if I could give less than a one I would. I had an extremely disappointing experience with Joe Hudson's Collision Center located on ATI Road in Hoover. Progressive Insurance directed me to this shop--over 30 miles from my home--after my vehicle was hit from behind. From the very beginning, the customer service was unacceptable. The shop called me unexpectedly and told me I needed to bring my car in by 8:00 a.m. to schedule the repair. I explained that was impossible because I live more than 30 miles away and work full-time. I asked to coordinate another time that would also allow me to pick up a rental car. The representative told me the shop closed at 5:00 p.m., so we arranged for me to drop off the car the following afternoon. However, the next morning at 10:30 a.m., I received a call from Joe Hudson's stating that I had missed my 8:00 a.m. appointment--an appointment I never made. I reiterated that I was scheduled for that afternoon. Despite this, I left work early and drove an hour to their shop. When I arrived, the front desk representative didn't greet me or acknowledge me--she simply looked up and said, "Oh, you're the missed appointment from this morning," with clear attitude. She then answered a phone call mid-conversation without so much as an "excuse me." After her call, she handed me an iPad, gave very little explanation about what I was signing, checked off several boxes herself, and directed me where to sign. I should have left at that point, but since I had already taken off work and driven so far, I decided to proceed. Next, another employee came out to inspect my truck. She asked about my deductible, and I explained that the other driver's insurance was covering the repair. She looked at my vehicle and said she "didn't really see much that needed fixing." She then pulled off a plastic cover, attempted to snap it back in, and said they would probably have it fixed by Thursday, adding that since I was "late," they'd have to order the part the next day. Today is Friday, and I've received several text updates from Joe Hudson's stating my pickup date is 11/12. Meanwhile, the rental car company has called me twice saying the rental is due back. The representative from Progressive handling my claim has also been unhelpful--this entire process has been incredibly frustrating. Then, on Friday, Joe Hudson's called to say my car was ready for pickup. When I explained I work until 5:00 p.m., they told me they close at 5:00 and could "just leave the keys outside." When I asked if they had a lockbox or keypad, the employee seemed confused and said, "No, we usually just hide the keys somewhere outside." I was shocked--they actually suggested hiding my keys, including my hot pink key fob, somewhere around the vehicle. At that point, I had my parents and then my husband attempt to pick up the car because I was genuinely uncomfortable leaving my keys unsecured like that. That interstate was shut down making it impossible so I had to send my husband to retrieve my key. I have now gotten two additional emails from Joe Hudson one stating I picked up my car and secondly on my experience. Overall, this has been one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. The lack of professionalism, poor communication, and disregard for customers' time and security are completely unacceptable. This is the third time I've used Joe Hudson over the past 20 years. I had an incident this time where someone swiped my new car and I reached out to the dealer to get their thoughts on Joe Hudson since it had been a while since I had used them. They recommended them and so I used their new Hoover location. Let's start with the professionalism and customer service the staff offers. It is TOP NOTCH! They are respectful, kind, knowledgeable, thorough and honest. Politeness was always the standard and they were always helpful. As for the work itself - SUPERB! They did a wonderful, wonderful job getting the car back to looking like new. They covered all of the damage and did just what they said AND - they had my car read about a week before they said it would be, which is great! They communicated often via text throughout the process which was nice. And when I picked it up, it was washed and detailed inside. It honestly felt like I was driving a new car off of the lot again. From the time our insurance agent sent our claim to the shop until the repair was completed was twenty-two months. Almost two years to replace a bent fender and a couple of small parts. We were told the part got lost in shipment, then the paperwork was lost. Once they finally acquired the parts, the work looks great and the people were nice but I can't recommend a shop that takes so long to complete such a simple job. read more

So it's story time...... I was involved in an accident April 2, 2024. My car was not drivable and towed to Joe Hudson for repairs. I finally pick my car up after the receptionist calling to tell me my car was finished last week, but she called back to say she got it confused with another vehicle and it's not ready. Today, April 30th pick the car up and the AC no longer works. Mind you the air was on during the time of the accident and I have an inspection report from where the car was recently serviced saying everything was in good condition. They are basically trying to tell me that there is no way the AC could have gone out due to the accident because the impact was not enough. Mind you I am currently in therapy due to a contusion to my left shoulder and my knee cap slips due to the accident. I thought me and my kid were going to be seriously injured because the impact was so hard. I told these people I am not taking the car to a dealership and paying for any diagnostics when they failed to do their due diligence. I don't give a damn if they want to charge storage fees but my car is not in the condition it was in prior to the accident and there were fluids leaking at the site of the accident. Now they say I am no longer welcomed there because I am demanding them to repair my car to the status it was in before the accident of which I was not at fault for. I should not have to pay any money for anything when they did not make sure everything was in working order before telling me my car was ready. The windshield had damage and the bumper had damage prior to the accident if I was going to make up something I would have asked for everything to be repaired. They had to replace a rim, a tire and they had to fix suspension issues from the impact but it's not possible for something else to be wrong. I think you have me confused with someone else. I did have orders from Allstate to go to your company for repairs. I arrived at 8:30am and door was locked even though you were supposed to open at 8am. I had been on phone with Allstate and working through my claim on the website. I was just supposed to "drop it off" so you could do repairs. It looks like your token answer is to blame it on the insurance company. I have never spoken to owner or to you. I only spoke with a receptionist that was training someone else. I think she was in over her head because she did not seem to understand what I was trying to tell her. Not sure how you are so certain this was insurance companies fault when you have not tried to reach out to me at all. Allstate had approved the repairs, given me confirmation to bring car to you because you are a preferred company. Look I am glad that you have so much business you don't have to do my car but please don't blame the situation on me or my insurance company. We got into an auto accident in March. Geico recommend this place so we took our car here. (If you're with geico and get Ryan something, can't remember his last name, as your adjuster I would request someone else. He won't answer his phone) Everyone was really nice but the car wasn't repaired right. They did it in a rush which I appreciate as my husband is active duty military we had to leave for Texas a week after the wreck. But the whole trunk needs to be fixed again and there's was glass all in our backseat floor my daughter got some in her foot the other night. We're switching insurance companies (as soon as they fix our car again) and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They also somehow got my review deleted.. figured. NO MATTER WHAT YOUR INSURANCE TELLS YOU; DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY... THEY TOLD ME I WAS A LIAR, was charged for several items that were not even touched, missing bolts and fasteners, bumper was still hanging off and still had about 10 scratches on the car but still charged for the repair they didn't do. The paint job looks like my7 year old did it. Overall, -0. I honestly cannot express what horrible work they did.?oh, also said new bumper and fasteners butvmissing half the fasteners and Bolts, didn't paint it or buff out scratches: literally still tire mars underneath the bumper but charged me for new bumper and to paint it!!! After my service I got a survey from the insurance on insurance fraud and I wonder they was sent to me when I've had repairs done before and never received a survey in the past... They cut corners when working on your vehicle to get it over with. It's an appealing atmosphere and lobby area, the staff have smiling faces, but the behind the scenes service is not adequate. read more

Joe Hudson's Collision was really great! They did a fantastic job replacing and painting the rear bumper on my Subaru Forester. They worked hard to get it all done by today after I told them my work schedule would not allow me to pick it up tomorrow. Most places would not have done that. After damaging our BRAND NEW vehicle with over spray and paint splatter we sent it back via a tow truck (at the body shops expense plus a rental car) to your Staunton Virginia shop for a 2nd chance to get it right. When it was returned from the shop we inspected it and found nothing was done on it's second trip back. There is still over spray on the interior and exterior of the vehicle. Mathew, the contact person that arranged for the towing and rental, told us he'd call us upon receiving the car. There was no call and nothing at all done to the vehicle after shipping it back. So now we are headed to the court phase of this issue. There is plenty of over spray on the car to show a judge. So now you'll be paying for another competent body shop to repair your issues, plus of course the cost of court and my attorney fees. You know if I owned this body shop Mathew would be looking for another job by night fall. In fact, if you want a third chance to fix our car properly, fire Mathew and take our car to another of your body shops and fix it RIGHT. Otherwise your $600 repair is about to get really expensive..... If you check, the cost of towing and rental fees alone ate all of that $600 and then some. Now lets see what the court system thinks of your companies repairs................ read more

Although someone came out to correct the mistakes I did advise I would update my review if I was satisfied. I am still missing pieces of my car. I originally thought the 4 pieces that were taken off and one broken and not put back on were all there were, I am completely missing 2 other pieces. I do not appreciate you advising I have conveyed my satisfaction. I do have the conversation in writing. For that I cannot trust this business and do not advise using them. I had my vehicle repaired here. The repairs themselves look to be done well but when I took delivery of my car, I noticed the gear shift knob was broken. I explained it to the front desk and a service mgr came out to look at it. He fiddled with it and basically said he disnt know how they could have broken it. The knob was sideways and spinning in circles. I told him it was correct and tight like it was supposed to be when i dropped it off for repairs and now it wasnt. i explained someone in his shop drove it and broke it, pretty simple. He continued to deny the damage so i left and called my insurance company to deal with it. I felt like he didnt care and I was wasting his time. I wont be back there again. His attitude is why im scoring them low. read more
