They were prompt, showed up when they said they were going to, and very quickly determined the solution, which, unsurprisingly, was to replace the water heater. They arranged to come back the next day and install a tankless water heater. We had been anticipating this cost, as our previous water heater was near the end of it's warranty, and were very familiar with the typical pricing for installation for a tankless water heater, which is not cheap. The price that they quoted us was within a normal range - a bit higher than we had been quoted by other folks, but considering that it was an emergency situation and they worked extremely quickly to do a big job and replace our water heater to an upgraded version by 2pm the next day, it was worth it. Everyone we spoke to was extremely professional, patient, and helpful. Adam was awesome and Adriana helped us out a ton, including arranging a follow-up visit to follow up on something. They also were very fair about service charges. We would definitely recommend them and use them again.

They balked at the fact that I live in a condo within a 3-unit HOA that I would need to coordinate with, and argued with me about the process of gaining their approval (while the numerous contractors we jointly hired for our renos were walking around.) This is 99% of plumbing jobs in Somerville. If it's that much of a problem, don't bother coming in the first place to charge me $77. Second, the estimate price: astronomical. Twice as much as the most expensive quotes I have gotten for this job. Five figures. If you are a very rich owner of a single-family home, Vaughan might be an option - the ratings here say they are talented plumbers. Otherwise, save yourself the money, hassle, and headache.

I got the AI phone answer service "Dane", who is meant to sound real (with computer keyboard clicking and background voice noise) but is clearly not. AI Dane said that someone would call me back. Nothing. The weekend went by, Monday, Tuesday then Wednesday--a full week--went by. AI Dane was happy to take a message and have someone return my call. Only when I told AI Dane to cancel the project did I get a text--not a call--from someone named Chris (was he AI? who knows) saying that he thinks it will be "around $850." After all that waiting I would rather go through someone else. They may do good work--I can't speak to that--but their communication needs a lot of improvement. Update: Chris apparently is real, at least he said so in a text, and said that there were some issues that came up on their side and that they were sorry. Honestly, if a message had just been communicated to me that there were some issues and that that they would be able to get to it the following week, I would have been fine! I am not a jerk. But I do need businesses that make the effort to communicate clearly, which did not happen.
