An employee named Sally was quite rude to me when I asked if this location carried any long-arm staplers. Her response was something along the lines of "No. This is a craft store not an office supply." in a tone that left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Will not be returning to this location. I called the one in Livonia, was put on hold for almost 30 minutes. I hung up and called back, the SAME girl picked up the phone and then placed me back on hold, called back AGAIN and she answered the phone and hung up on me. Called a 4th time and FINALLY just drove there (while still on hold) and asked to speak to a manager. Voiced my complaints and showed her that I was STILL on hold. This is a major store. They have supplies for every craft and tons of all kinds of fabric Great sales with 40 % off coupons and useful clearance items. Staff have never been rude to me. I am at this or the other location at least twice a week. I have to set my spending limit before I go into the store or I over spend! read more

This store would definitely make the four star review if they added a few more staff members. Having to wait over 30 min to get some fabric cut is just too long and then to have to wait to check out on top of it is really frustrating. I do like their sales and selections of fabric and the staff is always knowledgeable and mostly friendly. If you're headed there in a hurry be prepared to wait a while once you get there. read more

If I could give less than 1 star I would. I see there have been SEVERAL other 1 star reviews and I know why. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!!! The staff is rude and insolent. I ordered today, online for the new curbside pick up. I went to pick up the order. Before leaving I attempted to call the store SEVERAL times. The phone just rang, and rang until it cut off. This happened to me at least 6 times. When I arrived there I parked by the curb. I tried to call again. This tine the phone line rang busy. My husband went up to the store and looked into the window to see if anyone was even there. There was a woman on the phone. When she got off the phone she came over and spoke to him thru the window. She chastised him for not calling first. He tried to tell her that we had called, but no one would answer the phone. She told him to go back to the car, open the trunk, and get out an ID. We followed her instructions to the tee. By the time she came out of the store there were 3 other vehicles waiting. She went to every other vehicle first before coming over to ours. And the first thing she said to us- very rudely-was "excuse me, but you need to be patient". I did not appreciate this all. She was already insolent at the window. Then she asked if we had some paperwork she referred to as fulfillment paperwork. I tried to give her the paperwork that I had, but she refused to look at. She said I needed to leave and come back. I asked her how I could get a refund and she said I would have to speak with someone else. Now, the store is not open as it is unessential. I am doing them a favor by still shopping there and trying to jump thru the curb side service hoops. I asked her name, she refused to tell me and ran back in the store. She was old, with gray hair in a pony tail and wore glasses. Her customer service was the WORST!!! She needs to be fired!! Needless to say, this is my LAST visit to Joann Fabrics. I will not give my hard earned money over to a store that treats its customers with such disregard. read more

Craft-nazis. The people who work there, especially at the fabric cutting counter are just plain MEAN. If you don't know EXACTLY what you want and how much of it, they have no time for your amateur butt. Every time I've been in there to buy fabric and they ask me, in a tone of genuine interest in my project, what I am using it for, invariably they roll their eyes and tell me I'm getting the wrong fabric. Um. Ok. But no actual advice or help. Special order fabrics are a nightmare also. Spent 20 minutes in line to order it, got the call that it was in, spent 10 minutes at the "customer service" counter while staff answered phone call after phone call (excuse me, I took the time and trouble to come in person, maybe you could put them on hold) to be told that I really needed to pick it up back at the fabric cutting counter. So another 20 minute wait at the fabric cutting counter for someone to go in the back and grab my order (which probably customer service chick could have done) and got attitude when I asked to see the fabric to make sure it was what I ordered. THEN another 10 minutes in line to check out. I'll be buying fabric online from now on. read more

C. and I wanted to clean and restuff my old teddy bear for my son, so over the Christmas break, we stopped by Jo-Ann to pick up some polyfil fiber for the project. We found the pillow and bear stuffing materials in the back of the store pretty quickly and easily. Checkout was a breeze. "Good luck with your project!" the woman said. Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service. This Joann's location is a joke, their customer service is a dumpster fire. John who always seems to be at the front desk is always terribly unpleasant and disrespectful. He's terrible to everyone I ever see him interact with every time I go in there. I have no idea how he hasn't been fired. This interaction was particularly crappy. I ordered a product for pickup and they canceled my order because they didn't have it. Turns out I went to the store and they had FOUR of the item on the shelves. They are just lazy jerks that don't want to do their jobs and choose to belittle you as a customer. I went across the parking lot and got the exact same item at Michael's for $1 less AND used the same coupon I would have at joanns because Michael's takes Joann's coupons. Two times my mom has encountered extremely rude employees of this location. My mom and her friends are accomplished seamstress's and spend a great deal of money in that store. When the representatives treated my mom and aunt like they were an inconvenience to the point of making a rude comment is totally unacceptable. She did complain to the management but obviously they didn't fix a thing! I, along with all my family and friends, will never shop there again! This JoAnn's is probably the best one that I've been to. I'm a craft nerd so I tend to live here at times and it's where I pick up a lot of my jewelry making and soap making supplies. They've got a good selection of fabrics and now there are a lot of already pre-made things, which is kinda nice. The prices at Jo-Ann's are reasonable, but I do wish they had more beads. You can pretty much find what you need here when it comes to crafts though. read more

I've heard some horror stories about some JoAnn stores, but I've always been really pleased with the one in Frandor. They have tons of stuff for scrapbookers and sewers (including a nice selection of fabric), plus stuff for soapmaking, jewelrymaking, painting, you name it. The staff is always helpful, though there could be more of them. read more

The worst service, your blue haired fabric person very unfriendly acted like she was doing us a favor. If your your tellers are not trained as your teller mentioned she should not be left alone. Joanne Fabrics should be a place that's completely service minded friendly as most people need guidance in a store with so many things. Please train your staff and teach them manners!!!! read more

Drive by this store, you will thank me. The Worst Customer Service ever from the fabric counter to the cash register rude, unfriendly staff. I have been working on a project for the past few months and have stopped in this store because of the location, each time I come to the store I hope that I get different staff to help me. Each time I get different staff they are just as rude as the others. When you use a coupon they are especially horrible to you. Drive past this store!! Visited week before Easter. Not one yard of silk anywhere in the store which I found very strange, not to mention irritating, for a fabric store. Employee was completely unhelpful - never moved from where she was sitting -- didn't recommend other similar fabrics, etc. when I asked if they had muslin, she pointed toward a corner of the store. I am on two canes for two surgical knees - never offered to help me in anyway even as to what row the muslin was in. I will NEVER go back if I have to weave my own fabric!!!!! By the way, I was one of three customers in the store -- it was early morning and not busy at all! Just for the record, this is the first negative review I think I've ever written. read more
