This is the fourth party I've hosted over the years but first time to hear my very judgy older sisters rave about what a "great party!" it was. The only difference this time was that we hired Joe to come play Blippi with the kids for 90 minutes. ICYDK : Blippi is like this new generation's Peewee Herman. The kids are obssessed with him! Blippi acts silly and child-like ; his show focuses on pre-K material as he reviews indoor /outdoor playgrounds and museums. He wears his iconic blue and orange flap hat, orange glasses, orange and blue shoes... you get it. Joe looked and sounded EXACTLY LIKE TV Blippi. There is an alternate Blippi on tv (we call him Flippi - fake Blippi), and Joe looks/sounds even more like Blippi than Flippi does. He never broke character, not even once! I've read that he does Captain Jack Sparrow and StarWars characters too, among others. I took a chance from his Yelp listing and am so glad I did! At the party, Joe engaged with the birthday boy (who walked up to Joe, eyes and mouth wide open during the first 5minutes!!!!!!), then Joe sat with the kids to learn their names, they did giant bubbles, balloon animals, freeze dancing. To use some of Blippi's words, it was "...so much fun!" We didnt even need to do games even though we prepared a couple. My favorite thing is that there were a few neurodiverse children at the party, but Joe took it all in stride. I was worried he wouldn't know what to do with them, but he totally winged it. He also can make the eye-rolling, skeptical 13yos participate in some dancing! My two cents after the party: was it pricey? a bit. Was it worth it? 100% yes. We love Joe and can't rave about him enough. If you're thinking about a character for your party, just do it! Get Joe! read more
