Justin is a horrible excuse for a lawyer. You are not supposed to intimidate and insult your clients. Some words i would use to describe Justin are blowhard, arrogant, lazy, and liar. (I was recently messaged from him asking me to remove my review, so i decided to add a bit more to it.) First of all I highly recommend that if you need a family lawyer look into retaining Elizabeth Anderson, i mean unless you get off on spending an exorbitant amount of money for low quality service. In my experience he made huge promises, and seemed so confident it was easy to get swept away. I mistook him as a shark, i felt good about retaining him. However, shortly after he got his money it all went downhill. I would try and give him information on the case he would say he didn't care, it was very frustrating. This is your job to know the case, and get the information and at least pretend to care, and do a good job. He was so horrible there's just certain things he did I'm still so angry about that make me consider maybe he was kind of shady or just incompetent at his job 1) i was being forced to provide so much information to my ex my college courses, my grades, the college i was attending etc & so much more! This very much bothered me, it didn't feel necessary for my ex to have all that i wanted my own privacy for various reasons. he told me i had to provide everything they asked for or id be in contempt, he didn't even try and argue that they were asking for too much, meanwhile my ex wasn't providing all his financial documents that really pissed me off. 2) Justin also had a bad habit of harassing his clients, the final straw for me was when his office called me 15 times seconds apart while i was at work, no voicemail even. All they wanted was for me to come sign a sub out form which was hysterical as the case was over, the divorce was signed, and there was no new lawyer! Incredibly unprofessional call once leave a voicemail then leave them alone, and wait. i obviously never was going to use you again, that was not the way to go about it. Just a petulant child throwing a fit. I felt like i had to block that number, it blew my mind. The communication the entire time with this lawyer was horrendous, 3) i remember being in the office signing paperwork with one of his paralegals & being told court was coming up in a couple days, i went oh wow! Really?! I and was told yeah, but don't worry Justin will take care of it. You don't need to be there. I was relieved as court scared me. & i was never told any different, that i needed to show up to my recollection, and i had never had a lawyer before so i didn't question it. I then didn't show up to court, & my ex got what he wanted. 4) Justin told me after the fact he would have gotten it anyway, when prior to retaining him i told him my priorities, & goals with my case and he said it was a slam dunk. He said he could easily get me that & more He said whatever it took to get the retainer fee. But if he had told me yeah he would likely get that anyway, i would have kept it out of court and worked with my ex. I have been reaping the consequences of retaining Justin as a lawyer for years, i would recommend you retain Elizabeth Anderson or really anyone else, you probably could honestly do better on your own I did. At the end the divorce was finally finalized due to my negotiation skills, and he still maintained he could have gotten me more but he didn't. I mistook his arrogance, as being a shark & i was tricked into believing because he's expensive he would be good. But that just was not my experience sadly. mean doesn't mean a good lawyer, and expensive doesn't either. He thinks so highly of himself. However i am not his only client who feels screwed over by him & lied to, i am not his only client who feels absolutely duped. I feel the state should maybe look into him. If you don't want bad reviews here's a novel idea... be a better lawyer! There is never a reason to call someone over and over seconds apart, nor should you ever lie to your client if you cant handle a case be honest. Im still disgusted by you i will never understand how you can treat people the way you do with no remorse. I'm going to follow up 2 years later. I continue to consult with Justin in my ongoing 4 year legal battle with restraining my husbands violent and bitter ex who once was fairly good at lying. I have received nothing but excellent direction and instruction from Justin. This man doesn't need to look up law in a book because it's in his head. I don't like to waste money. And THAT is something Justin doesn't do. I am not the overly emotional type so I'm sure that's helpful to him but my career means everything and Justin guided me with how to protect that. He is also the expert in breaking down the legal jargon that I get hung up on sometimes and that is why he's the best. If you feel overwhelmed and want to take the burden off of you, then hire him! Mr. Tabayoyon became my child custody attorney in the beginning of 2018. I am indebted to him for exceeding my expectations. I went from having my child 3 weekends per month to 100% full custody! He also helped me get child support for the first time ever--the maximum amount. He requested Father share health care and day care costs, too, which the judge granted. Highly recommended! Justin represented me for a move away order, which is known to be of the most difficult in family law and I can't begin to explain how pleased I am with his services. Before Justin I had retained a different attorney. After that disaster I then interviewed many more attorneys; so I would say I have a pretty good idea of who is out there. Unlike many of the other attorneys I dealt with who were rude, entitled and too confident, I felt Justin took me and my case seriously. I didn't feel like he just trying to make money; he took his time and listened to me and what I was needing from him. After my last consultation on 3/9/2020 with Justin This is what I'll state When a mom has done what is asked of her by her retained attorney & has been honest & civil since the start of this process & her only concerns are that her autistic child's best interests are heard & fought for she hears at this time she doesn't have a case & in Justin's words " Hopefully he starts drinking, then we can proceed forward." I shouldn't have to subject my child to such to proceed forward with a modification to visitation. An attorney that you retain should communicate with his client & not only reach out to their client when opposing counsel calls them to complain when his client isn't getting what he wants. I paid a few times In cash & before you asked to re-retain you for the October 7, 2019 hearing, I asked Melissa why the amount was still at 3,500 she looked into it & adjusted the retainer to 2,800. Your time is important, I get that but after paying $13,000 & having a mathematical error such as that makes you question the competency of Justin's co-workers. He ended the consultation by saying call me, despite telling me at this time that my case isn't solid he would still want to make $3,500. So in the end I thank him for showing me he only wants my money. I went to a certified family law specialist right after this meeting and I'll inform you Justin, She stated I have grounds to modify the visitation order due to the actions of the other parent. Mr Tabayoyon was never present in court, did everything by video . Never took the time to meet in person nor did he defend against the multiple false accusations made by opposing party. My personal opinion was that he wanted to just collect his fees without investing any time or understanding of the case. I do not recommend him for complex legal matters. read more

This review is based on Mr. Justin Tabayoyon's performance as my attorney for a divorce case. I'm an active duty Air Force member and dealt with a spiteful cheating spouse. I hired Mr. Tabayoyon to assist me in resolving my divorce case since my assets and military pension are at stake. I had three court appearances with Mr Tabayoyon representing me. The first court appearance, he was able to get my spouse out of my home. The Air Force kicked me out of my own home and ordered me to support my cheating spouse. I also got my 50/50 joint physical and legal custody. The second court appearance, by law I'm obligated to pay child support. But what he did is got the interest waived. Finally my third court appearance was a big WIN! I got more than I originally sought for on my settlement regarding property, debts and child support. My military retirement pension and benefits are now secured, I'm awarded my property that I've worked for and my TSP retirement is retained. Like I said it's a big WIN. I highly recommend Mr. Tabayoyon when it comes down to family law. His tactics are simple and relaxed. I understand divorce is stressful but if he's not stressing you shouldn't have to worry. Mr. Tabayoyon is direct and straight forward. He will not give you the run around. Also he will give you the opportunity to do your own calculations to save you money. I waited 2 months before I wrote this review. I've never given another business a negative review and I wanted to make sure the experience stuck with me. This man only cares about one thing, YOUR MONEY! He promised to take my case, held onto it for 2 weeks, then notified me 5 days before court that he didn't have time. I had to go to court representing myself! No joke! It did not go very well, I simply had no time to get another attorney with their sudden cancellation. He probably got another case that paid more, I don't know what his reasons were, I say this because his office called me over and over wanting $200 in cash for the initial consultation, then asked me 2 more times when I got to the office. They asked me for money 8 separate times before I even met the guy. I got the immediate feeling all he wanted was money. The fact that he wanted cash up front made me very suspicious, held my retainer check for $1500, then gave it back to me 5 days before court! No kidding! I have been receiving legal counsel from Mr. Justin Tabayoyon and his team for the past year and a half. I'm a upstanding and proud father of my young son. At the time that I found Justin I was in the middle of dealing with a very, very messy divorce, custody battle with my sons mother. Justin has stood by my side through it all and the best possible scenario came out of this terrible situation by means of Justin's guidance and counsel. My only regret is that I did not find him earlier in my divorce. I wasted my time with money hungry, incompetent lawyers. What I look for in a layer: 1- Experience and knowledge. Justin and his team prove to be extremely knowledgeable in all areas of my situation. He easily forecasted what ultimately ended up happening with my case, and was able to point out and focus on the relevant issues at hand. The best way that I could put it is that every time I got off the phone with him or read one of his emails I felt a ton of bricks come off of my shoulders. 2- Availability and punctuality (returning phone calls/emails etc.) Justin is very punctual with physical court appearances or otherwise. He always responded to my emails and phone messages almost immediately. During the most crucial part of my case Justin would call on weekends or evenings, whenever it made sense to make it happen. I knew that I wasn't but I felt like his only client. 3- Cost (hourly and retainer fee) Although I would sell the shirt off my back to protect my sons best interest, money is always an issue especially for people like me who do not earn/have a lot. Justin's hourly rate and retainer fee is MUCH more reasonable than anything I could find. Justin has proved to be very responsible with his time and my retainer fee. He quickly finds what is relevant and focuses on that. 4- Demeanor (ability to clearly communicate information, appearance,) Justin and his team projects a clear, professional, and calm persona that is very reassuring in hectic times. He is the same in court or dealing with my ex wife. Cool, calm, collected and always looking sharp. Bottom line: I got my custody schedule that I proposed and all of the stipulations that I wanted, and probably most importantly Justin somehow was able to guide us in the direction to mend a coparenting relationship between my ex-wife and I for the ultimate benefit of my son. There is no other legal team that I would trust more then The Tabayoyon law firm with something so important to me as my sons best interest. He's a knowledgeable attorney, knows what's he's doing, and most importantly can name sections and laws off the top of his head. But he is definitely pro father, given he went through court for his child(ren). From what I heard. He will do whatever it takes to make sure the father has considerable time of visitation even if the father doesn't care to be one, and he's representing the mother who is pulling money out of random credit cards to pay him. I went through a little over a year of court. Paid $14k I believe in attorney fees, while my daughters father represented himself, didn't pay any fees. And almost beat me in court and it took so long to have him take visitation away after the proof I had of him smoking while having custody of our daughter. Violating court orders. And consistently being late or not showing up for visitations. Threatening me and dropping our daughter off with feces in her underwear. He represented me for child custody, move away order and a domestic violence restraining order. If you want something changed or have a different view about your case, you have to put your foot down and tell him exactly what you want. Because he will go against it if he doesn't agree. (Which might be in your best interest). He is not good at helping you with anything besides the time in court. (Which i can't complain about) After he did win my case, some pros and cons. But I do have full custody of my daughter at the end of the day. He completely disregards you. I needed court documents that was suppose to be sent to his office, can't find them or they never received them. You pay for his knowledge and to not have to speak in court. Everything else, filing, scanning, receiving original documents. Do on your own. Don't have anything sent to the office because you probably won't get it. Overall. He's a d*ck when it's needed. Knows how to speak well, knows most of the judges and other attorneys. From what I seen, he seems respected. He usually has 3 or so court appearances in one day, sometimes around the same times. HE IS BUSY. Don't bother him, like I stated. You will be charged for EVERYTHING. You're paying for his knowledge and you not having to speak in court. I would recommend him if you are a father fighting for custody, regardless of the situation.. If you are a mother, the father has to actually be a dead beat and not care about his child in order for him to win your case and you better have some proof or you will lose. Like it was in my case. I like Justin. His receptionist, Melissa is sweet. But I'm sure she can be "stern" when needed. José is amazing, he is the best when coming to help and advice. Since you can't really talk to Justin, except in court. Thanks for helping me with me case though. If I do go back to court, I learned a lot from this attorney. And will definitely represent myself because I wouldn't be able to afford the fees again. Oh to add, Jose writes your statement of declaration. They get your file completely together For court. I left a text message on the website. No response. Today I finally I just called the attorney's office directly. I requested to speak with Justin personally. That was not going to happen. I was "handled" my his paralegal. He was nice enough and "professional" enough. But, I felt disrespected and I was "shuffled off" the phone without ever having any attorney contact. I cannot recommend an attorney who cannot spare 5 minutes to speak with a potential new client. Divorce matter: I have to say that first of all I am pleased to see 5 stars. However, Justin treated me very bad. Once we met, he asked me what the name of the Judge was. Then he told me the Judge have 'no Family Law experience' and that he will first of all request a new Judge. Then he told me that being a 'fresh and young attorney' means he has the best and latest law requirements. I did not need any more reason other than to retain him. $3000. I cried as I could not believe once I deposited the money into his trust account, I could not get a hold of him. He had his assistant whom he told me is 'stuck in Mexico' take all my calls. Then he decided to not charge me for services he 'provided' I was ok, until I went to court and seen that after he send me an 'attorney substitute' to sign (I did not know, I signed it) I felt like an idiot in court while he watched. (YES HE WAS IN COURT) He continue to submit documentation to the opposing attorney afterwards and that was used in my spousal. I was shocked and felt betrayed. I had no choice. I don't think you understand the situation. At no point did I request nor did I expect you to modify your business practices. What I did expect was for you to be willing to discuss them with me so that I may understand them. All contracts are subject to negotiation, no matter what they are for. All I needed was a quick call with you to clarify items on the retainer agreement and go over the fees. Instead, I was completely shut down by your assistant Jose. I appreciate your need for efficiency; however, efficiency should never come at a cost to your clients. Based on my experience, I would say your current business practices appear to favor the efficiency (and maybe cost savings) of your firm, and not the service you provide to your clients. I am a reasonable person, if you would have taken a call with me we could have easily been on the same page about this. Again, my review is based on how your firm treated me, from a customer service perspective. This review has NOTHING to do with whether or not I agreed to your fee structure or that I "didn't get what I wanted". Also, if you want to set the expectations that you don't negotiate your contracts, then I hope this comment is a vehicle for your prospective clients to make it clear for them. They also need to know that YOU will not talk with them unless they are paying you. If you are swamped with clients and can't take the time to have follow-up conversations with new prospective clients, then I don't want to work with your type of company. Too many times I have felt that I am just a number to a company. Legal cases are sensitive situations that require a bit of bed side manner from lawyers. Your prospective clients need to know that your company lacks that bedside manner, and that you are okay with this, as long as the client's expectations are adjusted to reflect that. Again, this is my opinion of your firm based on my experience. Given that I feel this rating properly reflects my negative experience with how your firm treated me, I deem the 1 star rating justified. read more

Highly recommended! My ex accused me of a bunch of false things. She had me arrested, got a restraining order kicking me out of my own house, and and wouldn't let me see my kids. I thought my world was falling apart and I hired Justin. He immediately changed how things were going. Fast forward a few months, I'm divorced, my house is sold and my ex paid me for the time she had the house to herself, I have my kids half the time, and the criminal charges were outright dismissed. This dude is freaking awesome. Here are some pros and cons from my experience. I did some shopping around. Justin is not the cheapest attorney around, but he isn't the most expensive either. I talked to other attorneys that wanted $100 more per hour than Justin's hourly rate (I also talked to an attorney that was $100 an hour cheaper than Justin). Justin always returned by calls and messages. But Justin's office charged me for every message, phone call, email, etc. I mean every single communication! And my total bill wasn't cheap. That said, when I was wasting my own money by calling when it wasn't necessary, Justin's staff reminded me every single time that the phone call was costing me and that ultimately I was responsible for my bill being more than it should. As much as I didn't like being told that, and how high my bill got, I couldn't get upset because they constantly reminded me about the cost of phone calls and emails. I'm glad they told me that because this whole experience was so emotional for me I probably would have called them 5 times a day if they didn't put me in check by reminding me of the cost! Despite the high cost of communications, I still feel like I got more than my money's worth and I appreciate that they tried (sometimes in vain) to stop me from wasting my own money. In summary, Justin is a great attorney that provides top notch representation. He's my go-to attorney for life. He charges for everything, but he is worth what he charges. read more

I WON AN IMPOSSIBLE CHILD CUSTODY AND A RELOCATION CASE!!!! THANK YOU JUSTIN!!!! I was in the middle of a very nasty divorce fighting for custody of my 12 year old son and relocation to a different state. I hired Justin after firing my first attorney who promised me the world, charged me so much money and never did anything to help my case. I was told by everyone including my first attorney that child custody battles and relocation cases are incredibly difficult, and very long and expensive process. I had been at this with the first attorney for months already. Hopelessly scouring the internet for a good and reasonably priced relocation attorney I was lucky to found Justin on yelp. I called him on a Sunday night, he actually answered his phone. I spoke with him for almost an hour and he never as much talked about charging me for the time or said "you have to make an appointment first" I knew then that I was going to be taking care of. Justin took my case even though I couldn't afford to pay him much. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and most of all he was very caring. I felt like the heavy burden was lifted off of me after my meeting with Justin. He knew that the case was going to be very difficult given the fact that the father was bitter and he had hired a high profile and a shark for an attorney. He was willing to do and pay anything not to let me travel with our son out of spite not because he cared about our son. having said the fathers attorney was trying to delay the case manipulating the law and using it to his advantage for more delays. The point is that Justin is not only a great attorney with such high ethics but he also cares about his clients and does not treat them like $$$$$ signs.
