good menudo for the hangover. We got there really excited, we went on a Sunday so it was super busy but we patently waited finally they took our order friendly waitress about 20 minutes later we got our food and I was really disappointed food was not to my expectations, I mean it was eatable but not satisfactory I had to go to macdonalds after. I probably just went on the wrong day the bolt way to find out is to go try it out your self.

Delicious food. This is where we go for authentic menudo. Older reviews were before new management so take them with a grain of salt.

Our group ordered some tacos/sopes for a snack. The homemade corn tortillas are DELICIOUS. We recommend adobada - really flavorful.

Great vegetarian options in Yakima!…read more Quality: most vegetarian and Mexican places only give you rice beans and tomatoes as an option. These guys have well seasoned, actual vegetables and plentiful options that don't just seem like a taco with meat missing, butt seem like a complete food option. I got the potato tacos and the veggie burrito and both were very well done. So potatoes needed a little salt, but nothing that I couldn't fix at the table. Quantity: i'm a big guy and I eat a lot. But even I could only finish one taco and half a burrito. massive quantity! Price: $13 for a burrito that can feed 2! Ambiance: standard Mexican decor. It was clean and outdoor dining was available.

They brought out refreshing cups of water, chips and 6 types of salsa, while we reviewed the menu. The "chips" are actually whole corn tortillas fried! So you use them whole or break them into chips yourself. My guess on the salsas are: salsa verde (tomatillo), avocado, pico de gallo, a smoky ancho, a citrusy habanero, and something else. They all had distinct flavors and a little light spice, but we wanted spicier. They brought out the "no way Jose" sauce and warned us it's their spiciest and it sneaks up on ya! We tried it and found it was not burning but quite nice. We drizzled this sauce all over our food. It was the most flavorful of the bunch. The menu is quite extensive, with everything from sopas to sopes, tortas to tacos, cocktails to desserts. We each got a plate of food, meaning the main entree comes with Mexican red rice and refried beans. I got the sopita (aka sope) with barbacoa and a fish taco and husband got a dipped torta (I forget the name) filled with adobada. The amount of food and meat was quite generous, the toppings (veggies) too. I really enjoyed my sope - it had the perfect crispy crust and I could taste the slightly sweet creamy taste of the masa. The barbacoa was not as flavorful as I thought it would be. It was more like stewed beef meat. It was fine but I was expecting really deep flavor. The fish taco seemed freshly grilled and was moist, but there was a bit of a "fishy" smell and flavor that kind of took over. Thankfully, the generous veggie toppings and fresh handmade corn tortilla and salsas helped mask the flavor. Have to hand it to them that those tortillas are really good! The Mexican rice was perfect. I haven't had that flavor and texture in Mexican rice in a while and thought that was well done. The refried beans were good but also had a flavor I couldn't place my finger on... My husband said everything was really good on his plate. His torta was massive! Really flavorful and stacked with things. The adobada was very tasty. I wish I ordered that meat instead of the barbacoa and fish. Overall pretty good Mexican food, generous portions, really sweet service. The interior is also really clean and nicely decorated. They have a small parking lot out back.

The staff is friendly and efficient, which makes it an ideal spot for a relaxed lunch. The restaurant is medium sized with adequate parking out front, and if things get busy, there's plenty of overflow in the adjacent Fred Meyer lot. The restaurant is in the middle of the strip mall just north of Fred Meyer. My spouse ordered the Avocado Tostada, which was generously sized and clearly delicious--he ate more than usual. It came with rice and refried beans, both well prepared. I used to order the Cheese/Onion Enchilada plate, which includes two enchiladas plus rice and beans, and I'd always end up taking half home (never quite the same reheated). Since my appetite is smaller, I now ask for just one cheese/onion enchilada on its own. The staff never blinks at the request, and my husband happily shares a bit of his refried beans with me. My meal was perfection. Definitely worth checking out. It's not the most extraordinary Mexican food in the area, but it's always very good--better than we can make at home--and that's why we keep coming back.

This local Mexican restaurant serves undeniably delicious and authentic food, but a strict,…read moreunaccommodating policy toward modifications and substitutions makes it a frustrating choice for selective eaters or those with dietary restrictions. As a pescatarian, making simple substitutions, (with an additional charge) like putting the same grilled fish from your offered tacos onto other selections in place of the many other meat options, can make the difference between settling for what's available and getting to have exactly what you want. I would not return to a restaurant where I have to settle. It would be a good idea to consider changing that policy.
