I had called these folks a couple of months ago based on their Yelp reviews, even though they are in Lancaster and I needed work in Encino. They were very responsive, called back right away, gave me a good quote, set the appointment and actually showed up early. They did a great job with a very fair price. After they finished their job, I had need for A/C servicing in my home in North Hills, which is also quite a drive for them. They came right out, explained everything that needed to be done, explained what they actually did, and I bought a one-year service policy from them. I dealt with another company a few months ago to fix a problem with my furnace. I was very dissatisfied with them. So, this time, when I needed someone to fix my home A/C system, I called JLC Air. My decision to call JLC was based in part on other Yelp reviews that I had read. I am just as happy as the other reviewers were. I called on Thursday and made an appointment for Friday morning (between 8 & 12). I got a phone call a little after 8AM on Friday saying the the technician was on his way. The technician, Cliff, arrived before 8:30AM. Within 15 minutes he had diagnosed that there was a leak in the system, but was out of what he needed to locate the leak. He left and returned within 30 minutes. He found the leak and, before proceeding, he quoted me a price on the complete service including the repair. His price was fair so I agreed. He welded the pipe joint that was leaking, evacuated the system and recharged it, and was on his way by about 10AM. Cliff knew what he was doing. He quickly and correctly diagnosed the problem, and finished servicing the system. He was also friendly and professional. I highly recommend JLC Air, and I will certainly call them again if I ever need my HVAC system repaired again. read more

I was in need of duct service and repair of my air conditioning unit, to my surprise once I called for service they came out the same day! Heat wave in the High Desert...and yes you guessed it, A/C goes out. A call first thing in the morning to JLC Air and yes they have been swamped with calls but they were very pleasant and understanding. They set us up with an appointment, which was for later in the afternoon. The technician, Michael Claiborne was very professional and pleasant to deal with, in just a matter of minutes he had narrowed down the problem, fixed it and double checked the system to make sure everything was up to running standards. I appreciated that the technician was wearing a company shirt and name badge with proper identification. Can't say enough about JLC Air, so it you are having any AC problems (or heating in the winter), I highly recommend and ask you to give JLC Air a call. We had a blown compactor in our AC unit and these guys were quick and very professional and offered lots of tips and info about the unit. They volunteered to clean our air filter and vacuum off the intake cover and were very nice about being quiet so they don't wake the baby in the next room. Will definitely use them again! read more

We woke up one winter morning to the furnace blowing cold air. Checked filter and unit to see it blinking 2 flashes (code for definitely bad). Called JLC and they came out within hours. Gas valve had failed. They had one at the shop and replaced it asap. Not a cheap repair, but professionally handled, super fast, and Cliff was great. Review #2 - ONCE AGAIN!!!! A YEAR LATER.... Here we are with another amazing experience and review for JLC Air !!! As our home is aging..... We thought for sure our air system went out completely! Jennifer had my Husband describe the issue over the phone prior to our appointment, and she offered to send Cliff back out. To our relief, Cliff confirmed that the "Connector for the Wiring" had gone out. Once again; JLC AIR is the BEST AIR CONDITIONING COMPANY we have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. They are 110% HONEST ALL THE WAY!! I was so worried our air had gone completely out and was very relieved to find out it was only a connector issue. We called to have them look at our rental in California City over a year ago. They came immediately and were very polite. Unfortunately we needed a new unit, but there prices were fair and they made the repair quickly. A year after getting new ac/heater, my tenant called and had a problem with the fan. Susana was very helpful over the phone and explained that the charge for the diagnosis would be applied to the cost of the repair, and that they could come out the next day between 10 and 2. Just updated our HVAC system with a new Amana system (16SEER/95% furnace) with JLC and they were amazing. Steve, Clif and a crew of 6 did an outstanding job. Attention to detail was spot on. New ducting and vents, covered everything up to not dirty the house and vaccumed afterwards to pick up the residual. Though I have only had the system for a short time, it is a night/day difference in cooling. Steve took extra time to explain every detail and I mean every detail of how it works. I did a lot of research on systems and the Amana has the best warranty in the HVAC business but you also have to have great installers otherwise the system isn't worth crap. I called on a Sunday morning when I suddenly realized my heater/air wasn't coming on, since I had an electrician out earlier in the week to set up a ceiling fan, I was afraid the electricians had fried a circuit or done something catastrophic up in the attic. When I called JLC Air, I explained to them what happened and they immediately put my mind at ease with an understanding that the power switch was most likely flipped off. I was soo relieved but I didn't have a ladder to climb up there, well Joe was willing to look at it for free even though it was a Sunday hours!! However they called back and reschedule my appt with the reason that they have more house need to repair ( i think that my service is cheaper because i just need to move my thermostat) . I had an emergency at my house and thanks to yelp, I found JLC. water starter coming out of my wall light switch and I figured that it must be condensation coming from the AC units in the attic. I called JLC and they responded quickly. Cliff when up in the attic and to my surprise found out that I actually have water pipes running across from one end to the other in the attic, and Cliff was able to find the leak and took a picture of it to show me. I had to call a plumber to fix the problem but thanks to Cliff, I was able to avoid severe damage to my walls. If you are looking for an honest company, I recommend these guys 100%. Since this incident I used them to do another job and let me tell you, I had the cousin of a coworker give me an estimate and when I asked Cliff for a quote for the same issue, it was cut in half. Always 5 star service with a reasonable price! On a Friday night in the heat of this summer my condenser fan motor failed. I was very pleased to find out no extra charge for Saturday service. I didn't have to sit around waiting all day for JLC to come to the house. Kenny was very knowledgeable and very nice. He had the new fan on the truck and a new dual capacitor that I needed. I've also used JLC to replace my furnace, I will only use their service as they are fair, responsive and describe all that their doing--also no matter who they send, Cliff, Kenny or whomever they send they are always pleasant. Called them because our AC wasn't pumping out cool air. They recommended cleaning the filter and giving the unit a chance to breathe - that worked beautifully. They didn't have to come look at out unit and just had us call them back to cancel our scheduled appointment. This is the best Company in the Antelope Valley, have been their customer for a long time and they have always been available in the worst times. JLC Air - from estimate to installation day, just an outstanding experience. We bought a house which we knew had AC installed in the past, and ductwork. After looking over Yelp reviews we had placed JLC Air at the top of our contact list, but wanted to do due diligence, Well, Joe and his brother and their team will not only show you how honest and excellent their company is, but they'll also reveal how scammy some of the other companies out there are. We received a quote 2.5 times the quote we received from Joe, same equipment, complete rewiring and stuck out on our patio which was less than ideal. Another local company told us we needed rewiring and permits to even begin installation, and a brand new heater (Joe inspected our heater on the estimate appointment and told us it was just fine - he even cleaned out the filter for me). I'm no AC expert, but after talking with Joe and getting such a good vibe from him, I knew the others I had called out were taking advantage, and it was a no-brainer to go with JLC Air. Come to install day, and the team were hard-working and fun, and guided us through the whole process. It's a good idea to get other quotes, but this company stands out from the rest by a mile. We ordered their duct clean and sanitization too, and super pleased with the result. We have cool clean air and couldn't be happier with the service we received.
