i requested brow threading and a shampoo+blowout. The vibe inside was nice, lots of customers going in and out, so it was clearly a popular place, some rooms were a little bit rundown, but that's whatever everyone that I interacted with was friendly and the service was kind. If your face isn't hairy, and your hair is extremely tame and requires little to no maintenance then this just might work for you. not me. Even though I requested only eyebrow threading, I realized that I wanted to do sideburn threading as well, and she accommodated me with no issue. However, it was only when I left the salon and already halfway home when I realized she completely missed some huge patches on my cheeks, so it looked very strange. Unfortunately, neither me or the lady doing my threading realized this, even after I looked in the mirror and examined it closely, maybe the lighting in there just isn't good because it seemed obvious after I left, but inside it was really hard to tell that something was wrong. As for the shampoo and blowout, it wasn't outright terrible but for the price I would've expected something better than what I could've done myself, and I did not receive that. The blowout technique was some of the strangest I had ever seen. The person doing my hair was being pretty rough with my hair, it wasn't overly painful but the way they were doing it was definitely not healthy for my hair. Additionally, I asked them to take care of the frizz at the top of my head, and instead of taking care of it, they said that they couldn't do anything about it. That response was extremely strange, considering I was the same ethnicity as the staff and I assumed that they would have some experience with people of my hair texture. I guess I was wrong. When I get threading done, I expect a thorough job and when I get a blowout, I expect beautiful frizz free hair, and my experience fell short of my expectations, unfortunately. i won't be back. read more

I went in for eyebrow threading and unfortunately had a pretty bad experience. I ended up with multiple areas of broken skin afterward. This was not just redness -- there were actual raw spots on my eyelids. I understand mild irritation can happen with threading, but skin being torn is not normal and was both painful and concerning. I had to treat it like an open wound for several days and couldn't use skincare or makeup around my eyes. I hope the salon takes more care with skin tension and technique in the future, especially since the eye area is so delicate. I won't be returning. read more

This was my first time visiting, and I only asked for my eyebrows to be cleaned up with a soft, rounded arch. Unfortunately, Shipra made them extremely thin, and I'm very unhappy with the results. I called afterward to let her know what happened, and she asked me to come back so she could make them "more round." I explained that doing so would only make my eyebrows even thinner, and there was just silence on her end. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this place based on my experience. read more

Having recently relocated to this area I needed to find a new waxer and I really wanted JJ's to be the place because it's 3 mins away from home. Shipra did my underarms. She was pleasant so it was not the customer service although she did try to sell other services on me the whole time. I'm not hairy at all, in fact, I'm thinning hair every where else so it just felt excessive. I was already disappointed when she did not disinfect the area before hand. I noticed also that she didn't hold my skin down when she was peeling and she was just too fast. I'm not sure if it's because she was helping another customer, but she had another person helping there so I don't understand hurrying my services. She cleaned it afterwards but I don't think she applied aloe which most of my waxers have and I've been to plenty. As a result of this visit, my underarms have been irritated for the past few days and with a visible redness. The place was nice and had cute barn doors for the rooms, although it wasn't closed when we were in there. read more

I came to JJ's threading salon for the first time last month. they are in the same plaza as Blaze pizza, mochiholic and 99 Ranch near Santa Rita Rd. It's easy to find with plenty of parking and not too much crowd on a Friday afternoon. The interiors are clean and well maintained. There was no wait and i was seated right away. The lady kindly greeted me and seated me. I asked for eyebrow threading and shaping. She cleaned my brows and shaped it lightly as I had asked. It was done very quickly in less than 10min. I asked to have my upper lips threaded as well. Both services were super fast. They used an alcohol cleaner after the threading and put some lotion in it. Next time i probably will bring my own lotion. Eyebrows are just $12 and lips are $6. Overall I was impressed by the service and will definitely be a regular here in the future! read more

I had heard good things, but unfortunately this salon was a big miss for me. I came in before the afternoon rush and asked for a simple clean-up while keeping my brows on the thicker side, as my eyebrow hairs are naturally thick and coarse. As more people began lining up, my threader clearly rushed the service and ended up thinning my brows too much and leaving them uneven. She also left eyebrow hair all over my eyes and didn't offer tissues, even though I was visibly struggling to see. This happened to me twice, and after the second experience, I wouldn't return. Considering the price, I suppose it's a case of getting what you pay for. read more

Have been coming to JJ's for a few months now for threading, this review is specifically about hair. I got a shampoo and blow dry today and I've never left a salon in tears (for the record I had one here before and had no complaints). Today's experience was different; The woman who did my services washed my hair with one hand, left my blow dry frizzy, and didn't seem to know how to style hair. When I asked to stop, they said it was because of my hair type. This was a painful, unprofessional experience and I left with my scalp in pain, and humiliated by the look. Shipra, the manager, did not charge me for the blow dry, just the shampoo but I regret the experience and will not be returning. read more

Shipra is friendly and professional and runs a tight ship. I had a work trip for which I needed a cut and color as well as eyebrows. I have thick, coarse long Indian hair. I was looking for a chic cut. Divya is amazing - she made it look simple but she gave me a great cut with bangs that frame my face and layers at the back. She blow dried it and it lasted for the 3 days that I was away on work. I got several compliments and needless to say I will definitely go back when it's time. Gentle request to most salons in general - prioritize heat protection before the customer asks for it. It goes a long way to take care of the little things so a customer knows you care for their hair health. Definitely recommend JJ's! read more
