My personal experience and opinion. This guy will steal your money and actually help opposing party while his secretary makes sexual advances and borrows money to cover her daughters cheer outfits with him listening in the background. That's my personal experience. I hired him to stop my crazy ex from selling our marital property home. He demanded I sign a dissolution of marriage but left out the part that I still would have to go to court to fight her on the proceeds. After having me sign the dissolution he removed himself from the case allowing her to sell the home as a single woman (she had a baby with a Solano County sheriff during our divorce) and I had to request his secretary repay me a month after she borrowed $100 for her daughter a cheer outfits as she said she's pay me back in a week then ghosted me. He took thousands of dollars and allowed my ex to sell the home as a single woman. The guy is a thief. If you choose to hire him it's your own fault after reading this. Really wish I'd of been warned. Shouldn't have a license. read more

I had the pleasure of speaking with Monique inquiring about Successorship for my dad after his conservator passed away. Monica understood exactly what I needed but their office did not do this very multiplexed and unusual type case. She then went on to say she would check Attorneys in the area that she knew of and give me a call back. Within 10 minutes she called me with the Attorneys information and said they'll be expecting your call. She went above and beyond her duties for someone that wasn't their client. Unfortunately this representation of an attorney office is a joke. The communication from them is piss poor where you only talk to the receptionist. I never got to talk to Mr Scalise, the relationship I had was mainly with his secretary. Got to court and he just stood on the sideline and only said 2 words. Had to reschedule the court appearance and found out I was charged almost 3 grand for his representation to find out the money being held was being charged for someone else's case. When I inquired about the fees, I was asked to sign a substitution of attorney. Tried calling back multiple times for clarification and communication to have my phone calls screened. read more

I called the law office and spoke with Monique, super friendly and helpful! She scheduled an appointment for me to meet with Joe. I met with him and he was able to answer all my questions. I did not need to retain him at this moment but if I do need to I wouldn't hesitate. He didn't rush me, didn't make me feel stupid for asking some of the questions I did and was empathetic to what I was sharing. All around A+ experience. Scalise Law office is great! If you are looking to bring an end to a legal process and have no interest in playing games, they are a great fit. Both Joe and his Legal Secretary Rami, are very experienced, professional, and have a no-nonsense approach to the law. They have over 20 years of experience in family law in Solano county. Court proceedings are never enjoyable and having them represent you takes away the stress of filing your own paperwork, wondering if it is correct, meeting deadlines, and dealing with the opposing party. We had an especially difficult opposing party, and Joe and Rami were able to counter all of their baseless claims and bring the case to a settlement. People seem to enjoy complaining in their reviews if they do not get their way, or 100% of what they wanted, but the differentiation should be made between an attorney doing their job and the court doing theirs. Just because the court does not grant you what you wanted, does not mean your attorney is a bad attorney or didn't fulfill their obligations. Joe fulfilled all his obligations and even went above and beyond to represent us before he was officially retained and after the final payment was made. Retaining Joe's services was able to make the court process less stressful and more efficient. I see a few people bad-mouthing Rami on here, but we received nothing but excellent customer service, respect, and professionalism from her. She provided the reassurance that we needed whenever we had doubts, and the way she communicated to us, as well as on our behalf to the opposing party, always made us feel well represented and reinforced the fact that we made the correct decision to have Scalise law office represent our case. read more

I first hired Shannon elms for a pending guardianship battle not being able to see my son. She'd a losing attitude... Fired her and got a recommendation to Joe scalise. This guy can come off as a jerk at times but this is what makes him a winner and he's not really a jerk at all. More like a doctor with no bedside manner. All the belly achers I see in here giving him one star need to grow some thicker skin. If you can't handle a doctor with no bedside manner then go get the horrible doctor that let's ya die on the operating table. Joe shot from the hip. We fought through two trials, one for relief of parental rights along with adoption and another in guardianship court. We won both trials. Long story short I'll be getting visitation including overnights soon along with a plan for a FULL TRANSITION into my care through the family law mediator. In all fairness I can't rate this attorney as I wasn't able to get past his bulldog receptionist. I will say that the receptionist/intake assistant was extremely off putting and uninformed. While all attorney's definitely need a bit of info upon initial consult this particular attorney's office wants all your info and oposing side info upfront with or without even speaking to you regarding your needs. How do you know if you'll be able to help me if you don't even know what I need. How do I know you aren't in fact some shady business entitiy? A consultation/interview is a 2 party process designed to guage and/or ascertain comfort level, skill, and ability to handle the given task. Mr. Scalise please seek out a more skilled support team or at least one that is able to accurately cite why they are "legally bound" to request information when asked. read more

I was lucky enough to be referred to Mr. Scalise from a friend. I had already gone to court without a lawyer and my ex wife had one. Needless to say it didn't go well without a lawyer. I walked out of court the first time on my own with a fraction of time to get to spend with my children. One court visit with Me. Scalise and I left with 50/50 custody and a work order for my ex wife. He was so good against my ex wife's lawyer that she fired hers and started representing herself. I could literally go on for multiple pages about everything he has done for me over the past 3 years, but the important thing is he helped preserve my right to parent equally. I've referred three new clients to him and they've all been very happy with his performance in the courtroom and out. You couldn't find a better family law attorney out there if you tried! read more

Mr Scalise is very judgmental, his unnecessary comments about my difficult child custody situation were rude and made me feel uncomfortable. At court he was unprepared, not listening to the judge or opposing counsel but rather keeping busy playing with box of tissues or paper clip. I was misinformed when it came to signing agreement and what I signed was not what I agreed to. I do NOT recommend him. I had to change lawyer to someone that listens to their clients. Rami, his secretary, can be extremely rude and for some reason her emails went to my junk mail folder. I let her know to call me if it was due to paperwork she needed urgently but she did not and I had urgent e-mails waiting over a week in junk folder. read more

I appreciated his no-nonsense approach and unwillingness to burn paper just for the money however communication is poor as is follow-up and Rami, his office person, is rude and does not own up to her mistakes; she will, in fact, blame you and then complain to her boss. It is ridiculous that she has any input into Scalise's decisions given her lack of knowledge. Maybe she is just overworked but, even then, that is the responsibility of the boss. If you have a simple case (that you could do yourself but nervous about dealing with a judge or opposing counsel) then you might be ok with this firm. read more

Mr. Scalise was recommended to me by a co-worker after my original family law attorney retired. He did great picking up where we left off and the couple times we went to court/mediations went in my favor. I'd recommend him to anyone. read more

Are you looking for the best??!!!! Need look no further. I was referred to Mr. Scalise by another attorney in order for me to have my 1 free consultation regarding my divorce. I was a basket case (to say the least), sobbing out of control etc. I had no money and was confused and greatly depressed.............Mr. Scalise said that he would be willing to stand at my side during the first court hearing and would seek to have my husband court ordered to pay $4,000 towards my attorney fees! It was so ordered, and lucky for me Mr Scalise agreed to represent me. His legal secretary Remi was great! She was always supportive and continued to keep me informed and updated all the way through. To make this short yet sweet, Jan. 27th 2016, Mr. Scalaise succeeded in getting far more than I ever expected out of this divorce!!! For the first time in 2 years, I am able to exhale, all thanks to Mr. Scalise! Financially I can live and finally look forward to my new chapter in life .
