I hire Prestige Wood Flooring who told me that that everything they do is perfection - let's start off with I had an issue picking a color every color in the book/ Internet never looked the same on the floor I was told I had seven seconds to look at the color and stain that they sampled onto my floor bc after that it dries and thats no longer the color- extremely difficult to look at an 8 x 8 box and picture of how your whole house will look- Finally found the color that I had to make with the Worker by telling him to add this and add that . While they were shaving my post I watched a worker take chunks out of the wood. I stated it needed to be fixed. the worker used wood filler that wasn't stainable. it's their job to know that not mine. I allowed them to do the work -I come back to a broken storm door completely bent screws missing that I had to fix myself- there was a gash in my wall on my stairs that I had to fix myself as well - no thank you from the company. there was a blemish on my floor right by kitchen- there was a stain in my closet -there was a stain in my dining room and my post going up my stairs was silver in multiple spots. I addressed this with the owner David Habib and he basically said well there's nothing that they could do nor did he offer any type of compensation. He said they would color it or try to blend it. He Didn't want to pay for the post that they ruined - so my husband said we would split it and we didn't have to. I told him the post could not stay like that/ it needs to be changed/ the post was on back order for three months. I told him when he came if he was going to take the post out I don't wanna have to deal with any more problems- he could not guarantee that. I could've been a bitch and said I don't care if it creates more problems if it creates more problems then you resand the stairs and you fix it but instead because I'm a good person I said I'll just leave the post like that after paying $7000 and I'll touch it up as best as I can thinking that I was preventing him from going into a bigger problem which indirectly wasn't my problem. the spindles on my stairs were taken out and never glued back: sent him a message about that got no response . I decided to call his partner Sean and tell his partner that where I come from this is not how people do business if the job is not 100% then I should be offered compensation and I'm not paying 100% of the bill. This wasn't one issue it was multiple. He came to my home clearly wasn't too happy about taking a dollar off the bill- he just wants to have imperfections in a home and not give a shit. offered a credit to the company and I said a credit will not be suffice. If you hire this company you better make sure the work is perfect because he will pretty much tell you to go fuck yourself and not give a shit about fixing it. My husband told him he needs to take $600 off the bill due to stains that I have to look at and live with for the next 15 to 20 years I think that was pretty fair. Both myself & my husband had no problem with anything else but had a problem with them not taking accountability for the multiple stains and markings that were on my floor after the job was done. we thought All was good but since David Habib had to finally move like a real businessman with morals he's mad- four weeks ago a worker dragged a box across my floor. nothing major the floor just needs to be buffed I sent multiple emails multiple text messages/multiple voicemails myself & my husband for five weeks to try to get in touch with them- they both ignored us. They want to appoint blame at the customer for having a reaction to their work the picture speak for themselves. Got a new company that wanted the color bc its custom - so consistently stated we need information & ignored on every attempt - finally Dave answers 6 wks later and says due to circumstances find someoneELSE to fix the job. I all of a sudden don't want to live w stains and markings on my floor and post that can't be fixed - stay tuned David habib I'm just getting started ur a horrible businessman Ps don't listen to anything he has to say in his response - trying to save face - narcissist- is getting mad at others people's reaction to their shit behavior - what I stated is exactly the truth ! Phase two of our flooring experience with Prestige Wood Flooring was equally, if not more so, positive and successful than even the first. To Mr David Hadid and Sean...... My husband and I had our living room and foyer sanded, stained and oil polyurethanes in our 100 year old house. We moved out for three days into a local hotel and results honestly were beautiful. there was one small area not satisfactory at all. I spoke to Sean about how to rectify and his curt attitude was not appreciated at all. He suggested placing a vase to cover this area, totally absurd. Mr Hadid apparently couldn't be bothered to come see.He conveyed all workers did their best, which I believe, but was definitely not the best by Prestige. Would not let me speak to MR HADID. The lack of customer service was so disappointing I will never promote Prestige. They couldn't be bothered even trying to make this right or send someone to look at this. We now need to hire elsewhere to correct. Horrible customer service.No one needs to accept the treatment dished out here by the likes of you Mr HADID and your office personnel. I've called several companies but they were the first to respond. I was so impressed with the rep and the reasonable cost, I decided to go with them. Just had my stairs done. They were covered with carpet. Under the carpet was hardwood that was painted with a thick layer of speckled paint. I now have beautiful oak steps Thanks to Tyler Collins who worked very hard. He is a very personable young man who knows his craft. He is meticulous in every aspect of the process. He made sure everything was done to perfection. With a smile he answered all our questions and went above and beyond if we asked him to do something. He was careful and mindful of our home. Now we have some Fabulous Flooring!!! After being stood up by a previous contractor from Fabulous Floors, (no call and no show) I frantically looked around to have our empty family room refinished... and quick! Sean answered and was super helpful. He sent Paul out to do the estimate and understood our desperate need right away. They even had someone come here to do the job on Labor Day of all days! Imagine my pleasant surprise that someone was able to come by so quickly to give us an estimate and do the job. A very fair price too I might add. Oscar came over today to refinish our floors and they look absolutely amazing. They look brand new, which is saying a lot for hardwood floors that are 60 years old! We were even able to walk on them later on today. Oscar showed great attention to detail and even cared enough to call to ask if we wanted an old cable / telephone wire hole to be fixed inside the wood flooring. They even sanded and refinished the wood around out fireplace mantle so it matches. Through each part of the job, every member of the Prestige team showed great skill, knowledge, patience and a desire to right by us with the work we wanted done. There was no pushy up sales, but were informative on how to take care of our hardwood floors from this point moving forward. They will keep our choices on file for later use when we are ready to do the other 2 bedrooms or the rest of our house, which is now covered in carpet. I also have to say, when I call to estimates for work, it sways my option to go with someone who answers the phones and is helpful with my questions right away. I dislike leaving messages with the expectation that people with "get back to me later" if I am calling now, that means I have the time to talk about my work now and not later. Sean did all of that and then some. I am truly grateful and highly appreciative they were able to come out so soon to get our floors done. It might not seem like a big deal to some, but when you have a small house with kids, every room counts. Quite a job. Since the day we moved into our new construction home 15 years ago, we hated the floors. The builder used pre-finished planks that featured a large bevel between each board. You can only imagine how dirty these crevices get. The manufacturer's finish did not wear well. Plus we were tired of the 1990's look bleached oak finish. Prestige came in and worked with us in two phases. We moved furniture from the living and dining rooms to the garage and hallways. On Monday and Tuesday they completed that section to perfection. We moved back the furniture on Thursday evening and they came back Friday to sand the Kitchen and hallways. They finished on Saturday. They had to go down about 3/8" so it was a lot of work to get those bevels out. They did a masterful job. Oscar and Luis are true craftsmen who take such pride in their work. It was as if they were working on their own home. I was happy to bring in lunch each day because they worked so long and hard. I have never had a vendor work in my house for as many hours as these fellows did. Had to be over 32 hours easily! I was completely comfortable leaving my house for them to finish up and lock up while my wife and I went to hotel to celebrate our new floors. This is a big task that requires the owner to carefully plan each step. You need to find movers willing to work with you at a reasonable price. You can't move the furniture yourself. We had a 600 pound piano and the heaviest china cabinet ever. You have to pack everything up to lighten the load. It is good to have a second refrigerator because that must be emptied and moved out. I cannot say enough good things about my sense of value. I didn't get bids. I relied solely on on-line endorsements and it paid off. read more
