I really like the Joann stores and they offer a nice selection of things that hobby lobby and Michael's don't. However both of my online experiences have been horrible. The first time I ordered online I ordered. 7 items then day after day they slowly whittled that down saying they don't actually have the items. I ended up with 1 of the 7 items. So we thought this time we would try to do a curbside pickup order. To make a long story short it took several calls and a total of 3 trips to finally get the yarn we had ordered. Customer service was nice but they all wanted to pass it onto a manager and than the manager couldn't seem to be bothered with either answering much less resolving the issue. I told the girl cutting material that I wanted the whole thing. She said she won't do it. How many yards did I want I said the whole bolt. She was adding more to it as she was counting it. I was dropping on the flour and she had a bad attitude wouldn't roll it up evenly on the cardboard. It was to be over $200. Purchase. After she made such a mess of it cause she didn't want to do it. I told her to keep it. Then I went to the 2nd store. She also show a bad attitude. I won't shop at either store ever again. read more

12/17/24 6:45 pm. We went in tonight to purchase a sewing machine. On joanns website it was marked down $20. I asked Addie at the register if they price matched their own website and she told me no and to order it curbside instead. I searched the website and it says you CAN price match the website for an in store purchase. Addie then asked her manager over the radio and was told they do NO price matches even though the wall behind her at the checkout states they DO price match. The manager on duty did not even come up to the register. Literally ridiculous and went to michaels instead. read more

I have always shopped in store, and always have a great experienc, however I devided to order online for the first time. The total cost of my order was $64. they charged me the 64, the next day they charged me again. so a total of $130 dollars was taken. the first $64 is still pending in my account, which caused it to be negative. it's been 9 days and they still haven't released my money. tried calling customer service 3 times. the first 2 times I was hung up on. The third time the assistant informed me that they charhe you when you first make a purchase, that amount gets put on a hold. then when they ship your order they charge you again!!! Then eventually they release the rest of the money. I will never buy online or in this store ever again. They should be covering my overdraft fee too. Highly disappointed. read more

I booked my first sewing class at JoAnns, Beginner Sewing. It was kind of pricey (for my lifestyle) once you add in supplies, about $70 total. After reading the national reviews, I thought it wasn't going to be so great, but I wanted to get started somewhere & soon! When I went to the store to get help signing up and with supplies everyone told me the teacher I enrolled with is awesome. So I started to feel better. (Customer service is great there, even when they are busy!) The class was way better than I expected! We learned everything I was worried they wouldn't go over from reviews. (Basics like threading the machine, bobbins...)The teacher really was amazing and let us be as creative as we wanted while guiding us one on one. I can't recommend JoAnn's for classes but I can recommend classes taught by Lori at the NW OKC JoAnns. read more

this is kind of a sad little tale. the brick and mortar carries stuff and online has larger selection with a draw back the warehouse does not know the difference between a dressmakers & tailors pressing ham. online sells both but when one orders dressmakers ham and receives tailors ham it is disappointing twice. there is a difference that was verified by the manufacturing company but joann does not understand that. another draw back is cs will tell you they will check this out and let you know in 2-3 days, do not hold your breathe. it will be closer to three weeks if ever. further, if one wants to purchase fabric online this is not the place, weight per yard/meter is not stated nor is how often pattern repeats. again cs will tell you they will find out and you won t hear from them ever on how often pattern repeats. read more

It's great fun to laugh about fabric and craft store, yes. (Let's face it -- the average patron around here seems to be a rather rotund, home schooling, Nazarene housewife who's insistent upon making google-eyed, rabbit-faced potholders, or plastic fern arrangements, or some other god-awful monstrosity covered with glitter and bugle beads. After all, the church basement supper and the Tea Party Women's Luncheon Club alike always need table arrangements, right?) But, jokes and stereotypes aside, this place DOES have a wide selection of things that we all need from time to time. I came here to buy a pair of pinking shears to make neck kerchiefs for an animal adoption fair. I came here to buy upholstery fabric for a friend who's re-covering her dining chairs. I came here to buy craft glue for my niece. (Some stupid school project, yeah, but hey . . . God knows Oklahoma schools are so damn broke thanks to the Republican idiots in office that we have to buy ALL school supplies for students nowadays.) I came here to find "silk" flowers for my great-aunt's gravestone. (Yeah, they're Technicolor garish and tacky as hell, but the cemetery association allows only fake flowers. Fact.) Now that Hancock's is gone, this is really the only big show in town, kids. (And I steadfastly REFUSE to give Hobby Lobby one f*cking dime of my hard earned money.) As a certified sewing instructor I was amazed to go into the store and see how much fabric had been sold during this pandemic! I picked up a free mask pattern when all this first started and have busy ever since making fun masks. It's great to know people are sewing again and hopefully teaching their kids to sew!! Man it's been a minute since I stepped foot inside a Jo-Ann. My mom loves sewing so that was the only time I ever went in. After a failed Etsy purchase, I made the decision to try my luck at a diy project. With a 60% off coupon in hand, I dragged my husband an one year old son to the store (they stayed in the car most of the time) for my materials. This place--like most Jo-Ann Fabrics--was huge! It was also very clean and kept together. I was able to find everything I was looking for. The cashier was extremely warm considering she was the only person checking folks out (there was a line). She even let me use multiple coupons that scored me $45 in savings! We don't live in this area but I will definitely return to Jo-Ann's for future needs. read more

This store used to be staffed with friendly, helpful, knowledgeable people. In the couple months since I've last visited that's certainly changed. I didn't recognize any of the employees, but I did recognize that they didn't seem particularly delighted with their jobs, nor interested in making things better for the customers. Thing one: after gathering what I'd come for, I wandered the jewelry aisle to see what's new, as one does. A certain extensive brand was tagged at 50% off, and when I say tagged I don't mean one or two haphazard labels, but big bold signs prominently placed every three feet or so, on every aisle that offered that brand; clearly on special and clearly intended to entice impulse buying. I happily obliged, choosing a couple fun hair accessories. Except they rang up full price. When I inquired about the sale the cashier said he didn't think so. While I mentioned the tags advertising the sale, the next cashier over said something about her computer still saying yes, the sale was valid. Rather reluctantly my cashier said he'd adjust the price for me as if he were doing a special and somewhat painful favor! How about you cheerfully honor the sale price posted, and then maybe have someone remove the 20 or so tags if you think the sale is over? Thing two: because I had not received a recent sale flyer in the mail, I searched my phone for the standard 40% coupon, again, as one does. Without my glasses I couldn't clearly see every little detail on the website, but I did make out "40% off one regularly priced item, valid online or in store". Showing it to the guy, while saying I hadn't got the flyer in my mail, he told me that was just an ad for a coupon available on their app. Now in most such cases, the cashier is more than happy to offer to scan the coupon on the flyer that is inevitably stacked right there at the checkout. Not this guy. So my 12.99 item ended up being full price, which is another reason I wasn't interested in paying full price for the impulse items as well. All in all not the customer-oriented experience I used to get here. read more

Since this is the only JoAnn in OKC, there isn't much with which to compare. However, this location has several issues. The fabric cut counter is always really backed up and few pay attention to the number system. It seems like Saturday and Sundays should have 2 members assigned to the cut counter. The fabric aisles themselves are very close together and if there is more than one customer it is claustrophobic nightmare. The "business" next door is always pumping their subwoofer and I can barely hear myself think on the east side of the store. The registers are frequently understaffed on the weekends as well. read more

My boyfriend went here right before covid 19 hit for me to get 3yrds of fabric. I have just gotten to the project and found that whomever cut the fabric gave him TWO pieces!! One at around a yard and another 2 yard piece. I couldn't believe it, and now that covid has hit its near impossible to do anything about it so thank you for ruining my project. Extremely disappointed in the individual who decided to cut corners because he didn't know any better. Abhorrent way to treat customers. read more

This store Refused to price match themselves for online prices. Then tried to tell me that if I ordered online it would take a day before my order was processed. I've been shopping at joanns for years and this is a first. Other joann stores have always price matched themselves and ordering online only takes an hour or two unless they just refuse to work with their customers. This store is a last resort for fabric by the yard for me. I have never been there without having to wait a good half hour to have fabric cut. They have one person cutting and tons of quilters with piles of fabric. I don't know why they can't assign more people to the cutting tables but it certainly puts a dent in the amount of business I give them. read more

My hobby is sewing. After Hancock's closed this is all that's left to sexists. They are heavy on quilting cottons and decorated fabrics but precious little fashion fabrics and NO double gauze for baby blankets. We need another fabric store option in OKC/Edmond. read more

Store had nice selection of material @ good prices. The lady doing the cutting was nice knowledgeable and competent but buried with customers. I waited for 15 minutes and saw no end in sight. I asked the manager if he could get her some help. He blew me off. Saw him chatting with a cashier as I walked out. Store lost my business. Manager isn't one. read more

Take your business elsewhere. The store is poorly stocked and always in disarray. There is never anyone available to help, usually just two people working at any given point who can't leave their stations. They say they price match, but there's all these stipulations in place that prevent price matching from being valid. And forget your coupons? Well, you're out of luck because they won't even bother looking you up in their system. Worst part is just about every manager is an absolute nightmare to speak to. One had bad hygiene to the point that he made me sick. Another looked like she'd rather be elsewhere than doing her job. And the store manager never smiles or engages her customers at all. It's all enough to leave such a foul taste in my mouth, I'd rather give Hobby Lobby my business. This store either needs a severe staff overhaul or be denied so much business that they're forced to close. read more

I will never shop at a Joann's store again. I bought a Silhouette Cameo 3. Asked them before buying it what the return policy is. (Its clearly stated on receipt and up on their wall). When returning the item, I was informed at 11:20 am that they didn't have enough cash to make that refund (322.00). They also, couldn't put it on my debit card because it was considered cash when swiped as debit. That I could come back and keep checking to see if they had the cash to make the refund or I could get a corporate check(but that would be in the mail and could take 10-15 days). This is unacceptable! There is no reason that they shouldn't have the means or funds to make a refund on an item that they sell in their store! Whether that be a cash safety box or a safe of some sort to be able to provide their customers with what they promise. If other corporate stores can do it so should Joanns. That was my first time at Joann's and definitely my last! PS after calling around number after number they were all of a sudden able to refund my money on my card. (How strange). Be Leary if you may have to return an item! The manager on duty wasn't very concerned about the ordeal to begin with until her store manager contacted her. (Manager on duty needs quite the attitude adjustment in taking care of a customer and figuring out issues.).
