The staff was friendly and had me pay before the balloons were filled and pickup later. When I arrived to pickup the balloons, they told me the Mylar balloons don't float and handed them to me in a bag. I paid $12 for two balloons that I could have blown up with my mouth. When I asked how to handle this I was told "that's not our fault". Showing willingness to adjust the price or make the situation right would have had me leave with a better opinion of the situation. Unfortunately I left frustrated and did not feel that tue store was concerned with my wasting money.

Turns out I was a bit confused and ordered the wrong one. In a matter of days they sent the one I was looking for along with a prepaid envelope to return the one I didn't need. So not only was their price good, their service was stellar. They quickly exchange it AND pay for the postage - wow! If I lived nearby I'd apply for a part-time job. They must be a terrific place to work. If they handled this tiny issue with speed and professionalism, imagine how they'll treat you. Walking in you could tell that items were already picked over and it was hard to tell which department was where. You didn't have that merchandise to the ceiling look everyone is used to. I ended up getting some bedsheets, a duvet, and a shower curtain. All things that I wanted/needed at a much less price than I expected. I mean, I wasn't expecting to find anything, but I wound up with these three items which came out to be less than one at the two nearby department stores. If I would have put more thought into this visit, I would have gotten a cart and made my way through this store with a fine toothed comb. I would have for sure made sure I went up and down every aisle to just snag a deal on an item I could have used. But, honestly, there wasn't going to be much left if I came back. The 10% discount was the selling factor. I bought the blower but didn't pay attention to the discount at check out. I returned later to point out the error, but was told that it was not included on sale items. The blower was not on sale as verified by the manager. The register had a false sale attached to the item. when the "sale" was removed from the register and the retail price was wrung up, it would allow the 10% discount. However, I was then told that Echo products were not included or qualified for the 10% discount. I couldn't return the item because of the stores policy of no returns or refunds for gas powered equipment. I specifically requested the 10% discount at check out and showed my military ID. Nothing was ever said that Echo products didn't qualify for the discount. I guess I learned my lesson and won't shop at this store in the future.

I had a short timeline for a need for a pair of brass plates to go into a shadowbox. I came to Chesapeake Trophies on a Monday, and I saw the sign on the door that stated Monday's were by appointment only but the owner waved me inside and asked what I needed. I wound up leaving shortly afterwards with exactly what I was looking for, two gorgeous brass plates professionally mounted in a shadowbox. The storefront is tightly packed with many examples of what can be made here, and there are far more examples available in their catalogs. Something to remember with this store is that it isn't like the mall stores where they only display and sell things made elsewhere. Chesapeake Trophies is directly connected to their engraving and wood shop through a door in the back of the storefront, so there will be dust, but they are more able to accomodate short notice orders. It may not look the nicest, but you will have high quality keepsakes and trophies made here at better prices than what I was able to find on the base nearby, all with outstanding customer service.
