I had just retired from teaching Dance and closed my studio in Florida. I had just moved back to Hawaii, and I was reaching out to the Dance community to connect and make friends. I had had just started taking some dance styles that had always wanted to learn Kizomba, and Samba but was too busy to learn. "Dances of love" was an event and they were using this beautiful DanceStudio, I remember loving the aesthetics of the studio and the warm friendly feeling. In 12 years later, I'm bringing my daughter down here for some dance classes. I did not realize how large the studio was, And I'm so happy that the studio lasted all these years. Still and Moving Center, offers a array of dance classes, from BellyDance, salsa, tango, Ballet, yoga, stretch, massage, therapy, aerial, classes, tai chi, hula, and the list goes on. They have classes for adult and children and offer in person and online classes. Right now, they're running a two week special, for $50 plus dollars you can take unlimited classes for t two weeks. I sat in on my daughter's classes, everyone was super welcoming. I love the two Bellydance teachers. There was so much love for their teacher and for each other. It made me want to join in and get some of that love. And it made me want to start taking some classes as well. This was my first ever barre class I've taken, and wow - what a workout. I'm three months postpartum, and the classes offered provide the perfect workout and challenge for me, as modifications are also provided. The studio is clean and inviting. Not only did the workout catch my eye after several classes, but the owner Melissa is extremely welcoming and knowledgeable to barre. I appreciate how all the instructors at Sweat + Soul are friendly and encouraging. The instructors help guide you throughout class and make friendly corrections to optimize your positions so you can get the best workout possible. Highly recommended this studio to everyone!

It is a total body workout which includes brief stretching before transitioning to the next muscle group. I love how Sweat+Soul barre really targets the smaller muscles to help me feel strong and toned. I can attest that the workouts WILL stay challenging, even after working out here several times per week for years. Instead of getting "easier" with time, your form will slowly improve (which I think also helps to improve your posture!). If it's starting to feel easy, you're not properly engaging your muscles :) The teachers and the owner are all so friendly and know how to kick your ass in the best way. I also love how CLEAN it feels in the studio. Pretty much all other fitness studios I've tried out feel noticeably grosser compared to here. (I can understand that it's also probably due to the nature of the workout for other studios though.) The studio recently moved to Ward Village Center (Genki sushi, Kids City, etc.), on the side of the structure where Roger Dunn Golf is located. This new location doesn't have a water refill station yet, so be sure to fill up your flask before heading here.

With guided support and a structured approach, it becomes much easier to maintain consistent movement without feeling overwhelmed. As we age, range of motion is not just about flexibility--it directly affects balance, daily function, and independence. Right away, I felt super comfortable with my flexologist and walked away refreshed. They were also promoting a 50-minute introductory one-on-one stretch for a discounted price of $59 at their studio. I figured, why not? Parking is located at Ward and it's about a 5 minute walk to the studio. The location itself is spacious, nice, and clean. The stretching area is open, so you'll be around others while having your session. You'll also need grip socks during your session. If you don't have any, they sell them there. For the intro session, the socks are included, which is a nice touch. They start by asking about any problem areas, injuries, or places you would like extra attention. For the introductory one-on-one session, they run an assessment scan to check your mobility, posture, activation, and symmetry, which helps them customize your session. For my appointment, I had Joshua as my flexologist and he was amazing. Very friendly, professional, super attentive, and easy to talk to. It honestly felt like I known him for years. He made the whole experience very comfortable and enjoyable. The only downside for me is the price. Memberships start at $219 per month for 4 25-minute one-on-one sessions with a 3-month commitment. Non-member pricing is $65 for a 25-minute one-on-one session or $125 for a 50-minute one-on-one session. They also offer non-membership packages starting at $179 for 3 25-minute sessions and you'll need to use it within a certain period. While it is still a little out of my price range, I can definitely see the value. I really did enjoy my experience at StretchLab and left feeling great. If your budget allows, I highly recommend giving it a try. And if you can, book with Joshua! He made the experience awesome!

Great gym and group fitness culture, they will push you in a good way that doesn't intimidate you. Really nice equipment as well and I'm grateful they have everyone wipe everything down in between sets, very clean! If it's your first experience in a group fitness class, do not be afraid to ask questions and get to understand the machines! Music is fun but sometimes tricky to hear the coaches well enough to understand exactly what to do especially if it's your first time. BUT if that's the case, just smile and work hard -- even if it's not exactly what they say to do you'll still get a great workout in :) TIPS & TRICKS: * They do offer cheaper validated parking but if you're willing to get a walking warm up in before your class, just park at the Kakaako Waterfront Park! * Tons of awesome spots around SALT too, so get some post workout snacks after. * Ask about different membership opportunities, they have a lot of options might fit your lifestyle better (monthly passes, special week passes, or punch passes) * Last but not least, HAVE FUN AND GET YOUR SWEAT ON!

I've been going here for many years and never complained about anything. I like the new equipment…read morethey added, but we still need another leg curl machine. Usually I see it occupied by someone looking at their phone. My main gripe and what made me come and leave a mediocre review is the showers. 2 of 4 have been down for at least a month and one of the "working" showers is missing a shower head. It seems like things don't get fixed very fast. One month is too long. An ab crunch machine was recently fixed after about a month of being inactive. A cable machine had splayed cables and they put electrical tape on it. It lasted a few days and now that's been down for a week so far. Many times I see paper towel dispensers and spray bottle holders broken or completely empty. Trash cans full. Walls dirty with hand prints. Dirty fans. Rusty walls. Moldy showers with shower rings missing and crusty shower curtains (even though they just replaced the two shower curtains). It all adds up to make me feel like they don't care about the appearance of the place anymore. The staff is fairly nice, but the one woman I saw cleaning machines frequently no longer works there. I think more attention to cleanliness and broken machines and towel dispensers would really make the place level up. Getting rid of unused machines like the big fan bike and angled ab benches, then replacing those with another leg curl machine and maybe a fly machine would be a nice addition too.

I originally discovered The Bar Method back in 2017. Barre is deceptively challenging, and I was quickly humbled by the workout. I remember grabbing heavy hand weights when I first walked into the barre studio, since I was accustomed to throwing around a lot of weight in CrossFit...and then wasn't even able to make it through warm up! Since that day, I religiously attended barre four times per week, and it became my sanity amidst the chaos of being a business owner, mom, boss, wife, etc. When I found out I was pregnant with my second child, the instructors were supportive, initially maintaining confidence while privately demonstrating modifications. I was blessed with an easy pregnancy, and I attribute a large part of that to barre keeping me disciplined and strong. I continued taking classes throughout my entire pregnancy until my daughter decided to make a quick entrance into the world...and I gave birth in the car on our way to the hospital! I again think the mental toughness that comes from getting through your third set of thigh work helped me through that amazing delivery. I'd highly encourage everyone to check out The Bar Method! It's a safe yet tough workout that really does help you stay healthy - both physically and mentally.
