I'm in Yakima for a convention and decided to eat breakfast at Wafffle's Cafe. When I walked through the doors I saw a couple friends seated at the table. I wasn't expecting to see them and happily joined them for breakfast. I ordered a Country Omelette because of the white gravy that is layered on top of the eggs. I really wished I had taken a photo, but I was distracted by talking with my friends. While we were there our server apologized for delaying our order because someone else had ordered the challenge breakfast!! Personally, I think it was an effort to save money as the order came from a group of 4 adults and 1 child. I was not able to verify if my theory was right though because that group was in a different part of the restaurant. My friends and I enjoyed a pleasant breakfast with tasty food. My country omelette was cooked perfectly and I loved the gravy on top of the eggs. read more

Good breakfast option in the area. Very quick service. The menu is pretty substantial. I ordered a veggie omelette. I liked that you had many options as a side. Potatoes, waffle, crepe, etc. I chose a waffle and at the last minute changed to crepe. Our fuss came out super fast. The omelette had a good amount of veggies. The crepes were pretty good. I had a bite of pancake - it was thick and fluffy - yum!! Hubs CFS skillet was loaded with potatoes. They were little fried potatoes with seasoning, very tasty. He liked it, didn't love. Came right in at 1:00. The sign on the door said they were open till 1:30. There were a few customers eating. A server came up to us and told us the kitchen was closed. I pointed out the time and he said they changed the time they closed. We left. I wasn't going to argue. They might want to remind their sign they changed their times! read more

We were at yakima fresh hop beer festival and stay near by this restaurant. Before head to the house need to something to eat. We got a table right away even other people are waiting outside( I guess only 2 of us not family of 4-5) we ordered breakfast pizza waffles and iron man breakfast. Both were delicious very fluffy waffles and all other meat and eggs are great! ( my favorite is ham steak) lot of food so we got box! Very cute cozy place and good service and quick! The food is delicious at Waffles Cafe. Their coffee isn't that great. The generous portion sizes, and outstanding customer service more than makes up for their mediocre coffee. The wait staff seems to work together well and everyone is always smiling and happy. Our favorite waiter is Grayson. We looked up a good place to eat breakfast. The information, timeframe it was open (6am) and yummy pictures drew us in. We mapped ourself from our hotel on the other side of town; having to get on the freeway. It was right off the freeway in what seemed like a decent portion of town. We were greeted by a very nice lady who gave us menus and told us to sit where we would like. We were greeted by our very ambitious waiter almost immediately and given coffee. He turned out to have a great personality and sense of humor! We ordered and received our food within 5 minutes. The portions were great! The food was very good! The menu was full of options! The prices were right and all of the employees were very nice and on the ball. The other great thing I noticed is how busy they were, people kept walking in and you could tell they were regulars, many didn't even need a menu and were asked if they wanted the "usual"!! Our go-to for a hearty breakfast when visiting Yakima. The waffles are delicious, as expected. The servings are very generous so come hungry, or share. It can get crowded on weekend mornings, but service is generally efficient and always friendly. The servers really work hard (with a friendly smile). The fruit toppings are not great right now but I advised my husband it's not berry season. Waffles, omelets, hash browns, eggs Benedict are all delicious. Since the last time I was here things have changed for the bad! Stake was not very tasty gravy came from a packet and at 18$ that's not very satisfying. I have had the opportunity to try a few of their dishes, all with great flavor and portions for the price. The different dessert style of pancakes, waffles and crepes are super tasty. My most recent one of a butterfinger waffle with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream with a chocolate drizzle tasted so good! I love this place!!!! The waitstaff is always friendly and right there the minute you set down. You have water and drink in minutes. Food comes out fast and hot and oh so tasty!! He is a model of warm courteous efficiency. His service was perfect. I had corned beef hash with scrambled eggs and a waffle. The corned beef hash is the standard canned variety that I love, and it was cooked to Perfection. The top had a lovely crispy crust that is Exactly what I look for. The eggs were cooked perfectly as well, thin layers, folded over, not runny and not browned, again, Perfection. The Belgian waffle had Exactly the same consistency and taste that my homemade raised-yeast waffles have, crispy outside and tender inside, with a rich flavor one wishes would never end. The coffee was a bit weak but tasted great. I saved the last bite of waffle for last, to make the experience linger. I don't think I'll have breakfast anywhere else in Yakima. read more

My party had a very good experience eating breakfast at Waffles. I would probably rate the food and atmosphere 4 stars, but the service and the value make me give them 5. Interacted with a lot of staff, and they were all friendly, attentive and professional. The host was the best, as she quickly figured out the best place for our party of five people which included someone in a wheelchair ( a challenging situation that would make some hostesses irritated). The waffles, omelettes, crepes and french toast are all excellent. This isn't a fancy breakfast place; this is an honest, solid diner that I would frequently visit if I lived in Yakima. I happened upon Waffles, after shacking up for the night at Days Inn (next door) & sure am glad that I skipped the Days Inn "continental breakfast", having decided to try Waffles Caffe instead! The Corned Beef breakfast plate hit the spot, the staff was very attentive & my food arrived quickly & my cup of coffee was filled, regularly - what more could you ask for?! The food here is okay.. but they have what's called an iron man challenge. For under $30 you can participate in this challenge! There's no time limit but we were told that only 1/9 can complete it! If you win, you get a cute travel mug that gives you free coffee for life. (It's only from their pot of coffee but nonetheless endless bragging rights!) Right when we walked in the establishment we were greeted Michael was our server and he was just all around nice guy. Great customer service and checked on us multiple times. Our food came out in literally 5 minutes and it was bomb! We left The Hobo Inn in Elbe, WA at 8:30, thinking we'd find a breakfast place along the way. We made a few stops along the way, getting more side tracked as we spent time using the turnouts and lookout points, taking pictures of the Washington trees and falls. By the time we got around to stopping for breakfast, we ended up in Yakima in time for lunch. We got off the highway and found Waffles Caffe. The parking lot was full, which we felt was a good sign. Some of the bad yelp reviews are petty people who shouldn't be writing reviews. I found very little negative things to say about our experience. We were seated immediately, and our waitress was super friendly. I was debating between the pork chop or the ham and eggs, and she said the ham was much better. I took her advise, and got the ham, eggs, hashed browns and an English muffin. Stephen had his favorite: Country fried steak which came with biscuits and sausage gravy. The breakfast was delicious! The ham and eggs was an excellent choice, and we left completely satisfied. Breakfast, with 2 coffees, came to just over $24.00. Service was very good, always topping off our coffees. Stopped by the Waffle Caffe with our Grandkids on our trip last weekend. The place was packed, but our wait was less than 5 minutes and our server was immediately at our table to greet us and get the great meal started. My omelet was the perfect size and delicious also the sides were great. The kids loved the Strawberry Cheesecake waffles. The atmosphere was one of happiness in controlled chaos with all the friendly servers going from table to table keeping coffee cups filled and chatting with customers and serving meals.
