We stopped by to see what was available. These stores are all closing/going out of business. They are now advertising sales up to 20-40% off. But frankly, it seems like many prices have been jacked up so high by the liquidators that the current discounts are about the amount of what the regular prices would have been on most items. We browsed the store and found a few small items that appealed. Not that they were at any real bargain -- just that we were there. I looked at some upholstery fabrics. Saw a few I liked and then had apoplexy when I got the "discount" price on them. In each instance, their fabric price would be much more than the entire cost of the furniture I wanted to upholster. If I could give less than one star I would. Customer service is an oxymoron here. Manager refused to be of any help. About a week ago I purchased over $100 in felt for a big project at my job. Paid for with a company card. Prior to checking out I asked the employee what the return policy was. She assured me that there would be no problem returning anything as long as I didn't cut the fabric. I ended up choosing a different fabric from somewhere else for my project, so I didn't touch the felt from Joann. No damage, not cut, nothing. I tried to do my return today, brought my receipt like I was told to do. Spoke with the store manager, who was extremely rude to me, not welcoming from the moment I walked in. She was obstinate and stated that she would not adhere to the policies for returns listed on their website. "Returns made with the receipt will be refunded in the original method of payment. * If the merchandise was originally purchased with Cash or a PIN-based debit card, the refund will be given in the form of cash. Refunds over $100 may be paid by a check and mailed." The store manager was not courteous whatsoever. She refused to refund me via my original method of payment. I originally purchased with a debit card and was willing to accept a check since my purchase was over $100. The manager still will not oblige, stating that I need to "call corporate", that she does not adhere to what is on the website, and is not able to write me a check (which I find hard to believe) or accommodate me whatsoever. She said that I would have to return later in the day when she had cash. Now I have to drive 30 minutes again to the store, out of my way, to hope that they have enough cash in the register to refund my purchase. I'm skeptical that they would even have enough to refund me since their customer service is so terrible, I can't imagine people wanting to still shop there. Overall, terrible experience. Never shopping at Joann fabrics ever again. Rant over. If you've read all this I commend you for your bravery. read more

HORRIBLE customer service! I was just there 17 minutes before closing at the cutting table with product (only person in line )and clerk would not cut it because they were closing in 15+ minutes! I'm a sewing teacher in the area for over 20 yrs and constantly hear complaints about this store from students. I usually go to the Joann's on sample or in pompano on federal even tho they are further. Since I only needed one quick thing and in the area I decided to stop. Never again. Manager said she CLOSES WHEN SHE WANTS not what's posted on the web or window. Tomorrow I will drive 15 miles (one way)out of my way to avoid this store. Bad practice. Corporate needs to be aware of their bad service and fix it or close the store. read more

I was in the area for a UYE and of course I had to detour and make the 10 minute drive to check out this Joann store. One of my many hobbies is sewing my own clothes and I am always in search for new fabrics. I thought this was a new store because instead of a fixed sign it has a cloth banner, but I guess that is temporary, seeing other reviews that are years old, and given the outdated look inside, it seems to have been here a while. The front of the store is a colorful mesh of artificial flowers and ferns. The fabrics are towards the back. It took me a little while to make sense of the set up. I didn't like it. I saw no rhyme or reason, but that could just be me and being used to the one by me (I don't have over 40 check ins in there for nothing!) They do carry more fabric it seems, there were a lot of isles. all very narrow, it was hard to maneuver a cart. Also, their pattern book area was a tiny table that was missing a lot of books. They had no Butterick book and that was the pattern company that was on sale when I went. I asked and I was told that if I don't see it there, then they don't have it. WHAT? Not even one book? the whole visit felt strange to me. I walked around but didn't find anything, if that makes sense. Aso, I didn't see any sale signs hung, and I know there were sales going on. Joann is one of the stores that has the most sales I've ever seen. I feel like if I skip going a week I may miss something. I guess if my store was like this one (wishy, washy) I wouldn't spend as much money. Silver lining LOL. I left empty handed, bowing to get to my Joann before the end of the day. All in all this is an OK store, if you are a crafter, it doesn't get much better than Joann Fabrics. read more

I will NEVER SHOP at Joann's in Boyton Beach. I was trying to buy stretchy Fabric. I was not allowed to open the fabric at the cutting table. The salesperson who I learned was the manager said "NO" and put her fist on the fabric "I will allow that, but will give you a tape measure if you need one". I was trying to determine the amount of stretch of the fabric both horizontally and vertically. She was so rude. It was my third time, each purchasing time ribbon while noticing how empty the store was. read more

Those who have the Yelp app probably see me check-in this store a lot... I just love crafting with ribbons, beads, and FABRIC. As always they have a great selection of fabrics from designer series to fleece and vinyl and even sequined fabrics. They also have more of a selection with their ribbons and trims than Michael's does. They carry the snazzy fringe and embroidered ribbons, too. I don't know if any of you remember how Wal-Mart back in the day used to have a great big bin of fabrics on sale and also returned/last remainder fabrics on clearance? Our local Walmart RARELY does this and when they do, it's an itty bitty bin of crap fabrics. Jo-Anns always has interesting and great fabrics on clearance in their Red Tag Fabric aisle and clearance bins. Also, if you do have a phone and use it for discounts, do download their phone app if you haven't already, for even more coupons on-the-go so that you can use to get even a better deal with your purchases. Why is this store even open if the workers don't want to help? I went to simply return an online order item and the employee, Margaret, didn't want to help in returning the item. Per Joann's online policy I should be able to return an online order item in store. However Margaret was absolutely no help in manually entering the return saying that I have call customer service and a bunch of other nonsense. After driving 20 minutes to the location I got nothing but a waste of time and an attitude. I hope other Joann's in the area have better customer service but I honestly recommend everyone to steer clear of this location. read more

I went in today and the young lady at the check out was very nice and helpful, she needed the manager to come to help her. When she arrived she had a nasty attitude and was bossy to the sweet young lady and then gave me an attitude and was very rude. I have noticed a few times now that whoever is in charge is very curt with the staff no matter who is there very inappropriate and unprofessional. Masks for our hospitals....... I called and asked if they had mask kits that I could pick up and see at home and make for our health care workers. Here's what I heard.....yes we have kits. Love hate relationship with Joann. Few things I love; Love that they are nearby Staff is usually very helpful Huge selection of fabric and ribbon LOVE that they accept competitors coupons and you can use more than 1 coupon! HATE; That they don't stock up on sold out items fast It's a little on the small size the store itself Not a very large cake aisle Some things can be a lil overpriced even if they are on sale! Went today (4 days later) and STILL out! Shipment came on Monday and there weren't any on the shelves! I asked an employee and the manager said they wouldn't be on the shelf till probably Friday,!?!? Sooo many memories of my mom dragging me along to these fabric stores and yesterday we revisited said memory-- this time though I was way more willing! We came in search of buttons for a dress she is having made and she was quite pleased with the selection available! While she labored over buttons, I wandered around and found amazing pieces to build together many of the projects I've pinned on Pinterest. Prices are quite reasonable and there are soo many options for everything! After locating the desired buttons, we moved on to fabrics! Saturday afternoon so there were quite a few patrons waiting but not too long of a wait! Keep a lookout for coupons and sales to optimize your purchase! AWFUL customer service. When I asked to speak to the store manager about Debra's terrible attitude and found out SHE was the one in charge... I was in shock. This lady is truly awful. She was gossiping about her other employees and completely ignored me on purpose as I waited for help. She was so annoyed to answer my questions and she has NO knowledge whatsoever about fabrics/crafting in general. I asked for recommendations for something I was making and she literally said to me "isn't it your job to know your own measurements?" I was looking for a pattern and after searching for three pattern numbers I approached the girl in the materials section, with the black and purple hair, and asked if she could help me find a pattern. Without looking up, she said "it's probably out of stock if you can't find it" and continued putting stickers on what she was doing. No other comment. No offer to help at all. More or less like if you can't find it, too bad. At 8:30 they were announcing they were closing, when they are supposed to be open until 9:00. After purchasing a pillow I realized it rang up wrong price. I asked about it. Cashier wanted to verify with manager that yes, because there were multiple pillows next to many other pillows that were 60% off would they honor it. She said no. I asked why not if there were multiple in the wrong area. Lynn (manager) came to front to tell me that she doesn't care if it was in the wrong spot that she is not going to honor the percent off. She then told me she also doesn't care that there was more than one that she goes by the tag and maybe I should have looked at the tag as well. Needless to say, I returned my entire purchase and I will ABSOLUTELY not be back to Jo-Anns. And from the way this store in Boynton looks, they are doing something really wrong. I was ready to pick up my online order from the Boynton Beach Joann. I came ready with my confirmation and "ready for pick up" emails as well as screenshots of the order. Before I could even speak, the employee, Deborah, was rude to me at the register. After telling her the name of the order she halfheartedly checked the pickup and said she didn't see any yarn, not even checking for my last name. I tried to show her my emails and she ignored me, saying it wasn't a receipt and wasn't valid. My daughter came to see what was going on, as Deborah was raising her voice. My daughter then showed Deborah the receipt again and the yarn was sitting right at the front of the pick up orders. Without apologizing, or even acknowledging the situation, she made a scrunched up face and said "My intention was to give you a hard time". Afterwards, as I asked to speak to another employee, Deborah cancelled my order. When another employee came to help me, Deborah came back to continue to instigate the argument and told us we had to wait 10 days to redo the purchase. It is in a good location with a lot of parking. The store isn't always the cleanest or most organized but is usually okay. The staff are hit or miss, some are great and helpful while others are clueless and need training in customer service. The selection of fabric is pretty good for the size of the store. The seasonal stuff they have for Halloween and Christmas are always cute and they have a good variety. Overall, this is a good store for your craft needs. read more

The black guy (had a afro) that was in the back cutting fabric (I want to say his name was Donald), was very rude and did not have any type of customer service. I stood in front of the counter he walked around, looked straight at me and didn't say anything to me and kept walking. I asked him a question about pinking shears. Eventually he helps me. I walk back up to front to check out, then another customer asked him to help him cut some fabric and that is when I looked up and saw him and he was looking at me. That makes me think I was being followed because he thought I was going to steal something. I felt so unwelcomed in this store.
