Racially discriminated my mom and wouldn't cut fabric for her while many others were getting fabric cut. There were two workers there and one of them said she hated my mom and wouldn't help her at all. the other person in there was a manager, i know it was 20 minutes before closing but my mom only needed 2 yards and 7 inches of plastic that she uses to cover her table, which doesn't take too long cut because i have gone myself and she decided to go herself the other day. Don't know why they would treat her that way she is a person just like any other person, makes sense they are closing it. I guess this is the normal and everywhere you go they will treat people bad because of the color of their skin or simply for speaking another language. read more

Positive: conveniently located and adequately stocked. Negative: Joann sends discount coupons electronically. For the second time, the cashier cannot access the discount code from my phone. Joann app announces that "something has gone down." The first time this happened, the cashier pulled a printed coupon out and I still benefited from the announced discount. This time, "No back up access. You just lost $30. Sorry. Bye." Are the coupons a worthless gimmick just to get one in the store? Not happy. read more

This a wonderful Jo-Ann's. Clean, bright, well-stocked, large selection. I was on the hunt for scrapbook supplies and was impressed with their selection of Fiskar's cutting tools. Lots of them, lots of options, great selection. Nice card stock selection with several printed papers that were cute as well. Not a huge selection of stickers and letters, but you can't have everything. Seemingly good selection of fabric, yarn, thread and other "craft" supplies. I didn't get as far as talking with any of the sales people, but they were around. I love craft stores and while I always want to shop the independents, they seem to be few and far between, especially in Central Oregon. So, for a corporate craft store, this was pretty darn good. I will say that for all the Jo-Ann's I have frequented, this is my favorite. read more

Jo-Ann's is my quick-fix go-to craft store when I need some cheap yarn. I love LOVE that they always have 40%-50% off coupons on a regular basis. Their app is awesome, though they do provide their ad & coupons in the store. Their selection of fabric is pretty good. Though I do wish they had more yarn choices. For bigger knitting projects I do opt out of coming here for yarn. So I would say they are more geared toward fabric & sewing. They always have amazing deals on fabric. This past autumn I bought a couple yards of 9 different flannels for blankets I was making. The employees have always been helpful & super friendly. I've witnessed a few times while waiting in line how they handle grumpy customers & they are just wonderful & so patient! read more

The store is ok. It's not the biggest craft store nor does it have the best inventory, but, the area isn't huge, so, that's kinda expected. I walked in for one item this weekend (a 10 minute trip), did not grab a cart (as I knew I'd be in and out), walked straight to the item I needed to choose the color and, before I could even get there, I was told (by an employee halfway across the store, so, I'll let you imagine the volume level) that they were closing in 12 minutes....despite the clock next to her showing I had 23 minutes and my cell phone showing I had 18 minutes. I smiled and politely acknowledged the time. I grabbed what I needed and headed to the cutting counter where I was again (incorrectly) reminded of the time. I wasn't dawdling. I was in and out in under 10 minutes, despite an impulse buy on the way to the register and having to wait at the cutting counter, but, I was still told three times (if you count the recording played over the loud speakers with the correct time) that I needed to hurry up and leave. I get wanting to leave. Even I wanted to leave and I made sure I was quick enough and early enough not to cut it close enough to mess anyone up. I did get a good laugh when I was already in my car and had been for a couple minutes when someone else strolled through the doors (and they did grab a cart). read more

This store seems to have an oversupply of employees and an undersupply of service. It's been awhile since I've felt less welcome in a store. I was waiting to get a yard of fabric, no less than 4 women working at that department, when one looks up and tells me I need to take a number. A number? This isn't the DMV. I want a stinking yard of overpriced fabric. So I decide on a precut remnant and ask another employee where I can find the zippers. Instead of walking me over she sends me on a verbal goose chase. Found them. Then I asked yet another employee where I can find pipe cleaners. Again, so very busy doing absolutely nothing and points in a general area exclaiming she wasn't even sure they had any in stock. The kicker was checking out. I load my crap onto the counter and yet another 'do nothing' employee rings me up and stares at me like "On your way, can't you see I need a break" and I just stood there, waiting...FOR A BAG! I said, "Can I get a bag?" To which she replied, "Oh, we don't offer unless someone asks...and we only have paper." Dear JoAnn, WTF? read more

Although I generally enjoy shopping at joann fabrics, my experience yesterday was not so pleasant. 3 of us went in to purchase several skeins of yarn, using a coupon that clearly stated per transaction. The women who was called up front to run the second cash register, was rude and was telling other customers we were abusing the coupon, and basically bashing us to other customers. I bought an item that wad $4.99. Noticed later that the receipt said I was charged $5.49. Not a huge deal, but I emailed their customer service with a photo of the item and price and the receipt, asking why I was charged a different amount. The reply I got from Angel said "The slight increase appears to be due to sales tax." I replied no, because I am from Oregon, which was clearly visible on the receipt, and again asked why I was charged a different amount. Got a generic apology and a $5 gift card, but still no answer as to why it happened. So I asked AGAIN. No reply at all this time. Effing shady. If you shop here, check your receipt carefully, who knows how often this unexplainable over charging is happening. Terrible customer service, too. read more
