On the event day, the catering team arrived well in advance, set up everything beautifully, and was ready for our starting time right on the dot! Their pictures show a nice spread and this was all I got. I paid $33 per head. The charcuterie board was $420. The Hummus plater was $195 and the dessert tray $165. I did order 50 assorted soft drinks and water which were $2 each. That seems reasonable. They should be ashamed of themselves. If anyone thinks I'm wrong please let me know. My first experience was with the order - this is actually my 2nd time ordering, the last time was for some breakfast burritos. Both times I had problems ordering on the website and had to call. When I initially did my research, they came in similar priced if not a bit lower than the other company we regularly use. After placing my order, I noticed they charge a 20% "production fee" in addition to tax, gratuity, and then an additional 3.5% to pay by card, so it ended up being $100 more. Also, I figured for ordering a hot breakfast for 30 people they would put it in disposable chaffers to keep hot, but they didn't. A nitpicky complaint is the chopstick serving tools for the fruit didn't work well at all either. Overall, we weren't very happy.

I wrote to LDC and asked if they could make an all-butter, vanilla cake for me, seeing that the people I'd be celebrating with have allergies and butter is the safest oil. They assured me that it would be no problem. I went to pick up the cake, and was surprised that the process was disorganized. Okay, well, I'll just take my cake. After a long wait, I got said cake. I was so excited when I got it home--it was beautiful! They took great care in decorating it. We cut it, and then began the disappointment. The cake tasted burnt, though it only was a deep brown. It was overdone, for sure. If I'd baked it, I would have trimmed off the top, bottom, and sides. The buttercream was decent, but the burnt flavor overwhelmed everything else.
