I was confused as to why her dentist wanted to refer me out to a pediatric dentist when he could just take care of my daughter at his office, but once I had my appointment and saw entirely different it is--i get it. The office is SUPER cute and decorated for children, the colors, toys, etc. is all perfectly focused on children, which my 2yr old absolutely loved. The dental assistant was an angel and the Dentist was absolutely perfect!

The waiting room was completely full, which should have been a sign of how disorganized things were. Once we were finally taken back, my child spent maybe 5 minutes with the hygienist. After that, we were left waiting in the room for another 45 minutes with no updates or communication from staff. When I finally asked what was going on, I was told the dentist still had another patient ahead of us. At that point, we decided to leave without even getting an exam. It's unacceptable to keep children waiting that long with no communication or consideration for families' time. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this office based on our experience. It goes without saying we will not be returning.

The final straw was this past December. My daughter was seen and diagnosed with two cavities, but we were told the soonest they could treat them was June. At the time she wasn't in pain, so I trusted their guidance. Fast forward to now--she was just fitted for Invisalign, and the pressure caused severe pain in the teeth with the cavities. She was crying and in extreme discomfort. I contacted the office explaining the situation and was told they still could not see her any sooner. There was no emergency accommodation, no concern, and no attempt to help. We were simply told to find another dentist. Allowing a child to go six months with multiple cavities and refusing to help when they are in obvious pain is unacceptable. This office showed zero compassion or urgency, and it's clear they do not prioritize their pediatric patients' well-being. I will be pulling my kids from this practice. I would not recommend this office to any parent who expects timely care and concern for their child.

They said since it was our 3rd no call no show they were declining us as patients. Which is untrue, I called and rescheduled twice previously in the past two months because the sickness has been running through our house. I never once "no called no showed." So beware, if you ever reschedule your appointment due to being sick they may decline you as a patient, even if you have doctors notes to prove your sickness. I guess just show up with your sick kids to avoid being told you can't come back.

Crickets until the day of service; and when I further inquired during check in whether my insurance covered the visits I was assured everything was fine, though still no particulars could be given yet. The atmosphere was clean and the demeanor of the staff, which is exclusively female, was mostly polite. I insisted on accompanying my daughter's back and felt a little resistance. Feeling a little uncertain on the their insurance assurance, we declined X-Rays and opted for exam and cleanings only, which only consisted of polishing & flossing... I'd estimate about 30 minutes total. Upon checkout imagine my surprise when the billing desk told me I owed $700... for 3 very quick "cleanings," and a go bag with toothbrush. Turns out they are Not in my network and I'd definitely not have used them at their service prices, had they been up front with me the weeks preceding the appointment. Overall, they were polite, the office was clean and the dentist herself seemed knowledgeable and capable... though if Im being honest- it felt kind of like more of a money making operation rather than a genuine focus on kids smiles.

I have 2 children that are patients with Lenahan Smiles. I do not make a lot of money, my ex husband makes a significant amount more than I. I agreed to make a payment arrangement of $30.00/month until my bill was paid in full. I even stated that if possible I would make larger payments, (rare) but I did offer. The person I made the payment arrangement with made a mistake and put down that I would pay $30.00 twice a month and because I was not able to do that, I was called 3 days prior to their cleaning appointment and was told that unless I could pay $90.00 within 3 days, the appointments would need to be cancelled. (In order to be fair, I will state that I did miss September's $30.00 payment due to lack of funds) This to me is an unfair business practice. Now, because I am low income, my children suffer. Not to mention, I did not approve the dental work to be completed, their Father did. I offered to make a $30.00 payment over the phone today AND also stated that I would I would make another $30.00 payment once I was paid on the 15th. I was still told no, that the children could not be seen. This frustrates me. I have so many questions. Why wasn't I called sooner? Why was the work done with out MY approval? Lenahan Smiles has lost 2 patients all over $30.00. I hope that no one else has to feel the frustration of a circumstance like mine.

My son who's very shy and attached to us (parents) wiggles down and went to go play with other kids which is shocking to us a bit. So that's the positive side! Ok, now here's my mistake. Our dental insurance covers almost everywhere but apparently this place was out of network. Ok my bad, I should have checked before I got there. But they way they treated us was so poorly. The assistant seemed like she didn't want to take care of us at all. She was waiting for the "OK" if our insurance covered or not before she took my son back. And the big guy at the receptionist desk was just bluntly rude and stuck up. He had that I'm better than you kind of attitude. Also, front desk people were dressed like bums. You would think you would have your staff dressed more appropriately and no it wasn't a causal Friday. Another thing is after the visit with the doctor, generally kids get to pick/or given a sticker or prize. Nope not my son, he didn't exist to them apparently. Anyways, the other positive thing is that Dr. Rice was fantastic! He was very friendly and attentive. It would be nice if his staff was trained the same way.

They've typically gone above and beyond, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I've had to reschedule my three kids' cleanings a couple of times due to illness, and this time I left work early and picked my kids up from school early to make our 2:00 PM appointment. My middle daughter was delayed returning from a field trip, so as soon as we got her, we headed straight to the office. I called right away to let them know we'd be about 10 minutes late, and was told there is a strict 10-minute policy. I said I would do my best to make it within that window. We arrived and walked in at exactly 2:10 PM, but were immediately told we'd have to reschedule. I explained the situation and asked if there was any flexibility--even just to have two of my kids seen--but was told no. I understand having policies in place, but it was frustrating that there was zero flexibility, especially when we made every effort to get there and communicated ahead of time. What made it more disappointing is that we've had multiple visits where we've waited 10+ minutes to be seen without issue. It felt like there wasn't the same consideration given in return. After years of being loyal patients, this experience was really disheartening, and unfortunately, we will not be returning.
