This is my go to store for frames and holiday items. It's easy to get into and out of. It's large, and well laid out so you can easily find what you need and want. The associates are friendly and knowledgeable. The sales save me a lot of money, and that's before the coupons are applied that I received via text or email. Today I needed a frame for a matted photo. My husband and I found several frames that we liked. Only one allowed us to fit the print comfortably inside the frame. It was on sale for $10. With the 20% off coupon, the total was $8.55. Chad was our cashier - fast, friendly and efficient. He was one of four cashiers, so our wait in line was less than five minutes. A crafting heaven, This is where I go when I need to pick up something that is specifically for a project. They're one of the few places that still has fabric, and a fine selection too! Late in the evenings, there aren't many folks on staff, so you may end up waiting for a while when it comes to measuring and obtaining fabrics. I picked up 3 ornaments that were priced buy 1 get 2 free. There were multiple signs on the isle. I went to the ribbon section picked out some ribbon. Spent just a few more minutes looking around. I went to the register to pay and the ornaments rang up 50% off. Not what the signs said when I was on that isle. They changed the signs while I was in the store for just a few minutes. Expect to wait in line for thirty minutes because there's only ever one register open and at least 30 old ladies with yarn in front of you trying to pay with pennies. I wouldn't be complaining if this wasn't my experience quite literally EVERY SINGLE TIME I AM HERE. This is really about the only sewing supply store around. They have party supplies, cake supplies of all types, wall decor, art supplies and artificial flowers. There's also a decent framing department. There's classes of all types to teach you the right way of sewing , crafting, etc. A really good selection of fabrics and trims and all kinds of kids toys, games, etc. Why not 5 stars? Understaffed! I found Jo Ann to be a source for so many needs! Its also nice that this store is just down the street about 2.5 miles from my house! Home accessories, holiday decorations, anything to satisfy your craft addictions from scrapbooking to jewelry creation, creating a personal costume for a party or holiday event, great framing, fabrics, and so much more. As a past interior designer (Shhhh, ASID cert!), I will go there, look through the informative/educational magazines available, and refresh my thoughts on decorating ideas. Between the two JoAnns in Pinellas county, this one is the winner. It seems like they always have nicer apparel fabric options every time I've stopped at this location. The staff is always courteous, and the store is fairly tidy. I can't comment on all the made in China knick knacks, but really, there's no reason for premade crap in a craft store. The rest of their textile stuff seems on par with the average JoAnn location too. Overall, for a chain, it's not bad. It's a pain in the ass to get to it from where I live, but if I'm within 10-15 minutes I generally will swing by to see what I might have to impulsively buy. read more

Love this JoAnn store, it's great. Has everything you need, it's 9 miles from me but I don't care. Staff are so helpful and nice. Can't find that everywhere. Why is that?. But even customers are helpful. I asked a lady if she was a regular and she said yes and I asked her if she knew where the glue guns were. She was nice, helpful and spot on. Thank you. Young girl cutting fabric was so rude and cut dirty fabric for me after I asked her to cut off the dirty part, women in sewing section was very rude when I asked if they had an item, long lines, disgruntled employees. Sigh...as I embark on my new hobby of dressmaking, I stumble through the world of fabrics and lining and interfacing. Which brings me to Jo-Ann's, as I don't really know where else to go, and they appear to have everything. What I didn't expect was at 8p at night, an hour before closing, everyone and their mom would be stocking up at the cutting counter. The scanners weren't working, the employees seemed burned out and angry at each other, and there simply wasn't enough help. Maybe everyone else has my predicament of working late hours and not living closer to any other Jo-Ann's locations- so we all end up here, at the same time, buying everything we can because who knows the next time we'll venture back to this place. What can I say- I could continue shopping on their website but sometimes, buying in person is best. Basically, I do so myself coming back here, because my options appear to be limited for the time being. read more

Several months ago, I had the opportunity to enter a Jo-Anns store for the first time, as I needed a swatch of material for a class project. The customer service was excellent, but perhaps extra help is understandably needed, during major holidays. After receiving my order, I walked to the customer Check-Out Area to finish my shopping. Cashier, Mary Ann completed my purchase. However, Mary Ann asked whether I knew about the store's discount policy of 15% off the pricing of certain items. Furthermore, she advised me of other various features and benefits found on the selling floor. Before leaving JO-ANNS, I sensed that the Curlew Ave, Dunedin Store would be a great outlet for my future business. Furthermore, there was Nancy who met me and took care of my latest selling need, which required that I secure fabric for a local church play. She fulfilled the process completely, displaying for my view, several beautiful spines of gorgeous fabrics. Nevertheless, Nancy advised me of store discounts totaling 20%. With my pleasing shopping experience, I left JO-ANNS, going onward to tell family and friends about the new found arts, crafts and materials outlet. As someone who travels weekly for work and frequents places like JoAnn, Michaels and Hobby Lobby, including locations across the country, I can attest the Dunedin JoAnn Fabrics location has (hands down) the rudest and most unhelpful employees. This seems to be a systemic problem for this particular store and it's a shame, because the store itself is typically clean, well stocked and easy to navigate. Checkout lines are often long since they only have 1 or 2 cashiers working (even during busy days like weekends, when the new ad is published). I just personally left this location empty-handed, because the person they had working behind the fabric counter went out of his way to act like a total jerk when I asked a simple question about a particular upholstery fabric I purchased yesterday and returned today to purchase the remainder of. It costs nothing to be a decent human being, but apparently that's not a prerequisite for employment at this location. From now on, I'll go out of my way to visit the JoAnn in Citrus Park, since they seem to train their staff how to treat high-value customers who regularly frequent the store. read more

I shop at this store very often. There is never anyone on the floor to help. You have to go searching for someone all the time. But this is the closest store to me that carries the yarn that I use. Today I asked for help purchasing a yarn, the color of which was not in the bin where I saw it two weeks ago. The manager said they cannot look for it unless I had a number. So I looked up on my phone and found the color and reluctantly he helped find the number. Then he said he couldn't look for it because it would take HOURS as all the yarn is dumped in a pile in the back when it is delivered. It noted online that there were 3 skeins in the store. I pointed this out to him and again he said it would take hours to find it. I told him I was unhappy with the service I get, it seems no one can find anything. AND THEN HE TOLD ME, A CUSTOMER, TO MY FACE, THAT I WAS BEING ARGUMENTATIVE. I then told him that I work with the public (which I do in the Hotel Business), and if I ever told a guest that he/she were being argumentative when they were asking for help, I wouldn't keep my job for long and then I told him that he can forget about trying to find anything for me and I left the store. I will not go back and will shop at Michaels or at the website for the yarn I want to purchase. read more

This revamped craft store is fantastic! It has grown from a mere fabric store to house all your arts and crafts needs. The selection of silk florals is great. If you are into decorating for the holidays - look no further! They also have a great framing section w/ custom or premade frames. Grown white male tall balding fuc$tard employee at Joannes fabric walks right into my daughter and stands there and makes my orthopedically impaired vision impaired disabled daughter get out of his way and you can believe I said something to him out loud for that group at shoppers to hear. This is my last day shopping in the store ever. I left once leaving a pile of purchases near the front because they had a huge line, employees standing around and talking while not assisting with checkout. I also saw an elderly woman looking for help while I was there- none to be found. If you need what they sell, please go to Michaels. We will be shipping there and Amazon. There were four people working when I was there - one cutting material, one help with picture framing and two at the checkout. And all four has people waiting in line. I have slight addiction to sewing and fabrics! Jo-Ann Fabrics is a chain and they to do have a lot of stuff for not just sewing but all types of crafting. This is also my go to store for Wilton candy supplies. Some of the fabrics are of lower quality but there is some nice material here and the staff is usually helpful. THey have a large selection of fabrics that are really cool. If you are into making your own clothes, blankets etc., it's really great. My wife and I make double layered polar fleece blankets for people for Christmas and birthdays. This was a bad experience from start to finish, and I see from the reviews that I'm not alone. I ran in to grab something before my bridal dress fitting. What should have taken 5 minutes took almost 30 and I was almost late to my appointment. First, I couldn't find the section I was looking for. I don't frequent Joann's much, but I was expecting it to be like Michaels where they have big signs marking each section so you know which side of the store to head to, but instead there was only a couple larger signs for big sections like "fabric" or "florals" and then only tiny signs inside the aisles for the smaller categories not visible when you look down the center aisle. I ended up walking down every aisle until I found the section I needed (just my luck). Finally I found the right section (I thought) for what I was looking for, but I couldn't find it at all. I knew it was at the store because the website said there was 3 in stock at that store. So I finally got tired of trying to find it myself and proceeded to look for help. Good luck. There was no one. There was one person at the sewing section who said they weren't from that particular store and didn't know where things were (though I'd think most stores are set up somewhat similarly and she probably could've still helped me a little, but she was very polite and nice about it). I went to the front to ask a cashier for help, but there was only one with a huge line so that wasn't gonna work. Finally, the person working the fabric cutting section became available, but when I asked for help, she just told me the aisle number. When I said I had checked that aisle but couldn't find it, she just stared at me blankly until I just walked away. The proper way to respond would've been "oh let me see if I can help find that for you!" or "I'm not allowed to leave the fabric table, but let me call another employee who should be able to help you!" Which leads me to believe there probably weren't any other employees to call to help me since if there were, they'd probably be assisting the one cashier who was way overloaded with customers. And then to make matters worse, I ended up deciding to purchase something different that hopefully will still work since I never found what I was looking for, but I spent another 10 minutes in line waiting to check out cause the line was wrapped all the way out of the check out line and there was only one cashier. Either this store is understaffed or they're poorly trained, but honestly I think it's the former because both the fabric cutting person and the cashier were nice enough and the cashier worked as quickly as she possibly could, but she definitely appeared overworked and apparently they had to call in an employee from another store for some reason. I gave the extra star for the effort I saw from the cashier. I literally HATE giving bad reviews, because I was a customer service employee once too and especially with covid, it's not easy. But honestly my bad review is not a review of the employees. I would've done some things differently, but at the end of the day, my review is more about the management because they need more employees. Will stick to Michaels from now on because they're much more organized and there's always someone around to help. read more

I tend to stick to Michaels for craft, copic marker, drawing pad and canvas items as their variety and pricing are better, but the deals that Joanns has on fabric, especially when you have a coupon, can't be beat. I AM BEYOND UPSET! This store is a nightmare when it comes to customer service. EVERY TIME i go there there's 2 working registers and a line half way across the store. There's NEVER a single associate anywhere in the store to help you out when you need to find something. The fabrics department is horrible, 2 people servicing 10 - are you kidding me? On average I WASTE 40 of my life walking around and waiting in line. Unfortunately this is the only store in my area and also unfortunately they have the items I need.So have to go there. next time though I am yelling at someone, this is ridiculous! read more
