I…read morewent to go see Dr. Temlock at Nashville Periodontal Group in his Nashville, TN office (they have a Brentwood, TN location too) after I went to another local periodontist that my general dentist referred me to. The experience with the other Periodontist felt rushed, uninspiring, and it felt like they just wanted my money and required a deposit to schedule my surgery after 15 minutes with the staff and maybe 5 minutes with the doctor. So, I wanted a second opinion, and I am so happy I did! First, I want to talk about Dr. Temlock. He spent an entire hour with me at my initial consultation, and he really took the time to explain everything to me in terms that I could understand. I've never seen a doctor or dentist spend that much time with me! His chair-side manner was a 10/10, and I felt totally educated about my periodontal issue. He was there to answer all my questions, and he helped guide me through the anticipated surgery so I could make the right decision for MYSELF! He was so kind, patient, and genuine. This was almost the exact opposite of what occurred at the first periodontist's office. Second, his staff was super nice, and they helped me out every step of the way regarding the logistics. They need to be mentioned here too because they were so awesome too! I was very anxious about my surgery, but Dr. Temlock's knowledge, skills, confidence, and experience really put me at ease. I chose to be sedated for my procedure (and this was the best money I ever spent throughout the whole situation!), and I do not remember anything! I needed a really bad/cracked tooth removed, a sinus lift, and bone graft so I could get a dental implant. Sounds scary, right!?! Not with Dr. Temlock and Nashville Periodontal Group's staff! Everything went just as he explained it at the consult. He even called me the next day to ask how I was doing and answer my questions. I've couldn't believe the doctor actually called me instead of the nurse! Dr. Temlock really does care about his patients, and he even gave me his phone number in case I had any more questions over the weekend. Lastly, I returned to the office for my follow-up appointment about 3 weeks after the surgery, and Dr. Temlock saw me, took time to personally evaluate the surgical area, and answered all my questions again. I thought I was only going to see the assistant/nurse from Nashville Periodontal Group that day, but Dr. Temlock was the one who entered the room. I couldn't believe it! Dr. Temlock reassured me that I was healing great and right on schedule, and Dr. Temlock explained that everything was on course which helped calm down my anxiety too. Overall, I cannot thank Dr. Temlock and the staff at Nashville Periodontal Group enough! Everyone is so professional and understanding. From the first time I met Dr. Temlock through the last goodbye, I cannot thank him enough. Now that everything major is complete, I am going to get my teeth cleaned with Dr. Temlock's hygienists and alternate between my dentist's office and Nashville Periodontal Group. The whole team at Nashville Periodontal Group are going to make sure they keep a close eye on all my teeth and gums into the future, so I know I am in good hands as Dr. Temlock and all the staff at Nashville Periodontal Group will continue to monitor the rest of my teeth and gums to hopefully minimize and prevent any serious issues in the future. However, my personal experience with the dental hygienist at my very first visit is that she was extremely aggressive. I honestly felt like I was a toilet bowl she was scrubbing the inside of when it came to the tooth polishing process - it was literally comical! I had toothpaste and water all over my face. This is not normal folks! Not to mention how painful the actual cleaning was. She did not use a manual scraping tool but rather an electronic water pick type tool which she was so aggressive with. After I came home my entire mouth was hurting for hours. I brush twice a day and floss every night. I have had nothing but excellent cleanings. But this lady said I had deep pockets that needed to be cleaned. In the past when I have had to have deep cleaning they would anesthetize you...this was not done. She just dug right on in there with her electric cattle prod instrument! So needless to say I will NOT be going back.

Additionally, Dr. Watson's office doesn't honor requests to see the same hygenist for a cleaning. I rescheduled twice because I wanted to see a specific hygenist, showed up to the appointment, and you guessed it, they didn't have me with the requested hygenist. Not a big deal, but when they went on to say they never would have scheduled this date and time with the hygenist I requested, I decided my time with them was over. Please do not blame long-time patients for your office's mistake. No one apologized. Now they've apparently "lost" my previous x-rays for the new doctor to compare an issue to. Wow. my entire dental history is in one office and there are no images? Unfortunate. On the upside, my new dentist and his office are wonderful.

I go in and get a cleaning and the first thing they tell me is I need to get veneers for $1,000 a tooth! I have never once in my life since going to a dentist ever been recommended to get veneers ever! Then after about a year I get told I have a 2 potential cavities (I haven't had a cavity since I was 15). I wait another 6 months go back in for my cleaning and get told I don't have any cavities however, they look back at the reports from 6 months ago and the notes say I have a cavity so I have a cavity that needs to get filled??? I'm also informed that I have been grinding my teeth and that my only options are a $550 mouth guard or to get veneers for $1,000 a tooth. Of course I opt in to get the mouth guard, while it's being made I go to two other dentist in the area to get a consultation, not only are they shocked that I was recommended veneers but they are shocked by the $500 overpriced mouth guard. They offered me a $100 mouth guard from the same company, isn't that crazy? If you are rich and have unlimited money this dentist would love you, I unfortunately do not. I have really good insurance for a reason but insurance doesn't cover the things they recommend. If you are looking for a family friendly dentist that is not trying to upsell you and get you to pull your card out stay VERY clear from here!

She is always reasonable, professional and a beautiful human being. she cares about people. What more could you ask for
