This was my first time visiting and I really enjoyed it. It gave me a great small town vibe. The waitress was hysterical. Cracking jokes I loved her humor. The first time I ate at Joe's was in 1987 when I met and married my wife, who is from Easley. She never mentioned going to Joe's for a meal so I asked her about it and she said that it was just OK so I wanted to go there just out of curiosity. They were famous for their hot dogs at that time and still are I suppose. Well, I ordered the hotdogs and they were the worst hotdogs I had ever had because the chili was made with bread mixed in with the chili. So I never went back until today when a friend of mine from Greenville wanted to go there and try it so we did. I was going to try their hotdogs again to see if they still put bread in the chili, but when we walked in the door, they had a sign out front for their daily special, which was a hamburger steak with two sides, and a drink including tax for $9.50 so we both decided that sounds like a good deal and that's what we ordered. He ordered his with onions and a salad and french fries. I ordered mine with extra crispy french fries, and coleslaw. The only reason I'm giving this place three stars instead of two is because he said his food was good the way it came out. Said the lettuce on the salad was fresh and the meat was cooked just right. my food came out the meat was cooked to a crisp Wayover cooked and the french fries were nowhere near crispy. They were just regular old fries, laying their lip and greasy. And the coleslaw had absolutely no seasoning or mayonnaise on it at all. It was just like they had grated a head of cabbage, and then put it in a bowl and served it. I imagine it will be another 25 years before I go back if I ever go back. I am so sad to have to leave a review like this! Joes was iconic when I was a kid! We loved the atmosphere in there, the food, the ice cream and the service was always amazing. It's crazy to see how down hill that it has went. My husband and I went there the other day and boy, was I talking this place up! The hotdog I got had canned chilli on it. It was not good. My husband had chicken strips that were cut in half I assume to make it look like he was getting more or that's the way they cooked them, I'm not sure. It was strange. The fries were cold and hard. I was so disappointed overall! The place needs a deep clean! I almost gagged going upfront to pay and seeing the mess that was everywhere! The walls were filthy, the appliances had food stains / drippings all on them, there was Ice cream toppings open and left around. The trash can beside our table was disgusting, it looked like it has never been cleaned. It needs a good updating, a full makeover! Keeping the old town vibes alive with a modern approach! The customer service was amazing!!! And I would give that 10 stars all day long!!!! Hopefully the owners will see this and will make significant improvements! Joe's ice cream parlor is a unique place! It's a hometown diner that serves the food expected. Burgers, fries, etc. The family environment is a plus as well! For me the ice cream falls short of what an ice cream parlor can deliver. With few flavors, and nothing to extravagant or tasty. The price is great and cheap! I worked here 28 years ago and haven't been back to this area for 26 years... OMG I just made myself feel soooo old. Come on now... I was 15 at the time... Joe, the owner, is still at helm and he still knows almost everyone walking in the door. Thankfully he doesn't remember me. I am pretty sure I was a serious pain in the ass back then serving up food and ice cream from the kitchen. This isn't a 5 star chef prepared meal. Almost everything is from a box or a jar. It's fried, it can be a little greasy, but that is what the people love. I love the hot dogs more than anything, the onion rings and the ice cream. I was able to take my family to my first job, which is funny because my boyfriend said he has no desire to go back to his first job... Classic 60's/70's restaurant. Don't think they ever renovated the restaurant since it opened, but I kid of liked the classic look for a change. Ordered the hamburger with fries and slaw. Hot dogs, ice cream, and a Main St. location. These are the items that really set a local establishment apart. This creamery also offers an extensive list of belt-tightening flavors. I do not go out of my way to eat ice cream, but I figured I would venture out for Yelping purposes. Also, I had been eating elementary school foods for a week, so why not go for something sweet to cap off my binge eating? I went with my childhood--when I used to actually eat sweets--favorite: butter pecan. It was fairly steep at $3.15, but it brought back some memories. Do not trust their "Affordable prices" sticker, though. My cup of vanilla+flavoring should not have topped $2.50. Sure, $0.65 is not a big deal, but that could have been better spent. The ice cream was somewhat gritty, not entirely smooth. I liked the abundance of pecans, but the vanilla flavor just fell sort of flat. I like a heartier caramel and vanilla flavor in my ice cream. I really dislike boring ice cream. All in all, this is definitely a cool place to stop by for a snack or even a light, but fattening dinner. read more

they would not take me seriously when i had ordered a gallon if tea. as a customer i am entitled to order what is on their menu. i had ordered a gallon of tea and the waitress had refused to give it to me before the end of the meal. as a mayter of fact no one took me seriously about my order. this is my first visit and they didnt even put in my order pf onion rings. this place is a disgrace to its customers and i will not be visiting again. and its a disgrace to joe. rip my boy joe read more

I don't go to Joe's for a gourmet experience. I go because the staff is friendly and the food hits the spot. I usually order the bacon cheeseburger plate with fries. My food has always tasted good and I appreciate the attentive service. In all the years I've been going there I still haven't tried their ice cream or shakes. Maybe next visit. read more

We visited Joe's on a Friday night. The rating was an A on the door. It wasn't exactly a clean place, but staff was very friendly. We ordered the typical burger, fries, and sweet tea. All of which was really good....until I went to pour more tea and discovered that the red lid had slimy mold around the rim when I removed the lid. I don't believe we will return. read more

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL SERVICE! We walk in and they know my daughters order. That's a sign we may go here often (generally once a week). It's not fancy, its very affordable, the three of us usually get out while spending right around $20 with tip. Their hot dogs are great, the chili-beans are good too, a Joe's patti melt would hit the spot, perfectly grilled to a crispy perfection. Quick and friendly service and the sweet tea keeps on flowing, they won't let you get three sips in before they fill it up.
