We signed up for the bi-weekly maintenance service in September 2021 and canceled our service after one year (and would have done so sooner had the original agreement not been for a year). There was some challenge with the initial consultation and Joc needed the help of his assistant to write out the service contract. When service started the crew came twice a month but not on consistent days of the week or times of day, and the quality of work was also inconsistent. Most times there were uncut/missed patches in the grass, the grass was only trimmed slightly so within a few days it looked right back to how it was, and they also do not trim trees or shrubs that are above average shoulder height (so our small Japanese maple trees haven't been shaped the whole time.) It was nice though that the crew would blow off our large deck biweekly to remove the pine needles, branches and such from the surrounding trees. We mailed our cancellation letter in the beginning of September and got the return invoice over a month later, which had misinformation on it (saying we owe for 18 months, not just 12 at an altered rate.) A payment schedule was also not specified last year, so it seems that this business expects their customers to pay in large lump sums all at once (which may not work well for some.) read more

Zero stars. Joc left his business card on my door. We needed some weeding and trimming done. Very communicative at first. Received an estimate and agreed to the job. We scheduled for a busy weekend and had to rearrange a few of our previously planned arrangements to be home for the landscaping services. He gave an hour range for them to arrive. When they didn't show I called 3x and texted over 5 messages just wanting a reply back. Even if they weren't going to show. Just communicate. Thanks for making us go through the efforts of rearranging our schedules to accommodate your no show. **Please don't waste your time with this company.** read more

I hardly ever write reviews but the crew at Joc handled my large project in one day for a very reasonable price. The work is beautiful and they cleaned up well afterwards. They are a great team and I will be hiring them again. This hill is steep and was super overgrown with no mulch They also built the new retaining wall to each side of the bench area. I needed a retaining wall system for the slope that is behind my house. The slope was, and has been falling away from the house. I called Joc's Landscaping and I asked the owner if he would come to my house to determine if: 1). they could build a retaining wall system, and: 2). how much it was going to cost me. He gave me a good price, and I asked him if they guaranty their work. Joc told he would personally guarantee the slope. I hired him & had the walls built. Joc never mentioned a building permit, and never got one. The City of Mukilteo, WA came by the house and informed me that the work should have been on a permit, and that Joc Landscaping knew about the permitting process, and that they should have gone to the City of Mukilteo, WA and applied for the permit, because it is required to do so as a contractor. They also informed me that the walls were built on a "protected slope", and the walls were all over the three foot height limit. They stated the walls must come down. Two days later, I went to the City of Mukilteo, WA to find out if there was any way I could keep the walls. They had me hire a Geotech, and a Landscape designer. After a review by the City of Mukilteo, the Geotech, and the Landscape Design company, my wife and I were asked to come back. The City of Mukilteo told us at that point, that the wall system needed to come out because the walls were not built to code, and would not even hold up through the rainy season. I called Joc and told him to come over to my house. I told him that I wanted my $23,000.00 back, and that he needed to bring the bricks and dirt back off the slope. He said he had guaranteed the walls, so he would make good on it. He left and said he would get back to me the next day after he talked to his crew. Then six days, and multiple unanswered phone calls later, he called me up and said the walls were good when he built them, and that he was not going to do any of the work to dismantle them, and that the problem was all mine. I have since gone to L&I, the City of Mukilteo, my Attorney, and his bonding company. All have told me to acquire a "Contractor Complaint Form", get a Judgement against Joc, his company, his personal bank accounts, and all of his equipment and personal vehicles. I am currently working on these items, and fully intend to make sure he never does this to any other unsuspecting senior citizen, or individual again. read more

I would not use these folks!! Very unprofessional. They were observed take down another competitors advertising off garages for aerating and thatching, crumbling it up and then leaving their business card on the door/porch to take away business. Shame on you Joc's. read more
