Great coffee shop in downtown Effingham. We met there a lot for a book club. They were very willing to let us use their spacious back room and even reserve it ahead of time. Best part? No charge. Their peach smoothie is great even though it isn't fresh, and the carrot cake is incredible! read more

We stopped in for dinner, but found a coffee house with one sandwich listed on their blackboard. We didn't see any menus or any other offerings, so we ordered the Pastrami sandwiches. They were very good, but we didn't care for the bag of sweet potato chips that came with it - they were chewy - not crispy. We ordered a piece of cheesecake to split between us. We couldn't even cut through the crust, and the cheesecake itself was dry and crumbly. We thought $25 was a little expensive for 2 sandwiches and one dessert. The music was loud and annoying for these two old fogeys. There were 3 guys working there, but we were the only ones in the place. And they weren't spending their free time cleaning! read more

They serve Kaldi's coffee. This is a very typical coffee shop with custom drink ordering, a casual, friendly atmosphere, & very cozy. I recommend Joe Sippers as the only option worth visiting for a good cup of coffee if you don't want Starbucks, which is on the other side of town. read more

My fiancé and I stopped here on our way through town and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the service. There isn't much going on in the immediate area, but Joe Sippers has a great local, artsy vibe that's worth the trip. We both got the veggie wrap, which was simple but tasty. And, as other reviewers have noted, the hummus is phenomenal. I do wish they'd had a bit more variety of cold drinks and a dark roast coffee, but overall we were very happy. read more

Well, this was a nice surprise. This place, just off Effingham's town square, is a funky little cafe with plenty of tables. I came in for a late dinner at the beginning of the month and had a great cup of soup, a sandwich, and a very tasty latte. As someone who often is in Effingham for a period of less than 24 hours, I plan on coming back to Joe Sipper's for a quick meal that won't break the bank. read more

Be prepared to wait! The food is still of high quality, and the atmosphere is very nice, but the service has gone down hill. The last two times I have been here I have waited 25 minutes for my meal. The teenagers working during lunch rush are busy chatting with each other rather than preparing orders. Joe Sippers is a ver popular lunch destination, but with limited lunch hour time there is no way people are going to be able to wait so long. read more

Always excellent coffee, very laid back, nice lounge in the back that's away from all the commotion, as well as a main lounge in the front. Would definitely say try the Santa Fe wrap. It's never a long wait for food or drinks either. May be a little more expensive than regular coffee joints, but I do believe we are paying for quality. I live here in Effingham, and this has been a go-to hang out when we just want to relax, have some coffee, and some great company. read more

Nice cafe and local spot in Effingham that had a pretty good variety of food and drink offerings. I went with the pesto melt with chicken and it was a very satisfying offering for a sandwich. Next time I will be trying one of their bakery items in the case because they all look SO GOOD read more

A quaint, eclectic place to eat and drink. I love the santa fe wrap and the extreme peach smoothie is fantastic! My daughter had a pb&j and the sunbutter used on the sandwich took the pb&j to a whole new level...I just might order it for myself next time! We are usually very very happy with our Lunch from Joe Sippers however today was not the case. We placed our usual to go order of 7 orders and the food was done in a timely manner however the wrap was dry with hardly any of the good stuff, some of the lettuce in the wrap was limp, brown and almost to the point of being slimy. We will be taking a break on ordering from here. :( So disappointing to anticipate something wonderful and have that product not deliver especially when it could have been avoided had the person making the wrap would have just cared about the people on the receiving end. read more

We've been stopping at Joe Sippers for several years as we travel between KS & OH. Nothing better than a good independent coffee place as we'd do without before going to Starbucks. Joe Sippers roasts their own coffee so always fresh and good. Bummed they aren't open Sunday's as that's often when we have to travel through Effingham, but also glad they take time to be with their families. read more
