My first time here and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of goods there were. I was looking for a particular water font and found the exact one it wanted! It's a Mother's Day gift so I was very happy. The owner Jim was so helpful and pleasant. I will recommend this shop to everyone interested in religious items.

It's such a refreshing change from the same old big-box store toys--everything here feels high-quality and thoughtfully chosen. The store is absolutely magical, with beautiful window displays and whimsical little scenes everywhere you look--it's truly a feast for the eyes. I especially love the children's book section--always so inviting and perfectly styled. And the owners are the sweetest--every visit feels like stopping in to see friends.

The owners are the sweetest people and set limits on these popular products to make it fair for everyone and I respect that so much! They also don't price gouge. At a recent event they had a wide variety of Needohs to choose from. The ticket system makes it fair for everyone. To read a review stating so one felt they were discriminated against because they were a minority is a crazy accusation considering the owners are a bi-racial couple. Being upset because you didn't get your way does not automatically mean someone is racist because you're a minority. I just so happened to be behind the lady in the prior review stating she was discriminated against and that's just so wrong. I was one of the last few to get tickets for me and my kids owners were trying to stick to their policy and make it fair to every family. It was clearly posted !!! I don't think people understand what small businesses have to go through. As a local in this city who has gotten to learn more about the owners I fully support their business the family is so nice and the negative reviews do not reflect their character. Thank you for making limits fair and keeping the prices fair !!!

My friend and I were approached by three different employees during our time there. They asked if they could assist us with anything and gave some great recommendations. I was looking for a fantasy book for my teenage brother and the employee was incredibly helpful giving recommendations, finding the "teen book of the month." I didn't even know they had a teen book of the month! The organization of the store was great. The categories and book selections that were specially displayed were especially helpful. For example, in their AAPI stories section I was able to find some really interesting books that I might have not otherwise seen. A selection of their Barnes and Noble specialty book covers that feature some classic works (like Pride and Prejudice and Winnie the Pooh) were on sale for between $8-$12. For such a beautiful high quality book, I would definitely return to purchase one of those at that price. The other books though were a bit pricey. The employees there made this visit extra enjoyable. I don't go to Barnes and Noble very often, but yesterday's visit makes me want to return again soon.

Make sure you give yourself ample time as there is so many different books and sections. So nicely curated a with so many options. You are greeted as you enter and the staff is very helpful with any questions. I loved the postcards and dvds and variety. Everything is priced well and you can leave with a great deal. They also do fire sales every quarter. They also had really cute tote bags. If you have a book lover in your life this is a wonderful place to visit. They also buy books and you can bring two boxes of books to sell to them. They do not take encyclopedias but they do take text books

Similarly, when I went to checkout one hour later, I was quickly and warmly attended to. You read that right. One! Hour! There were a lot of people, but it honestly felt nice. The air buzzed with literary excitement. There were plenty of books for all tastes. I personally love literary fiction, and I was very excited to find Mark Salzman. I overheard other people gushing over their hidden gem finds, too. In the end, I got 8 books, 2 postcards, and 1 tote for less than $26. On a normal day, would I have left with all 8 books? No, but I definitely would have left with 4 of them for almost the same price. Great finds with great prices. Will definitely come back on a regular day, too.

The one Star rating should actually be a meatball!…read more On Monday my daughter spent $260 to buy three books at California Book Exchange in Fullerton. On Wednesday a friend offered her one of the needed titles to use for the semester. On Thursday my daughter tried to return this $121 new book (in new, unused condition) and was told: No Returns! As of 9/20/13 Ca Book Exchange has various return policies and requirements listed on their web site. However the bottom of the receipt states "No Returns, All Sales Final". I talked to an employee who stated the No Returns Policy was "to protect them" ...whatever that means. He further explained that once you walk out the door with the book it is no longer new. I talked to the owner who was very fluent at grunting in some foreign language ...mostly inaudible. All I could really get out of him was that he would buy the book back at the end of the semester, then he walked away. (Of course, buy the book back at the end of the semester means at the used book price ...about 1/3 the price he just sold it for) Conclusion: This place has a very limited / nonexistent return policy (depending on how they feel that day) Unless you are into self abuse, enjoy a sharp stick in the eye or are into other forms of self Mutilation etc ...don't step foot in this dump. However, if you want to learn about bad business ethics this could be a good field trip for you! My Advice: Plan ahead, get on line to buy and sell your books Without a consistent return policy there is no reason to patronize this poorly run business. Reasons to NOT Use California Book Exchange in Fullerton: a) You have a choice of book vendors on Craig's List, Amazon, E-Bay or Barnes & Noble. b) Online is far more competitive AND cheaper. c) Shipping is often included, if not, it is very cheap to ship with USPS book rate. d) If your books come from out of state you will not have to pay sales tax. e) AND ...most of these outlets REQUIRE their sellers to have a return policy. Let's cut this schmo out of the loop! Let him take his bad attitude on the road. This location would be more beneficial to Fullerton College if it were a tattoo parlor with rusty equipment.

We went into the store on Saturday and there was one person working who was helpful at helping you find your books. Never explained store policy on returning books, sales are final, what there hours were or nothing. Just wanted to sell you books. Well ended up not taking the class. Called store on Monday to find out if they were open, so I could take the book back. No answer. Could not make it to the store till Thursday and the gentlemen said I can not take this book back you only 1 day to bring it back. Told him you never said that, he said yes I did and I explained to him we called. He explained what his hours were 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. Told him there was no way to make it there before he closed due to work and school hours. He said thats not my problem that is yours. He said that is our policy and it is your problem we can not take the book back. I would never suggest anyone go in there to buy anything. Very, very rude people and do not know how to run a business. You can save money by going there but it is not worth it. Bad service, not friendly, rude there is nothing good about this place.
