I found another storage on SW Marine (Vancouver) that was competitive, but chose Econo because it was close to a gym I had a membership with at the time. The other providers were, at the time, not really competitive for small-ish storage. Their rates have not hugely moved up since. Since I have been there, I have no issues with them whatsoever, including forgetting to notify them of a lost Visa card I had cancelled. They eventually called me and I updated the CC #, no fuss. I'd give them 5 stars if I had really pushed their services, but I haven't so 4 seems fair for a no hassle, cost-effective solution to my storage needs.

It was a two-parter: half my belongings into storage before showing the place, and the rest after selling. The first move went well; the movers were efficient and organized and took good care of my things. They arrived at each of the three drops before I did and handled everything professionally and in a friendly way. One was an owner. The second move was frustrating and upsetting. The movers took a break without communicating to me where they were going but simply disappeared. They left grease marks on my carpet with the cart wheels, showed up at each drop 10 minutes after I did, and broke the legs of my antique desk, a family heirloom, by dragging it across carpet instead of picking it up. Worst, they packed my storage locker with no room to enter or move, and with all the furniture at the front/entrance. If I could move furniture, I would have done the move myself! When I reported my concerns, I received a fairly prompt response. After a conversation with the owner who had been present for the first move, I felt confident things would be resolved. He offered to come to my storage locker with a second mover and reorganize it; to assess the damage to the desk and either repair it himself or recommend someone and cover the cost; and to compensate me for the movers' downtime during the second move. But he has now postponed doing these things two weeks running, and when I asked for a commitment to a date and time, I did not hear back. I spent close to $1800 on a 1BD apt move and whereas I started out prepared to recommend the company, I'm now frustrated and afraid I've been left with problems of someone else's making that I am going to have to pay more to solve. I want the resolution of these issues to be made a priority for Jiffy Move, and to have a committed date and time for that resolution to happen.

When we phoned, we got a real human who was decent, knowledgeable and helpful. The cost of their largest container was 1/5 the monthly rent at the storage facility even though it held the same amount of stuff. Our container was promptly delivered. I was clean with a dark wood laminate floor. We had the option of keeping it in our yard or having it carted away to be stored in their yard in the lower mainland, where we could request it be made available on fairly short notice. We chose to keep in our yard. In either case, you use your own lock. We used it for 5 years. It kept everything clean, bug-free and rodent-free (We have a lot of rats in Steveston.) The mice had been into the storage facility we used earlier, making a bit of a mess. (Also, rodent urine and droppings, once dry can put bacteria humans can catch into the air, so best avoided.) When it came time to empty the container, a quick call to an equally pleasant Big Steel Box representative meant it was picked up when we wanted it gone. Since you pay for delivery and pick-up when you first order it, there were absolutely no added costs. An ethical company that does what it says it will. Highly recommend for moving, short term or long term storage. To me, if you don't need fast, regular access to your goods, having them store your container is a great alternative to a storage facility. Would definitely use them again.

I had arranged for my flooring guy to let them into my suite while I was at work, and had set aside all the renovation debris and rubbish for them to take, which they did, but unfortunately my flooring guy had misunderstood and removed a few items from the rubbish pile so they weren't taken. I found out after the VRR guys had already left so I called them, explained the situation, and they offered to turn around and pick up the items that had been left behind!
