Do what they say they're going to do when they say they're going to do it (and communicate with me about it) 2. Be polite, friendly and professional and treat my property like it's your own 3. Do high quality work EJ's hits all three. I had a short deadline to get several rooms painted and Joe and Jen were quick to respond, super friendly, able to fit me into their schedule and kept me up to date on timing. The crew doing the work did a fantastic job and the work that they did looks far, far better than the last painters we hired. We had a two-story foyer with a front staircase, a two-story back staircase, upstairs landing, family room, kitchen, basement staircase and hallway painted. Part of what they do (which I initially didn't think would be much of a difference) was spending several hours just spackling and sanding. Our walls are so much smoother than they've been--almost all of the imperfections from when we built the house are gone (and our basements steps, which I think the builder just didn't care about, look like they're from someone else's house). I probably can't stress enough how important that part of the job is and I'll never have any painting done without that being part of it (and likely wouldn't hire any other painters besides EJ's at this point anyway). Paint came out gorgeous--great edge work, no drips, no imperfections and super smooth. So thank you, EJ's, for a fantastic job done on time and within budget. Initially, Mr. Laflame seemed flexible about traveling from New Jersey to Pennsylvania and assured us that he could meet our deadline. However, from the start, he was inconsistent and unreliable. After receiving the deposit and agreeing on a start date, he tried to reschedule at the last minute and later claimed illness, delaying work for nearly a week. When he did show up, he worked sporadically, often citing excuses like traffic, dead phones, car trouble, and eventually a family medical emergency. Despite several assurances, he made little progress and left key tasks undone, including unpainted trims, mismatched ceiling colors, and exposed outlets. Frustrated and disappointed, we ultimately decided to terminate Mr. Laflamme's services after he missed yet another scheduled workday without notice. Although we had paid most of the agreed amount and made efforts to accommodate him, Mr. Laflamme left our home in an incomplete and unsafe state. We expressed feeling especially let down, as we had treated him hospitably, including providing lunch and introducing him to our family. He took all the unused paint we paid for never provided us with the recipt(probaly to return and take the money) In the end, we had to host a family gathering in an unfinished home, which was both embarrassing and upsetting. Also, there were nail pops and cracks from settling that needed to be addressed. Rob did an amazing job with fixing everything and painting above and beyond. Michelle, our paint expert, stopped by (on a Saturday, I might add) for an evaluation. She guaranteed the work would get done quickly and efficiently, and immediately contacted her team at the office to fit us in with our preferred start date. Due to the Thanksgiving holiday approaching, we settled on December 3rd as the first day of work. Jose and his crew arrived on time. They were polite and transparent about the entire process. Jose asked to see the room so he could assess exactly what needed to be done. They were here for a solid 8 hours, and told us they'd return on Monday. We had some complications arise with our schedules, so I requested to have the work pushed back. Michelle and Jose were notified and were extremely accommodating. The crew came back today, Friday, for completion of the job and to add finishing touches. We are over the moon with the results!
