Our drivers always picked us up in a timely manner at an easily accessible location. They took us to little-known locations as well as the popular tourist attractions we requested. They even found secret ways to bypass crowds using their experience and local connections. Importantly, they planned strategic bathroom breaks and snack stops to liven long drives (you'd be surprised how many tour guides don't think about timely bathroom breaks). All of our guides were so personable and knowledgeable, and they knew when to impart information and when to let us rest. It's an instinct many guides do not have. Any time we revisit Ireland, we will insist on employing Elegant Irish Tours for our adventures because the experience was absolutely wonderful.

Promised 33-Passenger Bus for Private Tour, Delivered Two Small Buses Instead…read more We booked a private tour with Elegant Irish Tours for a family reunion in June 2026, and unfortunately the experience left us frustrated and let down. We'd originally booked with Butler Tours and paid a deposit but had to cancel (and eat a penalty) when they couldn't provide a single bus for our group of 28. Elegant Irish Tours stepped in and assured us they could accommodate our group with a bus capable of accommodating 33 passengers, plus coolers for refreshments. We were relieved and excited -- this was a family reunion, and being together as one group mattered a lot to us. On the actual day, two smaller buses showed up instead of the one we were promised. This split our group and was a real disappointment for an event centered on togetherness. We called the office right away and got no support or concern in return. With no alternative offered, we had no choice but to continue with our day as best we could. The bigger issue came after we returned home. I called twice and got nowhere, and I emailed Wendy, the supervisor, directly -- I never received so much as a reply. During the sales process, it was all yes, yes, yes. Once something actually went wrong, there was silence. If you're considering this company, be aware that the follow-through doesn't match the sales pitch.

However their splendid array of holiday brochures kept me from walking out and also bagged them more business as my Mum booked a holiday from a brochure I brought home :-)

My flight arrived early and I managed to catch an earlier bus which was a lifesaver as it was cold and I wanted to get to Galway to see the Xmas Market. The driver was very helpful with my baggage and advising about the walk to the hotel in Galway once we arrived. Everyone on the bus was friendly and it soon filled up with shoppers in the Dublin town centre stop. I didn't use the toilet but there is one and other passengers used it. The return trip was just as good, friendly driver again, and the bus was quite empty so plenty of room to spread out. I would definitely recommend the GoBus service, it is competitively priced, easy to get to in both Dublin Airport and in Galway, easy to book and pay for online and as a solo female traveller it felt extremely safe and friendly.

This is obviously due to the demand of Irish fans traveling to the playoff game against Bosnia. If I had been informed earlier that my booking had not been processed by the airline carrier then I could have obtained a much better price that is currently available. Now, I'm left high and dry. Budgetairways tell me that I won't have the money that they have taken back in my account for several days so I can't afford to book any flights, let alone much more expensive ones. I can't understand how it took them until close of business to determine that my booking had not gone through. Either they have a terrible system or someone didnt want to make the call to me. Neither is of great consolation to me at the moment. I would like to know what Budgetairways is going to do to rectify this situation as I am raging.

I'm writing this review from the perspective of a Canadian in Ireland on a working holiday visa…read more When I decided to come to move to Dublin on a working holiday visa I had the option of doing it myself (cheaper, but no support) or doing it through SWAP (a travel agency in Canada that partners with USIT here in Ireland). I chose the second route for the support, since I'd never done a working holiday visa/moved abroad. And while there isn't a language barrier between Canada and Ireland (there's Gaelic, but everyone in Dublin seems to speak English) and Ireland is a western country there are hurdles to moving abroad. And paperwork, so much paperwork. USIT is the local support team for the working abroad people (not just Canadians, but for anyone on a working holiday visa). They have an orientation session where they explain how to GNIB card (if you need one), how to get a PPS number, how to get your tax certificate, how to open a bank account and how to file taxes. They have job and apartment listings. There are computers, free wifi, and a printer, which is perfect for printing out the many many CVs you'll need. They can go over your CV and make sure it's formatted right, which was helpful because how CVs are formatted here are a bit different from how resumes are formatted where I'm from. They have interview rooms if you need someplace to do a Skype interview (instead of say doing on at the hostel you might be at). The organize different events for work abroad participants, which is a great way to meet people. Best of all there is someone, in person, during the office hours to talk to. And sure you could look online for the answers, but sometimes it's best to talk to someone in person. Sometimes you might be faced with a situation or a question that you can't find the answer to. As someone new to Dublin it's really nice having that support system and the people working at USIT have been fantastic. I can't speak for the travel agency part of USIT, which I'm sure is what most locals would use them for, but the work abroad support team here is great.

They have tons of pamphlets on activities, tours, events and places to eat. If needed they will give one on one attention to assist you in booking tickets for transportation, theater and hotel stays. Maps and books are available for sale and you can also exchange money here. I was told that they can assist in four languages. (English, Italian, Spanish and French) For me the building housing the tourism office was the real star. It is stunningly beautiful and sits in the center of town. The church was built somewhere around 1862 and served that purpose until 1993. The Church of Ireland sold St. Andrew's in 1994. It has three levels and is over 19,000 sq ft. The first floor is massive at almost 9,000 sq ft.

My trip to Dublin was planned like the true procrastinator that I am. I was just finishing one job and due to start a new one in a week's time. I just knew flying to Dublin would be a relatively easy break, but I had next to no clue what to do when I got there other than the tips I got from a random sampling of YouTube traveler advice videos. In my typically aimless fashion, I ended up at the Dublin Tourist Centre, housed in historic St. Andrew's Church, on Suffolk Street. Inside are a series of tour company desks and kiosks set up much like the car rental counter at an airport. They all provide competitively priced tours going to the same places throughout the island. It was here that I impulsively decided to make a booking the next day to Northern Ireland, in particular, to see the Giant's Causeway. After booking with one company, I noticed that the pick-up time was too early for me to get from my suburban hotel to the meeting spot outside the building. I noticed their competitor picked up their passengers an hour earlier. You would have guessed all hell done broke loose since the agents didn't know how to process a cancellation on their PCs. They tried to convince me that I couldn't cancel, but the ugly American came out of me and they relented. Regardless I am grateful this office exists because I wouldn't have experienced many of the 39 other things I already reviewed.
