Unfortunately, the only thing they had left was mint -- they had run out of everything else. Even though I couldn't get most of what I wanted, everyone inside was very friendly and welcoming. The store itself was nice, but the vegetable area outside was a bit disappointing -- the ground was dirty and wet, which got my clothes and shoes messy. The value of the plant was really good. I'm glad I was able to find at least one thing I needed, and I'll try to come earlier next year in hopes they have more in stock.

It's hard to…read moretrack them down, because they're completely hands on and stay busy taking great care of the plants they have. A couple of friends and I stopped by for the succulent class. Desiree spent over an hour with us, helping us choose our plants, talking to us about our selections and helping us pot them. Good variety of standard veggies and herbs. I'll be using them for my flowers because they are the only garden center close by. But I'd go somewhere different for big items. Edit: This week I went to Western Garden Center down town, which is awesome! But I spent more than I would have at Loveland. I did buy a lot of our perennials here, but had to get a lot at Western Gardens too because Loveland just doesn't have as much variety. If you were doing a normal garden plot, you could get everything you need here. But we are doing a huge garden and wanted a big variety of things that were very easy to care for and good for the excessive heat and sun in that spot. If I wasn't so super picky or was doing an average garden, I would have done all my shopping here and saved myself $100 out of the $300 I spent at Western Garden. I spent $100 at Loveland and it would have been $150 at Western Garden....which is cheaper than some other places in SLC. So that tells you how cheap this place is! $7-8 for and average (6"??) pot, which is mostly what I got. I don't recall the prices on other things.

The reason for a 3-star rating and not higher is that the guy working there didn't seem to know much about flowers. I felt like he was part of the landscaping end and not the nursery side. He didn't know what types of flowers they had when I asked if they had some very common types of flowers. The bar code system didn't seem to work correctly and I was overcharged for flowers I didn't buy. I went back to have it corrected and he didn't know how to reverse it in their system. I ended up with additional plants that I didn't really need or want, just so I got what I paid for. Will I go back? Most likely. I don't know that I would stop going based on one employee.

Google (sorry!) had photos of metal yard art that was interesting, so I thought I could pick something up. Sadly, we learned from an employee of the store that the man who used to provide the yard art is "currently running from the law" so his inventory wasn't on display. Bummer. However, my friend found some smoker pellets that she wanted to try. If we happened to have a farm or a large yard that needs more than the occasional mow, this would be a terrific resource. They have excellent customer service and a good supply of things you'd probably want.

We were out of food for our quail chicks and didn't want to drive a few cities over to the Tractor…read moreSupply, so we called Dallas Green to see if they had 30% game bird crumble. They confirmed they had it in stock, so we headed down the road to the store. When we got there, we were a little confused because Google Maps took up to an art shop. Luckily there was a little sign above the shop that said Dallas Green was around the corner, so we pulled around and parked. It was difficult to see the entrance because of all the pallets piled around, but we found the door. When we walked in, the employees looked at us and then went about their business. We walked around looking for the feed, but couldn't find it, so we asked an employee. They told us we need to pay for it at the register and then to drive around to pick it up, so we paid $20+ and then headed out to our car. We pulled in to the warehouse and the employee confirmed we wanted 30% game bird crumble. He then started yelling at another employee for not doing his job while he went and looked for the crumble. He came back to the car with a 50lb bag and my husband opened the trunk for him. He put the bag in the back and told us how to get out of the warehouse (you just pull forward and make a left). Once we got home and went to give the quail chicks their food, we realized they gave us pellets instead of crumble. The birds are too little to eat pellets, so for now I'll need to blend it before giving it to them. It's extra work I didn't want to do, but I already opened the bag so I can't swap it out for crumble. I feel like this place has good prices and I like the ease of driving through the warehouse. When we try this place again, we'll double check that they grabbed the correct feed though.
