He is wonderful with children. He understands their unique needs, and he makes certain that they are met. My son commented to his hygienist that he didn't like the way her gloves tasted, and she made a notation in his chart that he was sensitive to tastes and smells. On our next appointment, they adapted his care based on his sensitivity. And we did not even ask them! Dr. Beyersdorfer and his staff also spend time in schools talking with children about dental care. My husband is military, and as we prepare to move this summer, my 8 year old is most upset to leave Dr. Kevin. She asked if we could still drive to see him, saying, "Mom, it's only 4 hours!" She was uncomfortable at first for the teeth cleaning so instead of forcing her, they took a break and did the dental exam. When it got back to the teeth cleaning she was more comfortable. They have TV's above head to watch with cartoons on them. My dentist office doesn't even offer that! I would definitely recommend this place for infants, toddlers and other kiddos to come get there teeth cleaned here, great for a pediatric dentistry. Last week, both of my kids had a dental appointment(5/18) and both ended up throwing up that morning. I called and rescheduled their appointments for Wednesday (5/27) . My husband has been deployed the last 2 months and I work an 8-5 job in healthcare. He came home and was able to put in leave immediately to take them to their dental appointment on Wednesday. On Tuesday night,after my 10 hour work day, I notice my text messages asking me to confirm the appointments, so I responded we would be there so they knew we were coming. I noticed a call coming in around 8:30am on Wednesday morning. I recognized the number and was not with a patient, so I was able to answer. I was informed that our appointments were cancelled because we did not confirm the appointment. Like I mentioned, I work in healthcare. We absolutely do not (&have never at any of the places I've worked) cancel appointments due to not having confirmation . People plan around appointments, take leave and time off around appointments. And while I completely understand that the offices time (& providers time) is valuable, my time is valuable as well. We have decided to change offices and providers. When I schedule an appointment, I make plans and make arrangements to keep the appointment. Especially since this specific appointment was scheduled the week before.

Dr. R. struck me as a bit of an oddball when I first met him--almost overly cheerful. Over time, though, that demeanor seemed to fade. I never felt like my dental needs were truly being addressed; it often felt more like my teeth were being prepped for future repairs. Then came a visit where he told me I needed a root canal on a healthy tooth. At the time, I didn't question his opinion, but I had my doubts. My understanding is that root canals are typically necessary when a tooth is significantly compromised. At my most recent visit, a molar cracked, and I immediately had that sinking feeling: "root canal." I was right. When I told him I wasn't on board, he simply stood there tapping his foot, waiting for me to give in. I told him I would be seeking a second opinion--and that's exactly what I did. My new dentist confirmed that a root canal was not necessary, as the tooth was still healthy. Unfortunately, that experience caused me to lose all trust.
