They fixed it on the spot, explained to me how to avoid the problem in the future, and didn't change me anything for the repair. (And unlike some places in Bismarck, I didn't get any side eye for being a guy who sews.) They also have a good selection of vacuum cleaners for sale in the store. Their prices are good and, unlike the big box stores, theirs come with a warranty and they'll fix them for you if needed. They have a little parking lot. Their entrance is from the parking lot, not the main side of the street that their address is on. It's actually a little hard to see where they are until you drive past it, because of how the sign is angled -- I'll post a pic to clarify. I'd definitely recommend this place for your vacuum and sewing needs in western North Dakota.

I always bring my vintage sewing machines to be serviced at J&R. Chase is my go to technician. He is amazing at what he does! If the issue with your sewing machines is fixable, he will make it happen! He has an amazing amount of knowledge and he has so much passion for what he does, I appreciate that in a technician, thats when you know your machines are in good hands! The aisles are always clean and organized; there is always wonderful deals! Unlike Hobby Lobby, you can sign up and get reward points and coupons, which is fabulous for someone who shops here regularly. They don't have a fabric section, but that's okay by me, because they have a large selection of holiday decor! I have yet to try out any of there classes that they offer, but I will someday soon! This is such a kid friendly place, they offer kid craft classes, how genius!

The mother loaded 10+ toys onto the counter, the cashier by the name Samantha refused to check her items out and completely ignored the customer. She than told her to go to a different cashier. I could not see the name tag of the other employee that helped the customer but good job to her for handling the situation better than the cashier. She put all of the items back into the mother's cart and directed her to a different cashier. I was disappointed with the treatment the customer received from the cashier named Samantha. Let's be professional guys! The lack of training is not a good look As a mother, I felt bad for the boy anxiously waiting to take his toys home, personal problems should be left at home.
